B. Höwedes 81'
S. Khedira 45'+ (own goal)
L. Messi 52'
Á. di María 73'
And that's full time. Argentina use their man advantage and beat Germany 3-1. Lionel Messi and Angel Di Maria and a Sami Khedira own goal helped the visitors to victory, and Benedikt Howedes' first international goal was a mere consolation. That's all from me, thanks for joining me...
90' + 2'
Reus collects the ball on the edge of the box, and ignores the run of Gotze, and soon loses the ball.
And we're going to have three minutes of added time here.
Schurrle cuts inside off the left and tries to find Gotze with a diagonal ball, but his pass is over-hit and Romero scampers out and claims the ball.
Schurrle is again lively as Germany go on the attack, but the hosts can't find enough space to get a shot away, and Romero claims the ball at Gotze's feet.
Argentina aren't quite done yet! Messi slips a through ball into Higuain's path, but Pipita can only send it against the post.
Howedes has looked threatening since he came on, and now he has his first international goal to show for it. Still doubt that there's a comeback on the cards.
GOAL!!! Germany pull one back! Gotze finds space in the box, pulls the ball back straight onto the head of Howedes, and the Schalke restores some pride for the hosts.
Howedes does brilliantly to spread the ball out wide, bounds into the box, but cannot get enough contact on the header to send it goal-wards.
Messi!! The Argentina captain weaves in and out of players in the Germany box and takes a ferocious shot which Ter Stegen taps onto the post.
Is a 4-0 on the cards? That would be some way to exact vengeance for the World Cup match!
It's safe to say that this is a far cry from last night's Under-21 match which saw Germany beat Argentina 6-1...
Ángel Di María
GoalÁngel Di María
WHAT A GOAL!! Angel Di Maria picks up the ball around 30 yards from goal, and sends a in a piledriver that flies past Ter Stegen.
Schurrle has had a fantastic cameo so far. The former Mainz man plays a cute one-two with Kroos, but is flagged offside when he tries to pick up the return.
Schurrle!!! The Leverkusen forward lets fly from distance, but Romero beats it away. Lovely shot.
Schurrle picks out the run of Howedes, but as the Schalke skipper is about to pass square it to a team-mate, Rojo gets across and makes the tackle. Germany appeal for a penalty, but all they get is a corner.
Messi!! The 25-year-old looks certain to notch his second of the game as he sprints clear of the Germany defence, but lifts his chip over Ter Stegen, and just past the post.
Germany win a corner in comical fashion as Zabaleta puts his goalkeeper in trouble with a dodgy back pass. But Reus' delivery is poor, and Romero claims it with ease.
And Miroslav Klose has been withdran for Schurrle. Reus is getting a run out as a No.9 - it will be interesting to see how he does.
Time is well and truly running out for the hosts to get themselves back in this one. Germany have been sub-par for large periods of the game today, all things told - a far cry from the team that beat Greece 4-2.
Di Maria is the latest Argentine attacker to find a bit of space in the box, and the Real Madrid forward smashes it across the face of goal, but Ter Stegen punches it away.
Germany have not played badly by any stretch of the imagination, but have been all too wasteful in front of goal. On this occasion, Khedira collects the ball 20 yards from goal and shoots, but drives it wide rather than passing.
Higuain latches on to a through ball and lashes a wild shot over the bar. This could get messy.
The linesman attracts the ire of the German crowd by flagging Klose offside as he looks to collect a through ball. It was the right decision though.
GOAL!! Lionel Messi atones for his penalty miss in the first half. Higuain pulls the ball across the face of goal, and the Barcelona star is there to tuck it home. And Argentina have some breathing space.
Offside! Marco Reus smashes a shot against the post. The ball bounces kindly to Khedira, who plays it to Ozil. The 23-year-old smashes puts the ball into the back of the net with ease, but German celebrations are curtailed by an offside decision against Khedira.
Scmelzer makes good ground down the left, but Zabaleta comes across, makes the tackle, and concedes the corner.
Lars Bender tries to bring the ball out of midfield, but is stopped in his tracks by a wild lunge from Mascherano.
Germany make their first dart forward, through Benedikt Howedes, but the Schalke captain fouls Rojo within the Argentina box.
And we're back. Argentina get the second half started. The first period was a treat, will we see a repeat?
Jose Sosa has left the pitch for Argentina, with Sergio Aguerocoming on to replace him.
We're just minutes from the start of the second half now. The hosts have a wealth of talent on the bench. Can some new faces spark some life back into Germany? Don't hesitate to get in touch via Twitter...
And that's half-time. A thrilling first half which saw both teams play some stunning football is undone right at the end by a calamitous own goal. We have another thrilling 45 minutes ahead - can 10-man Germany get back in this one?
45' + 4'
Di Maria tries to touch the ball back to Messi on the edge of the box, but a Germany defender nips in and gets across. They've marshaled Messi very well tonight.
45' + 3'
And Frankfurt goes silent. Germany had been so spirited, despite going a man down, and should have perhaps gone up, but they found themselves a goal down, not because of the brilliant of Argentina's front line, but completely by their own doing.
45' + 1'
Own GoalSami Khedira
GOAL!! It's a disaster for Germany. Di Maria swings an awful corner out towards the near post, and Khedira takes a swing at it, and puts the ball into his own box. Catastrophic all round.
And we're going to have four minutes of added time at the end of this first half. It's been an eventful one, despite the scoreline...
So, so close. Reus does brilliantly to release Schmelzer inside the box, and te Dortmund left-back pulls it across the face of goal, but just too far ahead of Klose, who is denied a goal by a matter of inches.
Khedira is the next player to get a great opportunity, but as the Real Madrid man is about to pull the trigger from just inside the box, Mascherano comes across and makes a vital tackle.
Messi tries to wriggle free in the box, but can't quite get the ball under control, and the opportunity is lost.
And a chance for Germany now! Reus tries to thread a through ball in for Ozil, who cannot quite reach it.
Di Maria plays a firm pas in towards Higuain, who takes a heavy first touch and Ter Stegen scampers across his line.
And Ter Stegen thwarts Messi again, beating the Barcelona forward to a through ball. He must be full of confidence right now.
Unbelievable. Ter Stegen's rival for the status as Germany's next goalkeeper, Leno, conceded five goals to Messi in March, but the Gladbach man has really staked his international credentials there...
Marc-Andre ter Stegen
Muller is the man to be sacrificed so Ter Stegen can come on...
And Ter Stegen saves Messi's penalty! Brilliant way to start your second cap...
Red CardRon-Robert Zieler
PENALTY TO ARGENTINA! Sosa tries to run onto a well-weighted through ball, Zieler comes charging out of his goal, brings the Metalist midfielder down, and the referee sends the goalkeeper off.
Reus takes a ferocious shot from distance, and appeals for a penalty as it hits an Argentine body in the box, but replays showed it struck him in his stomach, not his hand.
Yellow CardPablo Zabaleta
SAVE! Badstuber picks up the plaudits for doing just enough to put off Higuain. The Real Madrid striker's header drifts into Zieler's hands...
So, we're halfway through the first half, and it's been a thriller so far. Chances at both ends, and the only surprise is that we haven't seen a goal yet. Ozil and Reus have had the best chances for the hosts, while Higuain and Messi could have bother given the visitors the lead.
Di Maria does brilliantly to keep a ball in on the byeline, comes back inside, dazzles a couple of German defenders, but then loses the ball in his feet.
At the other end, there's a nervous moment for Germany. Di Maria collects the ball, and tries to dink a pass across the face of goal to Messi. However, Hummels sticks out a toe, and happily concedes a corner.
This time it's the other holding midfielder, Khedira, who makes a dart down the left. The Real Madrid midfielder pulls the ball back, and Muller is there to strike a ferocious shot towards goal. It seems destined for the net, only for Ozil to block it with his face!
Brilliant. Lars Bender strides forward from midfield down the left-hand side, exchanges passes with Ozil and wins a corner.
Unfortunately, Higuain has hobbled off with his head bandaged. He's come back on, but we'll see how much of a part he'll play.
After all that frantic action at both ends, we're having a momentary break in play after a clash of heads between Higuain and Hummels. Let's hope it doesn't kill the rhythm of the game!
GREAT CHANCE!! Klose makes a lovely run down the left-wing, cuts inside and plays a sumptuous ball across the face of goal, which Ozil meets, but Romero plays makes the block with his legs.
At the other end, Khedira and Muller link up well in the right-wing channel, but go into nowhere.
WHAT A MISS!! Rojo and Sosa link up well, before the full-back puts a great cross towards the far post. Higuain meets it, but blasts the his shot over! His blushes are spared by a slightly dubious offside call, but he should have buried that.
So, it's been a lively start from both teams! Argentina look eager to press their opponents all over the pitch, but Germany have had the chances. A goal soon, surely?
Another chance! Ozil swings in a free kick, and the ball just evades both Klose and Muller, and the Argentines scramble it away. Positive start from the hosts!
REUS!! The Borussia Dortmund forward beats a couple of defenders, but elects to pull it across the face of goal, rather than shoot.
Argentina boot a long ball up from the back, and Zieler beats the eager Higuain to the ball, and claims it confidently.
And we're off! The hosts get the game underway, and despite instant pressure from Higuain, manage to maintain possession.
The teams are out, we've had the national anthems. We're almost ready to go...
So. Does anyone have predictions for this heavyweight clash? Can Lionel Messi inspire Argentina to a revenge mission against the hosts? Or will Germany bounce back from their Euro 2012 disappointment and record a victory over the the South Americans? You can get in touch with me via Twitter (@eniskoylu). I look forward to hearing from you all...
