THE GAME IS OVER! Germany finish Group A with perfect record and Belgium crash out after Turkey defeated Azerbaijan. Ozil and Schurrle hit Belgium with a double salvo in the first half, and Gomez added a third to evaporate the Red Devils' chances of taking the three points. Marouane Fellaini pulled one back for Belgium, but it was too little, too late as the DFB-Eleven triumphed. Stay with us for our post-match materials and do not forget to join us at the weekend for our coverage of the Bundesliga! Bye, for now!
HAZARD! Lukaku picks out the Lille man on the left side of the box, but the promising youngster blasts well over the bar.
Goal Marouane Fellaini
GOAL! Fellaini claws one back! A corner from the left caught Germany;s defence by surprise and the Everton midfielder powers a header past Neuer at the near post.
Yellow Card Axel Witsel
Axel Witsel receives a yellow card for a horrible challenge on Mertesacker, while Ilkay Gundogan makes his first appearance for Germany, replacing Philipp Lahm.
Things do not look so good for Belgium as Turkey is currently leading against Azerbaijan. As things stand, the Red Devils will miss out on the play-off spot in Group A.
Unsporting behaviour from Fellaini as he slaps Khedira in the face as the players were rushing for the ball. The Everton man is lucky to escape a booking here.
Cacau replaced goalscorer Gomez a couple of minutes ago. The Brazil-born Germany international will be keen to impress in the remaining minutes.
Yellow Card Sami Khedira
Yellow card for Khedira as he stops a pass by Mertens with his hand in the centre of the pitch.
HAZARD! The starlet is allowed to shoot on the volley from outside the box, but his finish is poor and flies over the bar.
Comical situation as Gomez wants a penalty after a foul by Ventonghen, and is lying in the ground as Muller cuts back to him.
LUKAKU! The Chelsea striker does very well to dispossess Mats Hummels near the corner flag, penetrates in the area, and sends a great finish, which Neuer does very well to parry!
A quick break sees the ball go from Schurrle to Muller, who sends a decent shot right in Mignolet's hands. Mario Gomez was close to making contact with the ball.
Lahm with a dangerous cross from the left, but Khedira is beaten to the ball in the air by Kompany. That would have been a great goal for Germany.
Dries Mertens replaces Moussa Dembele for Belgium.
Ozil goes past three players on the right, but horribly misplaces a pass outside the box. Curious mistake by the Germany international, who rarely makes such errors.
Germany now controlling possession, passing the ball around. Belgium seem tired and unmotivated the mount a comeback, and seem to be waiting for positive news from the game between Turkey and Azerbaijan.
Hazard now tries to break free of Hummels and Mertesacker, but Neuer is first to the ball and claims it just ahead of the Lille star in the penalty box.
Second touch of the game for Lukaku, but the youngster is swiftly stopped by Hummels, who dispossess the Chelsea striker with ease.
Schurrle is released on the left, but loses control of the ball and is dispossessed by Lombaerts outside Belgium's box.
Vertonghen has been one of the few bright spots for Belgium tonight, but he once again sends a finish over the bar. Lukaku has been fairly anonymous since coming on.
Well, this one seems to be as good as over. However, we have seen stranger things in football. Lukaku came on for Ogunjimi at half-time.
Goal M. Gómez
GOAL! GOMEZ! SUPERB FINISH! Ozil and Gomez exchanged passes, the Bayern Munich striker skilfully evaded Kompany and placed a powerful finish in the right corner.
The second half begins ...
45' + 1'
The first half is over! Germany are leading 2-0 in Dusseldorf against Belgium, who are sinking without trace! The Red Devils had their fair share of chances, but have failed to make the count, unlike the the DFB-team, who showed ruthless efficiency in front of goal. Belgium need to pick themselves together as they need a win to secure the play-off spot.
GOMEZ! The striker is released in a one-on-one with Mignolet, but once again fails to finish past the goalkeeper. A great pass by Ozil to set up this chance.
VERTONGHEN! The defender pulled the trigger from outside the box, but Neuer pulls off an immense reflex save to turn the ball wide of the right post.
An ambitious ball from Ozil is intercepted by Fellaini deep in Belgium's half. The Red Devils look short of ideas and the defensive-minded trio of Witsel, Simons and Fellaini is certainly not helping.
Romelu Lukaku is already warming up for Belgium. The Red Devils have precious little to lose as they are already trailing by two goals.
Clinical Germany is cruising in Dusseldorf! Joachim Low's men seem to be in control a they repel attack after attack by Belgium with relative ease.
Goal Andre Schürrle
GOAL! DOUBLE SALVO FROM GERMANY! A quick break starts with Ozil, who find Gomez outside the box. The Bayern Munich striker ran forward before threading a superb ball for Schurrle, who chipped the ball over Mignolet to put Belgium in an precarious position.
Goal Mesut Özil
GOAL! STUNNER FROM OZIL! Moments after Mario Gomez failed to put the ball past Mignolet in a one-on-one, the ball gets to Ozil outside the box, and the the Real Madrid man powered a thunderous shot , which hit the bar before going in.
Witset tries to launch a Belgium counter-attack, but his pass is intercepted and so is wasted another chance for the Red Devils.
Muller goes close with a shot from outside the box, but the attacker's finish misses wide of the right post.
Mertesacker loses out in the air to Ogunjimi. Luckily for Germany, Philipp Lahm manages to clear the ball ahead of Dembele, who was ghosting on the right flank.
Ozil is released on the break, takes a few steps, but completely misplaces his pass to Muller, and a good chance for Germany on the break is wasted.
Lombaerts with a good intervention as he manages to clear the ball just ahead of Gomez and Ozil in the centre of the box. The DFB-team seem to have step up a gear in the last six minutes or so.
Now Schurrle tries his luck from range with a drive from outside the penalty area, but his finish misses way over the bar.
Kompany sends a shot on the volley just wide of the right post from outside the box. The shot hardly had enough power to seriously threaten Manuel Neuer's goal.
Germany are now calmly controlling possession and seem to have endured Belgium's early storm. We have seen precious little from the DFB-team's attacking midfield so far.
Ciman blasts a free-kick from 30 yards out into the wall, but the ball ends in Simons' feet, but his first time shot is also blocked and then collected by Germany's defence.
Ciman wins a corner on the right for Belgium, but Witsel's delivery renders the defender's work pointless as the midfielder sends the ball straight in Manuel Neuer's hands.
Hazard tries to go past four players on the left wing, but his long run is stopped by Howedes. The Red Devils are pretty aggressive early on, obviously pressing for a quick opener.
Belgium win a free-kick after a foul on Witsel by Toni Kroos. The ex-Standard man crosses, but his delivery is cleared away at the second attempt.
The first half begins ...
Belgium: Mignolet; Ciman, Vertonghen, Kompany, Lombaerts; Simons; Hazard, Witsel, Fellaini, Dembele; Ogunjimi.
