Full time in Istanbul. Real Madrid give Galatasaray an absolute hiding on their home turf as they run out 6-1 winners. Isco opened the scoring with a superb solo goal in the first half, and in the second half the floodgates opened as a Karim Benzema double and Ronaldo hat-trick saw Los Blancos start their Champions League campaign with a massive victory. I'm Martin Macdonald, thanks for joining us, see you next time!

GOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLL FOR REAL MADRID!!! SENSATIONAL FROM RONALDO!!! The Portuguese leaves Chedjou and Inan for dead inside the box with some stepovers before smashing an unstoppable strike into the top right corner! The Madrid man earns his hat-trick!
90' + 1'
BRUMAAAAAAAA!!! Unlucky from the substitute! The former Sporting Lisbon man drifts past a few challenges before lashing a left-footed strike at goal. It's straight at Diego Lopez though.
The Turk Telekom Arena has swiftly began to empty as fans aim to beat the traffic. You can't really blame them for wanting to leave this, well, massacre.
Ohhhh that's a poor challenge from Riera! Bale stretches his legs down the right-hand side but is cynically hacked down by the former Liverpool man, who earns a deserved booking.
GOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAL FOR GALATASARAY!!! A small consolation! Amrabat whips a fantastic low cross into the area and Bulut gets beyond his marker to turn the ball home! 5-1!
Madrid have absolutely destroyed Galatasaray in the second half here, a truly perfect start to their Champions League campaign.
GOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAALLLL FOR REAL MADRID!!! DEFINITELY HUNGRY FOR MORE GOALS IN SEEMS! Ronaldo breaks the offside trap and has the opportunity to go for his hat-trick, but instead tees up Benzema who taps in from close range! 5-0! What a result!
The bad news for Galatasaray is that Real Madrid look hungry for more goals. Bale goes on a signature powerful run down the right and looks to whip a cross into the area. On this occasion though, his ball inside floats out.
Final change of the match from Fatih Terim. Burak Yilmaz comes off and is replaced by Umut Bulut, a decision which is soundly booed by the home fans.
Fair play to the Galatasaray fans, they are still singing with gusto in the stands. It's a shame their players can't seem to muster up a goal to repay them.
BALE!!! GREAT SAVE FROM MUSLERA! The substitute rifles a strike at goal from the edge of the area but is foiled buy the Uruguayan, who makes a super block with his gloves!
Third and final change from Real Madrid as Asier Illarramendi enters the fray in place of Luka Modric in the middle of midfield.
It's hard to see where the Turkish champions go from here. If they continue to press ahead and look for goals they make find themselves on the end of a hiding from Madrid. Still though, they want to make the scoreline more respectable in front of their home fans.
Bale has looked bright since his introduction. He's certainly not fully fit, but a 25 minutes under his belt with the match already won will do him no harm whatsoever.
Ronaldo is now four behind Ruud Van Nistelrooy in the all-time Champions League scorers list. It would be quite a feat to surpass the prolific Dutchman.
Yellow CardNordin Amrabat
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAALLLL FOR REAL MADRID!!! LOS BLANCOS ARE RUNNING AWAY WITH THIS!! Bale whips in a free kick and Sergio Ramos powers a header at goal. Muslera makes a great save but his efforts are in vain as Ronaldo drives home the rebound! 4-0!
Second substitution from Carlo Ancelotti as he gives Gareth Bale his first taste of Champions League football with Real Madrid. Di Maria is the man withdrawn.
GOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAL FOR REAL MADRID!!! AND IT'S A SCRAPPY ONE! Di Maria stands a cross to the back post and Isco heads it back inside. The ball falls kindly to Ronaldo who blasts into the roof of the net!
Second change of the match from the hosts as Engin Baytar comes off to be replaced by Bruma, Galatasaray's new signing from Sporting Lisbon.
RONALDOOOOO!!! Not his best!! The Madrid man bursts through the centre of the defence but is put under enough pressure from Nounkeu and Chedjou that he forces his strike over!
Don't forget, in this very fixture last year in the quarter-finals, Galatasaray came from two goals down to win 3-2.
That goal could prove to be a hammerblow for the hosts, who were in the ascendancy just as Benzema scored. Still more than enough time to get back into this match though.
AssistÁngel Di María
GOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAL FOR REAL MADRIIIIIID!!!! AN INCISIVE BREAKAWAY!!! Benzema latches on to an awful defensive header from Melo and drives forward before coolly finishing into the bottom right corner! 2-0!
Eboue, who moments ago took a nasty blow to the face, shakes off his injury to burst down the right-hand side, but his resulting cross into the box is blocked by Arbeloa. Corner to the hosts.
Ancelotti's outfit may be a goal up, but this game is far from gone for Galatasaray. It's a blow losing Drogba, but they still have plenty of firepower out there.
That was a real let-off for Madrid!
BURAK YILMAZZZZ!!!! HE NORMALLY BURIES THEM!! The Turk gets on the end of a cross at the front post but instead of glancing towards goal, goes for power. His attempt goes back the way it came and wide of Diego Lopez's goal.
And it's a bit of bad news for Galatasaray at the start of the second half as Drogba has not made it out after the break. It looks like that shoulder injury has forced him off, and he'll be replaced by Nordin Amrabat.
We are back under way in Istanbul!
Half time in Istanbul. Galatasaray have put in a commendable performance in the opening 45 minutes but have been undone by an individual piece of magic from Isco. A very interesting second half is in store as both sides look to get off the mark in Champions League Group B. Join us 15 minutes for second second period, you wouldn't want to miss this one!
45' + 1'
Drogba has picked up an injury as he just appeared to fall awkwardly on his shoulder. Worrying scenes for the hosts but the Ivorian should be okay.
Modric wonderfully whips the ball out wide to Carvajal who takes the ball down with an assured first touch. However, the former Leverkusen man overhits his pass inside to Isco and the attack breaks down.
Disappointing from the Galatasaray captain as he floats the ball high in the air, allowing Sergio Ramos to dominantly head the free kick out of the box.
A real opportunity for Galatasaray to claw a goal back here as they have a set-piece in a great position in the middle of the park. Inan, who has a good delivery, will take the free kick.
Speculative effort from Burak Yilmaz. Selcuk Inan floats a ball into the box and his compatriot attempts to glance a header towards the bottom corner, but there wasn't enough pace on the attempt to bother Diego Lopez.
Isco is involved in the play once again as links up with Benzema before the Frenchman flicks a ball through for Ronaldo. Luckily for Galatasaray, the Madrid man was offside.
Ronaldo looks to get in on the goalscoring as he twists and turns on the edge of the area before rifling a left-footed strike at goal, but he Galatasaray defence remain solid to block the route to Muslera.
AssistÁngel Di María
GOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAL FOR REAL MADRID!!! THAT CAME FROM NOWHERE!!! Angel Di Maria floats a ball up top and Isco brings it down with a sensational first touch before squeezing a precise shot in off the post! 1-0! Great goal!
Yellow CardFelipe Melo
Melo takes out his frustration at that missed chance on Sami Khedira, as he just leaves the boot in. Daft though, as he's now on a yellow card.
FELIPE MELOOOO!!!! WHAT A SAVE FROM DIEGO LOPEZ!! The Brazilian rises high inside the box and powers a header towards the bottom corner, but the substitute gets down to palm the strike away from goal!!
A REAL CHANCE FOR GALATASARAY GOES BEGGING!!! Sneijder makes a clever run in behind the defence and all he needs to do is put some some pace on the pass inside to Yilmaz, but it was slow enough for Madrid to make the interception. The Turk would have had a tap in!
That's cynical from Arbeloa! Eboue shows a turn of pace down the right but has his arm pulled back from the Spaniard. He's lucky to escape going into the book!
Burak Yilmaz is putting in some shift up top here. He is relentlessly pressing and hounding the Real Madrid defence until they are forced to play back to the keeper or pump the ball up top.
Very clever attempted pass from Drogba as he looks to slide the ball across the six-yard box for his strike partner, Yilmaz, but Sergio Ramos was positioned perfectly to turn it out for a corner.
Both sides extremely guilty of some lackadaisical passing at the moment. It's a bit of a midfield battle, with some scrappy play in the centre. No real finesse.
PENALTY SHOUT FOR MADRID!! Benzema lifts the ball into the penalty are and Ronaldo just gets ahead of the ball before Nounkeu, who appears to bring down the Portuguese! No spotkick given!
Good defending from Pepe. Sneidjer sends a ball down the left-flank and Yilmaz looks to gallop inside but he is stops in his tracks by the Portuguese, who forces him off the ball and plays back to Diego Lopez.
HOW ARE GALATASARAY NOT AHEAD?! Riera whips a fantastic cross to the back post from the free kick and Melo stumbles an attempt straight into the arms of the grateful Diego Lopez! A let-off for Madrid!
Superb play from Drogba as he chases a lost cause down the right-hand side and earns a free kick from Sergio Ramos, who has now taken the captain's armband for Madrid.
Diego López Rodríguez
That's a blow for Casillas as he hasn't featured for his side before tonight since January.
No, he wont be able to continue. Madrid goalkeeper Casillas is coming off to be replaced by Diego Lopez, who has started every Spanish Primera Division match this season.
The physios have managed to stitch up the Real Madrid captain, and Diego Lopez can stop his warm-up. Keep an eye on this as the game goes on.
Some worrying scenes for Madrid at the moment as it looks like Casillas has picked up a knock on his ribs. Earlier in the match he took an elbow in the stomach from his own player, Sergio Ramos.
It's been a relatively even opening 10 minutes in Istanbul. Both Galatasaray and Real Madrid just feeling their way into proceedings.
Madrid play some nice football in and around the Galatasaray penalty area but the ball comes to Benzema, who turns into trouble and ends up losing possession. Sloppy from the Frenchman.
Ronaldooo! Just a testing shot from the former Manchester United man as he breaks away in the inside-left channel and lashes a left-footed strike at goal. It goes wide, though, and the hosts get the goal kick.
Ronaldo bursts down the left and goes down under the challenge of Eboue, but the referee waves play on and tells the Portuguese to get up.
Madrid are enjoying a small period of possession at the moment and they are being relentlessly booed by the Galatasaray faithful. I guess we can expect jeers all evening for Los Blancos!
FELIPE MELO!!!! What a start that would have been! The Brazilian fires a rocket of a strike towards the top corner but Casillas tips the ball over the bar with his fingertips. Welcome back, Iker!
Superb closing down from Yilmaz! The ball comes to Modric in a deep position but the Turk looks fired up as he hounds down the Real Madrid man. He earns an ovation from his fans.
We are under way in Turkey!
The first taste of the Champions League theme this season, glorious!
Real Madrid's pursuit of La Decima starts today folks, but they are up against formidable opponents tonight in Galatasaray. An interesting encounter in store!
A sensational banner from the Galatasaray fans here! A truly hostile atmosphere is in store for Madrid!
A chance for some retribution tonight then!
The last encounter between the sides came in the quarter-final of last year's competition, and what a match it was. The Turks came out narrow 3-2 winners, but went out of the Champions League on aggregate.
Another big spot of team news comes from Madrid also, as Iker Casillas is reinstated in goal ahead of Diego Lopez.
Galatasaray coach Fatih Terim has assured supporters that his team can compete with Europe's elite this year, and with Sneijder, Drogba, and Yilmaz in the ranks, they will certainly we a force to be reckoned with again.
The Portuguese was the top scorer in last season's competition, and with his future sorted, will be looking to get off to a flyer tonight against the Turkish champions.
However, Madrid, as always, boast an outstanding line-up of attacking talent, with Cristiano Ronaldo set to play his first match since committing his future to Los Blancos.
The big news coming from that one is obviously the absence of Gareth Bale from the Los Blancos line-up. The Welshman is on the bench tonight, so will be forced to wait a little while longer to make his Champions League debut for Ancelotti's men.
Real Madrid (4-2-3-1): Casillas; Carvajal, Ramos, Pepe, Arbeloa; Khedira, Modric; Di Maria, Isco, Ronaldo; Benzema
Galatasaray (4-3-1-2): Muslera; Eboue, Chedjou, Nounkeu, Riera; Melo, Inan, Baytar; Sneijder; Drogba, Yilmaz
