E. Cambiasso 66'
A final thought from Kris Voakes at San Siro - "Just the kind of game we expected. And just the kind of result Inter needed. Chievo gave it a shot, and maybe deserved at least a goal, but their defence always looked likely to let Inter in." And with that we invite you to check out the full match report and ratings here on Goal.com. Also keep an eye out for the play-by-play on Udinese-Roma from 8:45 CET.
90' + 5'
Motta concedes a free-kick thirty-yards from goal and this will be the last chance of the game. A nicely worked free-kick but the final whistle blows.
90' + 4'
Pellissier tries to force a frantic last couple of minutes but has his shot charged down in the area.
90' + 2'
Nagatomo this time!! Sorrentino stood his ground well to deny the full-back after Sneijder sent him in on goal.
Instinctive stuff this time from Milito who sends a diving header just wide, as Chievo tried to clear their lines. The Nerazzurri fans are in good voice as we move in to five minutes of stoppage time.
MILITO! Flashed wide but a confident shot from the Argentine. Kharja fed the lone striker on the edge of the box, who turned and opened his body to get the shot away.
The game hasn't slowed as Inter are eager to keep a clean sheet. Nagatomo tracks his man well into Chievo's half to make a tackle.
GOOOOAAALL! Inter 2-0! Maicon cut in from the right and fed Sneijder. The Dutchman's ball deflected towards Milito, who managed to poke the ball towards Maicon while on the floor and the right-back makes no mistake from close range.
What a chance!! Sardo found Uribe in the area, it was a beautiful first touch but he slammed his shot into the side netting.
Yellow Card Houssine Kharja
That should have been game over for Inter. Motta found Milito in space with a lovely flicked pass and the Argentine attempted to lift the ball over Sorrentino back into the path of Motta, but it was easy for the 'keeper.
Our 'Man in the Meazza' Kris Voakes has been quick to point out a flaw in Leonardo's tactical change - "Leonardo is trying to see it out with a 4-4-1-1, which seems a strange choice. They don't want to be inviting Chievo onto them as they're no mugs."
Pellissier!!! Oh no, that should have been in the back of the net for Chievo. A cross from the left picked out the captain in space only for him to sky his shot over the bar.
Lucio volleys the ball out for Inter but lands rather awkwardly on his ankle and is now receiving treatment behind the goal.
A tired looking Samuel Eto'o makes his way to the touch line to be replaced by Thiago Motta. Inter will switch to one in attack.
Sardo thumps a wayward cross from the right out for a throw on the left. A real waste from the defender who had plenty of time.
A long ball in from the left forces Julio Cesar off his line and he collides with Ranocchia. The knock has taken the wind out the Brazilian and we have a short delay.
Sneijder spreads the ball to the left, Inter are keeping the ball well now and it's creating space. Zanetti this time has time to get his range but rather scuffs his shot.
Maicon surges forward and finds Zanetti wide on the right, a throw-in now for the Nerazzurri.
Goal Esteban Cambiasso
GOOOOAAALLLLL!!!! Inter and it's Cambiasso who gets the Nerazzurri back on track. Lucio fed Maicon and the Brazilian's cross found the Argentine who spun his volley goalward. Sorrentino got a hand to push the ball on to the bar but it wasn't enough. A sigh of relief for Leonardo, it's 1-0.
Calls for a penalty as Milito goes to ground but the Argentine appeared to fall too easily.
Thereau slides the ball across the Inter area and Maicon...just...does enough to put off Constant at the far post. What a chance for Chievo to take the lead.
Milito is on for Pazzini and Kris Voakes thinks he could be the man for Inter - "The Nerazzurri are certainly feeling the psychological blow of the last week. Sneijder burst onto the scene but has quickly gone quiet. Maybe Diego Milito is the man to change their fortunes."
A foul on Bogliacino and a free-kick. The set-piece leads to a scramble and Mandelli is adamant he was fouled at the far post. The referee waves away the protest. It didn't look like a penalty, as Julio Cesar punched clear.
Sneijder turns a nice through ball into the box for Nagatomo on the left and his cross almost causes an own goal with Pazzini waiting. Another corner for the home side.
Groans fill the Meazza, as Cambiasso gives the ball away but Inter are still pressing.
Moscardelli is being replaced by Thereau for Chievo. The striker took a knock in the first period and perhaps never fully recovered.
Eto'o is closed down quickly in the middle of the park but Inter re-group and Ranocchia regains possession. The hosts surrender the ball once more and Pellissier tests Cesar from distance but it was straight at the goalkeeper.
Pellissier!!! The forward is in far too much space in the box but can't keep his header down. An alarm bell for Inter not to give the Chievo captain that kind of space again.
Constant knocks the ball past a sluggish Maicon and whips in a good cross and it's Nagatomo again to clear. Corner.
Nagatomo runs across the path of Moscardelli to allow Cesar to come and collect a ball over the top. The Japan international continues to impress this evening.
Sneijder slips the ball out to Nagatomo on the left and Inter win an early corner. Sniejder is again involved but his shot won't trouble Sorrentino.
Kharja is seen out by Fernandes on the left. He keeps going though and instigates some short, sharp passing to find space on the left and fire in a cross which Sorrentino collects comfortably.
A warm welcome back here for the second-half. Leonardo has made a change, Wesley Sneijder is on for Stankovic. Will the Dutchman provide the extra creativity to carve open Chievo?
A few words from Goal.com's Kris Voakes live at the game - "Not a great first half performance but Inter certainly have a goal or two in them. The problem is they also have to beware of Sergio Pellissier, who would surely have had a goal to his name if Moscardelli had seen him wide open."
It's half-time at the Giuseppe Meazza and Inter are being held 0-0 by Chievo. The Nerazzurri have opened up their visitors on a number of occasions but it has been more slack marking than creativie football. Chievo will be pleased to go into the break level, while Leonardo has some thinking to do. Join us back in 15 minutes for the conclusion of this evening's fixture.
Two minutes of added time and it's Inter on the attack. Eto'o tries to feint his way past two defenders but they close out the former Barca hitman.
I hope you all bought corners this evening! Inter now to deliver; it's a poor one from Kharja but the Nerazzurri still have it. PAZZINI! Blocked...and MAICON!!! Wide...the fans down the opposite end are cheering as the ball ripples the net behind off the sponsor boards.
The delivery in is missed by Inter at the near post and Pellissier tries an audacious back-heel which nearly creeps in.
Constant drifts a cross towards Moscardelli, which deflects out for Chievo's third corner. It's deep and the visitors have another throw of the dice; they win another corner!
Eto'o this time turns his marker Mandelli, who couldn't get close, but the forward doesn't catch his effort sweetly and it bobbles wide.
Chievo don't look in any difficulty at the moment when Inter are on the attack. On two or three occasions they have been quick to step in to break up dangerous moves.
The trademark run from Lucio was perhaps one too many, the physio is on to give the centre-back treatment.
A series of corners now for the visitors has kept Lucio busy defending but now the Brazilian is dancing forward into attack.
Ranocchia's clearance out of defence is charged down but the big defender is fortunate Chievo can't capitalise.
Almost half-an-hour gone and our 'Man in the Meazza' Kris Voakes has issued a word of warning for Chievo - "Stefano Pioli has to do something about his defence. Mandelli and Andreolli have done far too much ball-watching so far, allowing Eto'o and particularly Pazzini to drift into dangerous positions."
Pellissier catches his half-volley all wrong on the edge of the area and shocks a few fans in the top tier, who collect his shot.
Five changes today for Inter after conceding five against Schalke in mid-week but there has been little impact so far, as Kharja concedes a foul.
Chievo finally have some possession in the opposition's half but the final cross is lacking direction.
Nagatomo has been steady down the left for Inter and he again ushers out Pellissier for a throw.
Yellow Card Gennaro Sardo
One minute later and the referee will book Sardo for a faint push on Eto'o this time. Persistent fouls no doubt the reason for the yellow card.
The crowd are angered that Sardo hasn't been shown a yellow card for a hack into the back of Eto'o. Stankovic thunders the quick free-kick into a white shirt.
Wasteful this time from Inter! A lovely run from Pazzini into space inside area but the former Sampdoria striker clips his shot first-time wide of the left post. Two chances in two minutes for the Nerazzurri, still 0-0.
Brilliant play by Nagatomo and so close for Inter! The Japanese full-back dashes past his opposite number who was too indecisive but the pull-back towards Eto'o was just behind the striker.
Inter are beginning to pen Chievo in their half but the champions should be wary of the dangerous 'Flying Donkey' counter.
Julio Cesar leaps into action to claim a heavy set-piece and the Brazilian 'keeper sets Inter on the attack.
Goal.com's Kris Voakes at the Giuseppe Meazza live this evening has commented on the opening ten minutes for Inter - "Kharja has been chosen to start in the No. 10 position ahead of Stankovic, but twice already his tendency to hold onto the ball too long has foiled Inter on the counter."
Constant switches play to Sardo on the right and Chievo win a corner. Poorly taken and Kharja comes forward for the hosts.
Inter shift the ball along their back line and they find space down the right. The Nerazzurri shift the ball inside and Eto'o drills the first shot on target but saved by Sorrentino.
Inter move the ball forward quickly but Chievo stand strong to clear a cross from the right.
Eto'o is barged down as the Cameroon international looks to get round his marker on the edge of the box. Nothing given by the ref to everyones surprise.
And we're off! Chievo are doing the early running here in Milan, and it's constant who has the first shot of the game but wide for Chievo.
Welcome to Goal.com's live coverage of Inter against Chievo. The Nerazzurri urgently need a positive result to keep their title race alive - and to help banish the memories of the 5-2 midweek disaster against Schalke. We'll be underway shortly.
