Rarely tested but was competent in everything he did, and had no chance with Whittingham's close-range finish.
The centre-back performed competently throughout until he lost Whittingham for the equaliser, but otherwise had a quiet game.
The defender stooped low to head in his first goal for the Tigers close to the break, and was strong at the back with a number of timely blocks and headers. Booked late on.
The full-back was caught out by Cowie on the flank a couple of times, but wasn't afraid to get forward and shoot from distance.
Held the centre of the field well with Huddlestone, and looks a fine loan acquisition by Bruce with a good passing range.
Tested Lewis early on with a teasing effort outside the area and looked dangerous cutting in from the flank to shoot regularly. Denied a goal with a correct offside call.
The midfielder showed his canny nature with good positioning and clever interceptions to break up Cardiff's play, and linked well with Huddlestone to almost net a second.
The composed midfielder stung Lewis' hands with a long-range effort and then put in a fine cross for Davies to score moments after. He is fast becoming the team's most important player.
Ahmed El Mohamady
Never looks happier than when bombing forward, and looked threatening on the right with his dribbling and crossing.
Wasted a glorious chance in the opening 10 minutes, blazing over from six yards with the goal gaping. Found space late on but couldn't force a winner.
Got forward down the left but his passing wasn't accurate enough at times, and was replaced with a minimum of fuss.
Got down low to save smartly from Aluko in the opening stages and made a good stop from Huddlestone, but could do nothing about the opener. Showed good strength in the air with repeated punches.
His touch was off at times when a surer head was needed to keep possession and apply some pressure to Hull.
Was beaten for pace far too easily by Aluko and got a deserved yellow for bringing the winger down.
K. Théophile Catherine
The Frenchman made a few interceptions but should have offered more to get his side back in the game, although he improved by almost setting up Gunnarsson.
Stood strong on a number of occasions but failed to stop Davies from netting. The young signing looked to get forward but lacked the needed quality to make a difference.
The Icelandic international was a willing runner but lacked any real cutting edge aside from a fierce blocked shot. Should have put his side ahead with a second-half header.
Showed quick feet early on to get away from Figueroa, and put in decent crosses from the right including a fine ball for Whittingham's equaliser. Replaced late on by Mutch.
Could easily have won a penalty early on but was denied. His fine work rate resulted in a number of interceptions, which will be a big asset as the season progresses.
Found himself further forward than usual one on occasion but squandered a great chance with a poor first touch in the opening half. Other than that, he was his dependable, tenacious self.
His quick feet unnerved Hull's defenders at times, and a beautiful through ball should have been converted by Medel. Netted the equaliser with aplomb on the hour.
Should have done better with an early chance, was booked for a needless tackle after 20 minutes, and almost saw a second yellow for a high challenge 10 minutes later. Rightly replaced after 65 minutes.
