F. Guarín 18'
Full time in San Siro. Sampdoria claim a point late in the day as Renan's superb strike on 89 minutes leaves Inter having to settle for a draw at home. The hosts took the lead in the first half through Fredy Guarin but didn't build on their lead and allowed Mihajlovic's outfit back into the match. The Sampdoria boss earns his second consecutive draw in his new role, and will certainly leave the stadium the happier of the two managers! I'm Martin Macdonald, thanks for joining us! See you next time!
90' + 1'
Inter have been off the pace in the last 20 minutes, and have allowed Sampdoria to grow confidence in the latter stages! The hosts have been off the pace!
GOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAALLLL FOR SAMPDORIA!! THEY'VE SNATCHED A POINT! Renan, who has been on the field for a minute, picks up the ball 25 yards from goal and rifles a left-footed strike into the bottom right corner! 1-1 at the death!
Double substitution as both sides make their final changes here. Obiang and Alvarez leave the play and Renan and Belfodil come on for the last few minutes.
Gabbiadini! Soooo close! He looks to latch on to a cracking pass from Palombo but just can't manage to stretch out his foot to divert the ball towards goal! He was inches away!
Some dodgy goalkeeping from Da Costa as he rushes out from goal to collect the ball at the corner flag. He just manages to get beyond Palacio and clear up the wing but Mihajlovic wouldn't have enjoyed that on the bench!
Second switch of the game from Inter as goalscorer, Guarin, is replaced by Gabi Mudingayi. The Belgian will certainly add some steel into that Inter midfield.
Soriano bursts into the Inter half and clips a cross into the Inter box for Eder, who does his best to battle with Rolando for the header, but the ball eventually floats out for a goal kick.
Yellow Card Fredy Guarín
Deserved yellow card for Guarin as the Colombian breaks down a Sampdoria counterattack with a cynical foul on Soriano. Some frustration just creeping into Inter's play; they'll need to keep their heads.
Yellow Card Hugo Campagnaro
Alvareeeezzzz! Unlucky! The 25-year-old collects the ball on the edge of the area and rifles a strike towards goal, but it just rises at the last minute to go north of the bar!
Inter have only managed two shots on target in the match to Sampdoria's five, so Mihajlovic's men are certainly growing into the match in the latter stages.
Second change of the match from the visitors. Pozzi is replaced by Gianluca Sansone up top for Sampdoria.
Eder steps up and smashes the free kick towards goal and it bounces up awkwardly for Handanovic, but the Inter 'keeper gets his body behind the ball to make the save, allowing Cambiasso to clear!
Palombo makes a penetrating run through the middle but goes down under the challenge of Guarin. It looked soft, but Sampdoria get the free kick 25 yards from goal. Let's see what they make of this.
Good play from Eder as he receives the ball to feet up top and gains the attention of Campagnaro and Rolando, but manages to squeeze out of the challenges to slide the ball in to Pozzi.
Good industry from Palacio. The Argentine retreats out to the right-hand side to hustle possession out of Costa. One thing you will always get from him is work rate.
Sampdoria haven't looked particularly dangerous since the break, but with one goal in it they are still in with a shout. They just need a creative spark in the final third.
First change of the match from Walter Mazzarri as Taider is replaced by wonderkid, Mateo Kovacic. Definitely one to watch for the future.
Cambiasso floats a corner to the back post and the ball rebounds to the edge of the box to Taider, who fires a strike at goal, but Sampdoria get out quickly to make the block.
The San Siro crowd let out a sigh of disapproval as the referee awards Sampdoria a goal kick when Alvarez clearly kicked the ball off the foot of Mustafi. Inter denied a clear corner by the official.
Palombo finds himself deep down the left wing and looks to cut inside on his right foot but goes down under the challenge of Cambiasso. The Argentine got the ball, though!
Jonathan and Taider exchange a few passes on the right but the Brazilian is clipped by Soriano and Inter get the free kick in a useful position deep inside the Sampdoria half.
It looked like Da Costa may have got a hand to that!
Guarin hits the post!! The 27-year-old gets in behind the Sampdoria defence in the inside-right channel and unleashes a powerful strike towards the corner that cannons off the woodwork!
What a superb cross from Guarin! The Colombian finds space on the right and clips the ball beyond the defender's heads, but Taider just can't get there in time to turn it towards goal!
Eder gets his body in between the ball and the defender but is unceremoniously bundled over by Rolando. No free kick though, somehow.
Super play from Cambiasso whilst under pressure. The former Real Madrid man is hounded by Palombo but manages to swing his foot round the ball to curl a sensational pass out to the right wing.
Inter get us back under way at San Siro!
Sampdoria get out to the field for the second half before Inter, bar Javier Zanetti, who is already out on his own staring down the opposition. Sums him up really!
Half time in San Siro. Sampdoria started the match promisingly, but as Inter grew into the match they looked more and more dangerous. Some magic play from Ricky Alvarez to set up Guarin at the back post eventually saw the Nerazzurri take the lead. 1-0 at the break!
45' + 1'
Yellow Card Eder
45' + 1'
Second yellow card of the match for a handball, and this time the referee brandishes one to Eder. Looked rather harsh from the official.
Guarin floats a cross to the back post and Taider looks to get on the end of it, but Mustafi just manages to get in front of him at the last minute to make the interception.
It looked fairly innocuous, the injury, but Gastaldello won't be able to continue. He'll be replaced by Vasco Regini, who'll slot in at centre back.
There's a break in play at the moment as Gastaldello is currently down injured, and it looks like a serious one.
Great goalkeeping from Handanovic! A cross comes in from the right and it looked as if it could just nestle in the top corner, but the former Udinese man leapt from goal to punch the ball away! Superman style!
Alvarez displays some rapid feet on the edge of the box and eventually manages to get a shot away, but the strike is blocked inside the crowded Sampdoria box.
Sampdoria made the better start of the two sides and put some real pressure on Inter in the early stages, but Inter have gained the ascendancy and look the more likely to score the second.
Juan Jesus makes a bursting run out of defence but loses the ball just inside the Sampdoria half. The visitors counterattack but the Inter defender rushes back to make a rash foul, for which he's lucky to escape a booking.
Eder collects possession on the right wing and dances past a couple of challenges on the edge of the box before reversing a pass back inside for Pozzi, but Rolando managed to nick a foot in to win back the ball for Inter.
A really poor challenge Costa! He goes in incredibly late from behind on Taider and earns a booking for his troubles. Looked a painful one, that!
Yellow Card Andrea Costa
Pozzi shifts the ball on to his right foot just inside the Inter box and has a crack at goal with a right-footed strike, but Handanovic easily gets down to make a comfortable save.
Obiang has made a decent start to the match for Sinisa Mihajlovic's men. The Spaniard has taken up a deep position so far and has been confidently laying passes out to the wings.
Magical play again from Alvarez! The Argentine dips the shoulder inside the box and looks to pick out a strike towards the bottom corner, but Sampdoria just manage to get the block in!
Jonathaaaaaan!!! Unlucky!! The Brazilian powers up the right wing and rifles a strike towards the top corner, but it screws just wide of the post!
That was such excellent play from Alvarez; he's looking in the mood!
Assist Ricardo Álvarez
Goal Fredy Guarín
GOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAALLLL FOR INTER!! A SUPERB MOVE!! Alvarez twists and turns brilliantly and leaves Gabbiadini for dead before lashing a cross to the back post, where Fredy Guarin takes a touch before smashing it home! 1-0!
Inter creeping back into contention here.
Rather comically, Taider bursts into the box and manages to volley the ball straight off his own face! He's looking slightly embarrassed after that one, it looked painful!
Great play again from Palacio! The 31-year-old takes on De Silvestri at right-back and swings a superb cross to the edge of the box, but there are no takers amongst the Inter ranks! Sampdoria got away with one there!
Rodrigo Palacio takes a superb touch inside the centre circle and looks to power ahead down the middle but he is cynically hacked down by the retreating Gabbiadini, who earns a deserved yellow card. The counterattack from Inter was certainly full of pace!
Yellow Card Manolo Gabbiadini
Yellow Card Ricardo Álvarez
First booking of the match goes to Ricky Alvarez after the Argentine handled the ball down the left-hand side.
The ball comes to Cambiasso 25 yards out from his own goal and takes and the Argentine takes a horrible touch, which gifts the ball back to Sampdoria in a rather dangerous position.
Campagnaro bring the ball out of the Inter defence through the middle but is chopped down just inside the centre circle. Free kick to the hosts.
Gabbiadini!! The 22-year-old fires a left-footed half volley at goal from the edge of the box that creeps inches by the post! Handanovic was certainly struggling to get across there!
It really has been a superb start to the match from the visitors. Inter are camped inside their own half as Sampdoria spray the ball around confidently in the midfield area.
Eder! Unlucky! The set-piece is laid to the edge of the box in what looks like a training ground routine and the ball comes to the Sampdoria frontman, who attempts a spectacular bicycle kick that goes just over!
Sampdoria looking bright in the early stages here. They move the ball up the park and eventually claim an early corner kick.
Sampdoria get us under way at San Siro!
Brilliant to see Javier Zanetti back for Inter, who makes his first start of the campaign after recovering from his achilles injury.
The players have made their way onto the pitch; not long until we get started!
The corresponding fixture last season ended 3-2 to Inter, with Milito, Rodrigo Palacio and Freddy Guarin on target for the hosts while Gianni Munari and Eder replied for Sampdoria.
This is Sinisa Mihajlovic's second match in charge of Sampdoria after his opening draw to Lazio. Like Mazzarri, he also faces one of his former clubs today.
Inter are missing several key players today. Mauro Icardi, Diego Milito, Cristian Chivu, Walter Samuel and Yuto Nagatomo are all suffering from injuries.
Walter Mazzarri faces one of his former clubs this afternoon. The 52-year-old was head coach of Sampdoria from 2007 to 2009 - earning sixth and 13th place finishes in Serie A.
The Nerazzurri are looking to extend their current Serie A unbeaten run to seven games, with their last defeat coming at the start of October against league leaders, Roma.
