Inter move within one point of Juventus at the top of Serie A after that terrific display. Juventus will be looking to bounce back against Nordsjaelland in the Champions League in midweek whilst Inter hope to extend their nine-game winning streak against Partizan in the Europa League. Thanks for joining me on what has been a brilliant encounter at the Juventus Stadium, good night!
The Argentinine duo of Milito and Palacio will take the plaudits but Inter's second half comeback was fuelled by a terrific midfield display by Cambiasso and Gargano. They refused to give Pirlo space to pull the strings and despite a brilliant first half, the Italian veteran was anonymous at stages in the second.
What a thrilling game of football! Juventus could have been a few goals ahead in the first 20 minutes but a spirited Inter comeback has ended Juventus' unbeaten league streak. Diego Milito was the hero as he converted a penalty before showing his predatory instinct to seize on the rebound from Guarin's drive. Palacio made the points safe in the closing stages in a game which demonstrated that Inter really can sustain a genuine Scudetto challenge.
FULL TIME: JUVENTUS 1 - 3 INTER. JUVENTUS LOSE FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 50 LEAGUE MATCHES!
90' + 2'
Juventus pump the ball into the box and Bendtner rises highest to send a header towards goal. However, his effort is straight at Handanovic and Inter survive.
Juventus continue to pour forward in a last-gasp attempt to preserve their record but cannot find a way past a resilient Inter rearguard. It has been a truly special second-half performance from the Nerazzurri.
Assist Yuto Nagatomo
Goal Rodrigo Palacio
JUVENTUS' RUN IS OVER!! Having thrown numbers forward, Juventus are caught out on the counter-attack. It seems the chance has gone when Nagatomo cuts back but he feeds a fantastic reverse pass into the path of the unmarked Palacio whose shot bobbles into the net, despite the best efforts of Buffon. Jubilant celebrations on the touchline by the Inter bench.
Eleven men behind the ball for Inter as they defend desperately to hold onto their invaluable lead. Fabio Quagliarella lets fly from 25 yards but his shot flashes narrowly wide with Handanovic scrambling.
Yellow Card Javier Zanetti
Giorgio Chiellini joins the attack as Juventus search frantically for an equaliser. Are they about to suffer the same fate as Arsenal after 49 unbeaten matches?
What is Walter Gargano doing? The Uruguayan attempts an inexplicable pass back towards his goalkeeper which is intercepted by Bendtner. The Danish forward spots Buffon off his line but his lobbed effort from an acute angle lands just wide of the post. Let-off for Inter.
THAT WAS CLOSE! Andrea Pirlo's long-range effort is heading for the right-hand corner but Handanovic produces a wonderful save to tip the ball around the post. Eight minutes remaining.
Gaby Mudingayi jogs on to help Inter shore up the midfield with the potential match-winner Diego Milito being sacrificed. As things stand, Inter could close the gap to only a solitary point.
Fabio Quagliarella looks set to come on in an attempt to salvage this tie for Juventus. Remember, they have not lost in the league since May 2011. Just over ten minutes left for the Biaconeri.
Goal Diego Milito
GOOOAALL INTER!! Juventus' unbeaten streak is under threat now as Fredy Guarin surges past the Old Lady backline to test Buffon with a fantastic low drive. The Italian goalkeeper can only palm the effort into the path of the onrushing Diego Milito who gets ahead of his marker to slot home his second of the night. Fantastic comeback from Inter!
Juventus are lacking the fluency of their first-half performance and cannot get the ball up to Bendtner. The Inter anchormen, Cambiasso and Gargano have been fantastic in this second half and continue to break up play.
Javier Zanetti shows his experience to steal the ball away from Asamoah in a dangerous area. Fantastic defending from the veteran Argentine defender.
First change for Inter as Colombian international Fredy Guarin replaces Antonio Cassano. Can he inspire his side to an impressive turnaround?
Cambiasso lays off a freekick to Yuto Nagatomo whose goalbound effort strikes the frame of Arturo Vidal. Stramaccioni will be delighted with the performance of his side in this second period.
Penalty appeal for Juventus as Giovinco slips past Ranocchia but is muscled off the ball by Walter Gargano. Tagliavento is having none of it and waves play on.
Andrea Pirlo tries his luck with a freekick from 20 yards but Handanovic gets across his goal to punch clear.
Yellow Card Leonardo Bonucci
Bonucci picks up a yellow card for a mistimed tackle on Diego Milito.
Juventus have struggled to fashion chances in this second half and Inter are on top at the moment. Can Conte's side find some inspiration to regain the lead?
Penalty Goal Diego Milito
MILITO CONVERTS THE PENALTY! Diego Milito picks himself up to smash the ball into the roof of the net. Game on!
PENALTY TO INTER! Antonio Cassano's freekick causes panic in the Juventus box and Claudio Marchisio hauls down Diego Milito, causing Tagliavento to point to the spot. He certainly had a hold on the Argentine's shirt.
Antonio Cassano feeds in a wonderful pass to Yuto Nagatomo and the Japanese wonderkid unleashes an effort towards goal which is brilliantly saved by Buffon. Inter are gaining momentum here.
GLORIOUS CHANCE FOR PALACIO! Diego Milito launches a counter-attack as Inter have a 3-on-2. He has Cassano to one side but chooses to play in his international compatriot Palacio on the right side, who wastefully strikes over the bar.
Rodrigo Palacio rounds Gianluigi Buffon but his cross from an acute angle cannot find Diego Milito in the box and hits the side netting.
Yellow Card Giorgio Chiellini
Leonardo Bonucci drives through the Inter midfield and unleashes a venomous shot from range which forces Handanovic into a smart stop. Brilliant effort from the Italian centre-back.
Sebastian Giovinco produces a bit of magic to dance past four Inter defenders before Juan Jesus clears the danger. The former Parma star has been brilliant so far.
Yellow Card Andrea Pirlo
Andrea Pirlo picks up a yellow card after hauling down Rodrigo Palacio.
Inter survive the first 19 seconds of the second half!
A second change for Juventus as on-loan Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner replaces Mirko Vucinic. The Montenegrin talisman still feeling the effects of that earlier challenge.
Lots of people feeling that Lichtsteiner should have received a second yellow card for that tackle on Palacio. Inter can surely feel aggrieved especially after Asamoah appeared offside for the opening goal. Can Stamaccioni's side turn this match on its head in the second half?
A half filled with controversy, excitement and surprisingly only one goal. What are your thoughts on the match? Let me know via Twitter @MaxBentley1.
HALF TIME: JUVENTUS 1 - 0 INTER. A blistering start from the home side, who were quick out of the traps to take the lead after only 19 seconds courtesy of Arturo Vidal's close-range strike. Inter responded excellently with Palacio having a goal ruled out for offside and Antonio Cassano also coming close. Juventus are edging closer to that 50-game unbeaten mark but there is still a lot of work to do.
Good end to the half for Juventus. Arturo Vidal latches onto a loose ball on the edge of the box and sends a low daisy-cutter across goal which is fumbled by Handanovic. The Chilean follows in the rebound but it flashes just wide of the post.
Asamoah's deflected cross forces Handanovic to concede a corner. The ball is headed out but played back in to Marchisio whose half-volley flashes just wide.
Giovinco once again causes problems with his pace, surging past Ranocchia before pulling the ball back, but there is no black and white shirt to meet it.
Rodrigo Palacio cannot quite divert his header into the path of Diego Milito from Cambiasso's corner kick. Inter are pushing for an equaliser before the break. Five minutes to go.
Wise substitution from Angelo Alessio as Stephan Lichtsteiner is withdrawn in place of Martin Caceres. The Swiss right-back was walking a tightrope and the Juventus staff are aware that they can ill-afford to lose a man in such a decisive encounter.
Kwadwo Asamoah is causing Zanetti problems on the left wing and he plays the ball inside to Arturo Vidal who dallies in possession, allowing Juan Jesus to break up the play. That was a decent shooting opportunity for the hosts.
Controversy as Lichtsteiner brings down Palacio with a rash challenge. The Inter players are demanding a second yellow card but the referee gives the Swiss defender a warning.
Yellow Card Walter Samuel
Walter Samuel picks up Inter's first booking for a mistimed tackle on Giovinco.
Nearly a second for Juve. Giovinco uses his pace to latch onto a long ball from Chiellini and tries to dink the ball over his marker for Vucinic. However, Juan Jesus tracks back fantastically and averts the danger.
Yellow Card Stephan Lichtsteiner
YELLOW CARD. Stephan Lichtsteiner picks up the first caution of this match when he catches Esteban Cambiasso in the air.
Inter have settled into their rhythm after a nervy opening ten minutes. Both sides look dangerous going forward with Nagatomo and Giovinco causing problems with their pace.
Yuto Nagatomo is looking dangerous for the Nerazzurri and he lays the ball off for Juan Jesus, whose goalbound effort is expertly blocked by Andrea Barzagli. Mirko Vucinic has taken a knock as Nicklas Bendtner warms up on the touchline.
Giorgio Chiellini makes a lungbusting run from defence to launch a counter attack but cannot reach Vucinic's return pass. There's certainly more goals in this one.
Juventus are playing some neat triangles on the edge of the Inter box and it requires a timely interception from Walter Samuel to prevent Vucinic from advancing on goal.
Yuto Nagatomo marauds down the left once again and it takes a wonderful interception from Marchisio to prevent an Inter shirt from latching onto the cutback. This is much better from Stramaccioni's side.
INTER GO WITHIN INCHES OF EQUALISING! Cambiasso plays a short corner to Cassano, whose curling effort from the edge of the box whistles just wide of the post with Buffon beaten.
Yuto Nagatomo looks to cause problems down the left flank and Stephan Lichtsteiner is forced to concede a corner. Cambiasso's set-piece fails to beat the first man and the ball deflects wide for another corner.
Inter are enjoying a rare spell of possession but they are yet to penetrate the Biaconeri defence. Andrea Pirlo has been fantastic in this opening period.
Fantastic passing from Juventus and Sebastian Giovinco slips in Arturo Vidal who forces a good stop from Samir Handanovic. The Chilean midfielder had strayed just offside.
GOAL DISALLOWED FOR INTER. Esteban Cambiasso's quick freekick is headed into the bottom corner by Rodrigo Palacio but the Argentinian striker is adjudged marginally offside. Unlucky for the 30-year-old, it was a fantastic glancing header.
Esteban Cambiasso tries his luck from the edge of the box but his curling effort flashes just over the bar. Much better from the Nerazzurri.
Pirlo and Marchisio combine once again with the veteran midfielder picking out his midfield partner in the box, however the shot is comfortably saved by Handanovic.
GREAT SAVE FROM HANDANOVIC! Andrea Pirlo plays a fantastic ball over the Inter defence which Claudio Marchisio meets with a sweetly-struck volley, forcing Handanovic into a world-class stop from point-blank range.
Juventus are dominating possession in the early stages with Andrea Pirlo looking to pull the strings in midfield. Inter have barely stepped out of their own half.
Juventus are rampant! With the crowd on their feet, Sebastian Giovinco looks to pick out Mirko Vucinic on the back post but his cross is just overhit. Inter need to settle quickly here.
Andrea Stramaccioni is furious on the touchline. Asamoah looked offside as the ball was played through but the goal stands.
Assist Kwadwo Asamoah
Goal Arturo Vidal
UNBELIEVABLE START FROM JUVENTUS! 19 seconds on the clock and the Biaconeri lead. Kwadwo Asamoah looks offside from Mirko Vucinic's through ball and his shot is skewed into the path of Arturo Vidal who has the simple task of converting from a few yards out. 1-0 Juve!!
Paolo Tagliavento blows his whistle to begin this Serie A contest. Can Juventus go 50 matches unbeaten?
The teams emerge from the tunnels with captains Javier Zanetti and Gianluigi Buffon leading out the sides. A fantastic atmosphere here at the Juventus Stadium. Kickoff awaits...
Victory tonight would take Juventus past the English record of 49 unbeaten games set by the Arsenal invincibles. Antonio Conte's side are nine games shy of the Serie A record of 58 matches unbeaten set by Milan between 1991 and 1993. Can Inter be the team to break Juve hearts?
Inter have won all five of their games on the road this season, whilst Juventus maintain a 100% home record. Something has got to give tonight.
Inter make three changes from the 3-2 win over Sampdoria with Alvaro Pereira, Fredy Guarin and Gaby Mudingayi making way for Juan Jesus, Esteban Cambiasso and Yuto Nagatomo.
Juventus make seven changes from the side which claimed a last-gasp victory against Bologna in midweek, with only Gianluigi Buffon, Leonardo Bonucci, Andrea Barzagli and Andrea Pirlo keeping their places. Goalscorers Fabio Quagliarella and Paul Pogba drop to the bench.
Inter (3-4-2-1): Handanovic; Ranocchia, Samuel, Juan Jesus; Zanetti, Gargano, Cambiasso, Nagatomo; Palacio, Cassano; Milito.
Juventus (3-5-2): Buffon; Barzagli, Bonucci, Chiellini; Lichtsteiner, Vidal, Pirlo, Marchisio, Asamoah; Vucinic, Giovinco.
The last time these two giants met, in March, Juventus triumphed 2-0, signalling the end for coach Claudio Ranieri. Inter have not won in Turin against the Old Lady since January 2008 when two goals from Mario Balotelli inspired them to a 3-2 Coppa Italia victory.
Could this Biaconeri outfit prove to be the best Serie A side ever? Let me know your thoughts and predictions on the top-of-the-table clash via Twitter @MaxBentley1.
49 sides have tried, 49 sides have failed. Juventus are beginning to close in on AC Milan's historic 58-game unbeaten run but tonight they face a stern test against a resurgent Inter side who have title ambitions of their own. Andrea Stramaccioni's side have won their last eight games in all competitions and will be determined to close the four-point gap at the top of Serie A. My name is Max Bentley and I will keep you-up-to-date with all the drama as it unfolds from the Juventus Stadium. Sit tight because this has all the makings of a classic!
