Made a couple of routine stops and was rarely troubled by the away side.
By far Inter's main threat in the opening 45. Strode along the right flank with ease and delivered cross after cross. More subdued in the second as he was pinned back by Agostini and Lazzari.
Gave the ball away a few times, but was excellent when surging forward. In the second half Pisano put in far too many crosses from his flank.
Used all his experience to ensure Inter ground out a result. Dispossessed Conti and Ragatzu to relieve pressure on his team in the second half.
Credited with the goal, though replays show Canini got the final touch. He was more assured than of late, stepped out of defence well, while handling Acquafresca with ease.
Made some excellent interventions, especially on Biondini. Dominant in the air as well.
Didn't offer his usual thrust from midfield. Didn't hold onto the ball well enough and had a hairy moment when he gave it away to Nene in an extremely dangerous area. Hooked for Cambiasso.
His shot led to the goal and he looked lively early on, playing plenty of through balls while also drifting left to help out Eto'o and Nagatomo.
Forced a great save from Agazzi very early on. Made a few errors when Inter were counter attacking in the second half, and Pazzini had a little word.
Had plenty of service in the first half, which he failed to capitalise on. His first touch tonight was awful and he barely touched the ball in the second half.
Was played on the left side and always looked a threat. Pisano was unable to cope with him. Grew tired as the match wore on and was taken off just after the hour mark.
Made an excellent save from Pandev and controlled his area well. Foiled Eto'o on plenty of occasions and in the second half could have read a novel.
Nightmare for the centre-back as his touch meant the goal stood. Good in the air, but was led a merry dance by Eto'o in the first half.
Had a tough time of it against a rampant Maicon, but gave him a touch of his own medicine in the second half, though was always wary of the counter from the Brazilian and didn't bomb forward as much as he could.
Had it tough in the first half as Eto'o repeatedly beat him, while also worrying about Nagatomo who was bombing forward. In the second half he did the opposite and delivered some decent balls himself.
Kept Pazzini very quiet but when he came up against Eto'o he looked scared and was beaten a couple of times by the Cameroonian. Was more comfortable in the second as Inter rarely ventured forward.
Stuck to his task of protecting the defence and had a tough time against Kharja, but as Cagliari grew in confidence he even found time to get forward and almost scored with a deflected effort.
His final ball was off, but he did find himself in a number of good positions although he was shackled by Zanetti.
Had a number of efforts go close. Was foiled once by Cordoba and shaved the post on another occasion. Saw plenty of the ball on the right and combined well with Pisano to fire balls into the box.
Had an effort tipped over the bar in the opening moments and saw another effort flash wide. Fairly lively in the first half as Thiago Motta couldn't stick with him.
Could not find a way past Ranocchia and was eventually taken off. Every ball was just out of reach of the frontman, though his effort has to be commended.
Was the most dangerous of the Cagliari front men. But he was a little selfish and was easily picked off by Cordoba. Wasteful infront of goal as well.
- 12 L. Castellazzi
- 23 M. Materazzi
- 20 J. Obi
- 29 Philippe Coutinho
Tightened the midfield and used his experience to help Inter take the points.
Helped to shore up the midfield and see out the match.
Had little effect when he came on as Inter were camped out in their own half.
