Spilled a shot from Ribery in the first half but recovered the situation well and, overall, he was one of Guangzhou's better players as he made a number of fine saves. Would have been a rout had it not been for Zeng.
Made a couple of decent challenges but was left chasing shadows for the most part.
Another one who struggled terribly with the terrific movement of the fluid Bayern attack.
Defended reasonably well but was still given the run-around by Ribery on a couple of occasions.
Was totally out of his depth defensively but, to his credit, never stopped battling.
Tried to lead by example but was just not able to secure his side a foothold in the game.
Contributed absolutely nothing to the Guangzhou cause before being hauled off at the break.
Looked decent in possession but saw so little of it that he was unable to influence the game.
Showed a bit of fight and picked up a yellow for his troubles but never really managed to get his foot on the ball.
Looked a threat at times down the right-hand side but just did not see enough of the ball.
Offered absolutely nothing from an offensive perspective and was unsurprisingly replaced midway through the second half.
Barely had a save to make but swept up well on the few occasions that Guangzhou managed to get the ball forward.
Linked well with Ribery at times and laid the ball off to Gotze for Bayern's third goal. A constant menace down the left flank.
D. Van Buyten
Gave away with a couple of fouls in the middle of the park but was predictably dominant in the air.
Very composed at the back and even ventured forward on occasion, though his shooting was unsurprisingly poor.
Was always available for the overlap and defended very well, making one crucial intervention during the second half.
Passed the ball well, while some of his deliveries were excellent. Very nearly scored at the death, too, but saw his volley brilliantly saved by Zeng.
So unlucky to see a wonderful strike crash against the bar following a sublime one-two with Mandzukic. Constantly probing for openings but not quite at his best.
Seemed capable of scoring every time he got on the ball and he made it 3-0 with a terrific long-range strike. Went close to bagging himself a second, too.
Arguably Bayern's liveliest attacking player in the first half, the Spain international played a part in both goals, teeing up the second for Mandzukic with a superb cross
Looked a threat from the off so it was no surprise that he opened the scoring with a well-struck volley. Tormented Guangzhou throughout and they were glad to see the back of him with 20 minutes to go.
Had some lovely lay-offs in and around the box and had already tested Zeng before doubling Bayern's lead with a diving header.
