M. Icardi 36'
G. Bonaventura 35', 90'
That's your lot from me this afternoon. Enjoy the rest of your weekend and thanks for joining me, Harry Slavin. Until next time, bye for now!
That win sees Atalanta pick up all three points from the San Siro for the second year in a row. His two goals also mean that Bonaventura has netted four times in just three appearances against the Nerazzurri.
FULL TIME: INTER 1-2 ATALANTA. A stunning win for Atalanta as they pick up their fourth win on the trot in Serie A for the first time since 1995. How they managed it though will remain a mystery to Walter Mazzarri and his Inter side as they squandered chance after chance in their search for a second goal.
90' + 2'
We are well into the three minutes of stoppage time. I don't think there's even time for Inter to muster one more chance.
GOOOAAAALLL!!! ATALANTA HAVE STOLEN THE POINTS!!! Bonaventura crops up at the back post to head Brienza's corner between the legs of Handanovic and into the net. They've had to soak up a lot of pressure in this half but Colantuono's men have hit Inter with a real sucker-punch at the death!
INTER HIT THE BAR AGAIN!!! You just get that feeling it's not going to be their day. Jonathan times his run brilliantly in behind and waits for Consigli to commit to the ground before lifting the ball over him. His effort comes back off the underside of the bar though and Icardi is foiled as he tries to stick in the rebound.
Yellow CardAndrea Consigli
WHAT A CHANCE FOR ATALANTA!!! They've almost stolen the points at the death there!!! Estigarribia gets to the bye-line and cuts the ball back. Denis leaves it for the sub Brienza but his shot is blocked on the line by Jonathan!
Free kick in a promising position for Inter after Del Grosso is penalised for handling Guarin's cross. The Colombian lofts the ball into the centre but two Inter players can't connect with it and Atalanta clear.
Last roll of the dice from Mazzarri. He brings on Kovacic in place of Campagnaro for the final stages. Atalanta are dropping deeper and deeper here. Can Inter find a late breakthrough?
We are into the final 10 minutes here. Inter are still pushing for a winner. They have a corner but it's taken short by Alvarez and eventually it comes to nothing.
Nagatomo gets in behind Atalanta on the left, exactly what Mazzarii brought him on for. Unfortunately his ball into the middle is blocked easily by the first man. That's certainly not what the full-back was brought on for. A real waste.
Yellow CardGuglielmo Stendardo
Stendardo has never been a player to shrug a challenge but this is more than a little reckless. The central defender comes right through the back of Palacio and rightly picks up a booking.
Inter are unbeaten in their last 10 games, the only problem at the moment is that they are drawing too many of them. They've drawn five of their last eight. They won't want to drop more points here.
Another substitution for Inter as Nagatomo comes on for the last 20. He can get forward with his pace. Mazzarri will be hoping he can trouble some tiring legs in the Atalanta team.
Almost a major flashpoint! Tempers are just beginning to fray in the Inter camp as they are continuously frustrated by a stubborn Atalanta defence. Hernanes lets it get the better of him and goes over the top in a tackle with Carmona. The midfielder is not happy but the officials have missed it and play carries on.
We have just 20 minutes left in this one then. Inter have looked much more likely to get their noses in front but Atalanta are holding on for just now - much to the frustration of the home support.
Hernanes takes aim from a free kick wide on the left flank and almost catches Consogli out, but the Atalanta shot-stopper is able to punch the ball clear.
Ricky Alvarez storms through the centre of the park as the Atalanta midfield parts like the red sea. He goes on to ruin all his hard work though as his pass intended for Palacio is well overhit and the chance goes begging.
Consigli comes to collect a cross but gets nowhere near it! Luckily for the Atalanta keeper, the only player lurking behind him is Del Grosso and the left-back is able to head the ball away for a corner.
Inter decide to switch things in the middle. On comes the more attack-minded Ricky Alvarez for Cambiasso. Will that give the hosts the extra option they need in the final third?
POST!!! Inter hit the upright again, this time through Palacio. The Argentine striker tries to dink a header towards goal - in a similar fashion to which he scored against Torino a couple of weeks ago. This time though the ball comes back off the inside of the post and Atalanta can clear.
It's been a whirlwind start once more to the half from Inter who have created two or three clear openings. Atalanta were able to respond in the first half. Can they respond again now?
GUARIN CLIPS THE BAR!!! Some woeful defending from Atalanta presents Inter with a breakaway and when Palacio feeds in Guarin there is only one thing in the midfielder's mind. He picks his spot but his shot grazes the bar on its way over. Inter getting closer here.
Needless intricacy has always been a weakness of Guarin and it rears its ugly head here. Jonathan, who has been lively these opening few minutes of the half, slams in a low cross but the Colombian takes the ball away from goal when he tries to help it on its way with a flick of his right boot.
Good effort from Jonathan! Guarin's measured pass is cut out but it bobbles into the path of the wing-back who takes the shot in his stride, forcing Consigli into a decent stop.
Jonathan gets forward down the right for Inter early on in the half. His cross is poor but eventually it's recycled and put behind by Del Grosso for an Inter corner.
Away we go then. No changes at the break for either side so it's as we were - bar Atalanta's first half substitution.
The sides are making their way back out at the San Siro. Can they carry the thrills and spills of the first half into the second? We are about to find out.
Both sides mustered an impressive 15 shots between them in that opening period. I think Fredy Guarin had about 13 of them. The Colombian has been everywhere for the hosts in the final third and looks on his game today.
HALF-TIME: INTER 1-1 ATALANTA. What a captivating opening half we had there! Plenty of chances for both sides and two really well-taken goals have given fans at the San Siro a real spectacle. Inter's goal may finally have been breached for the first time in a month, but Atalanta still have a lot of work to do if they're to come away with anything here.
45' + 3'
Yellow CardLuca Cigarini
45' + 3'
Cigarini is in the book for a foul on Hernanes late in the half. That will do us though for the opening half!
45' + 2'
Icardi chests the ball down inside the area but he's penalised for a foul on Stendardo before he can turn and shoot. That looks like the last action of this half.
Good chance for D'Ambrosio just before the break but he can't move his feet quickly enough to make any decent contact with Campagnaro's cross. We'll have three minutes of added time at the end of first 45.
Yepes is clobbered as the corner comes in and play is stopped for a head injury. The former Milan man looks a little dazed but will be fine to continue after a bit of treatment on the sidelines.
Jonathan gets free down the right and has the chance to fire in a dangerous cross. Del Grosso is across well to quell the danger with a bock that puts the ball behind for a corner.
It was Guarin who played in Icardi just seconds after Inter had fallen behind. The Colombian is looking sharp today and could yet have a big say in the outcome of this one.
A further blow for Atalanta as Moralez looks unable to continue due to an injury. He's replaced by Brienza.
GOOOAAALLL!!! INTER ARE LEVEL IMMEDIATELY!!! Like buses, we have two goals after waiting a good half-hour for one. Atalanta are still celebrating when Icardi is slipped through, the striker keeping his composure and slipping it beyond Consigli. We are all square again here.
GOOAAALLL!!! BONAVENTURA GIVES ATALANTA THE LEAD!!! Campagnaro won't want to see this again. An awful defensive header gives the visitors the chance to break. Moralez holds up the play well and waits for support, which comes in the form of Bonaventura - the midfielder cutting in onto his right foot and smashing beyond Handanovic.
Yellow CardConstantin Nica
Bonaventura lets rip from some way out. The ball is swerving all over the place and has Handanovic worried but it creeps just over the bar. That would have been some goal from Atalanta's no.10.
Carmona is perhaps a little fortunate to still be on the field. He's certainly lucky to escape a caution as he leaves a boot in on Cambiasso as they go for a 50/50. Walter Mazzarri spotted the nasty challenge but the officials haven't and the Atalanta midfielder is off the hook.
Del Grosso looks a real danger down the left for Atalanta. The quality of his delivery when he gets near the box has the Inter defence on edge whenver he advances down the left. A dangerous delivery at the other end should see Inter hit the front but Icardi misses the ball completely!
Guarin has just begun to try his luck down the right-hand side in the past few minutes. He has swung in a couple of crosses from that flank but no one in blue and black has been able to capitalise on them in the centre.
We are over half way through the first period and still the game shows little sign of slowing. Still we wait for that elusive first goal though!
CHANCE!!! Hernanes has made a big difference for Inter since his move from Lazio and his ability to pick out the pass unlocks the Atalanta defence here. He releases Icardi into the area but the striker can't find Palacio with his cut back and the chance goes begging.
Inter have resorted to more patient build up play for now. A succession of passes strung between the midfield trio of Guarin, Cambiasso and Hernanes results in the Colombian having another effort on goal. This one is on target but Consigli gathers it at the second attempt.
We're still waiting on that first goal but the chances are coming thick and fast. Atalanta have grown in confidence after their early chance and Handanovic is certainly the busier of the two keepers at the moment.
WOODWORK!!! Handanovic wasn't getting near this one but the crossbar has come to his rescue. Bonaventura delivers a dangerous cross from the left and Denis sees his header clip the bar and go out for a goal kick.
It's been a frantic opening at the San Siro and neither side are afraid to go on the attack here. The Nerazzurri have just won their first corner of the game but it comes to nothing, with the referee waiving away appeals for a penalty after Ranocchia goes down.
Another really good stop from Handanovic! Denis and Moralez exchange passes on the edge of the box and the little Argentine stings the palms of the Inter keeper with a strong drive.
The visitors are just enjoying their first sustained period of possession at the moment. They've given their hosts three sights of goal in the opening minutes - it's no wonder they want to calm things down.
Palacio cuts inside from the left and has a pop at goal, but this one is easily smothered by Consigli. It's been a lively opening at the San Siro. An opening goal doesn't look too far away.
Great stop from Handanovic! Del Grosso is able to deliver a cross from the left and Moralez arrives late to catch the ball on the half-volley, his effort though is palmed away by the Inter keeper.
GUARIN! Some more neat work from Hernanes sets up his midfield accomplice again. He opts for power over precision this time and sends his effort inches over Consigli's crossbar. A really bright start from the home side.
A good early chance for the home side! Hernanes wriggles his way to the edge of the Atalanta area and sets up Guarin, but the Colombian sidefoots his effort wide of the far post.
Away we go then, Inter get us underway in their black and blue stripes.
The teams are out in Milan and we are moments away from kick off!
Walter Mazzarri names an unchanged Inter side after their 2-0 victory over Hellas Verona last time out. That means there is no place in the starting line up for Birthday boy Walter Samuel. The Argentine is 36 today.
ATALANTA: (4-4-1-1) Consigli; Nica, Stendardo, Yepes, Del Grosso; Estigarribia, Cigarini, Carmona, Bonaventura; Moralez; Denis.
INTER: (3-5-2) Handanovic; Campagnaro, Ranocchia, Rolando; Jonathan, Guarin, Cambiasso, Hernanes, D'Ambrosio; Palacio, Icardi.
We are just over 10 minutes away from kick off so let's get some teams news in. We'll start with the hosts.
Inter must be getting pretty sick of the sight of Atalanta boss Stefano Colantuono too. The coach has only ever seen any of his sides defeated once by the San Siro outfit and is unbeaten in his last seven matches against them.
Inter haven't conceded a single goal in the league this month and have now gone 320 minutes without letting in at their end. They will need to be on their guard today though - the Nerazzurri haven't beaten Atalanta in their previous five league meetings.
Walter Mazzarri's side are beginning to find a bit of form at the right time, and although the final Champions League spot looks out of reach, they are well and truly in the hunt for fourth spot and a place in next season's Europa League group stages. They come up against an Atalanta side today that are sitting quite comfortably in midtable, and the Lombardy-based side are more than capable of causing their hosts a problem or two.
Good afternoon and welcome to coverage from the San Siro as Inter prepare to take on Atalanta this afternoon. I'm Harry Slavin and I'll be here to bring you every second of the action from Milan. Let's get cracking then!
