Commentary

That is all for tonight folks, thanks for joining us. Goodbye!!
France's momentum continues after their World Cup success and they will be tough to beat if they can maintain a similar level of performance in the coming months. Koeman is starting to improve his side but they were a level below France for the majority of the 90 minutes.
France make it five wins in a row against Netherlands thanks to a gutsy display at the Stade de France. Mbappe was the main danger in the first half but Netherlands dug in and made life difficult. Babel thought he had done enough to rescue a point until Giroud's piledriver settled the contest.
90' + 4' FULL TIME - France 2-1 Netherlands.
90' + 3' One final scare as Netherlands try to latch onto a loose pass in the France box but Areola comes out and makes sure it remains 2-1.
90' + 1' Four minutes of stoppage time given at the Stade de France.
90' Stoppage time is nearly upon us and France look to have done enough. Giroud's stunning volley the difference at present...
O. Dembélé
O. Giroud
France
89' Nice touch from Deschamps to allow Giroud to get a round of applause as he leaves the field. On comes Dembele for the final few minutes.
L. de Jong
R. Babel
Netherlands
88' Babel gets a good reception as he is replaced by De Jong.
84' Blind gets in behind the France defence and produces another teasing cross but Areola deals with it at the near post.
83' Into the final 10 minutes and France remain in control on home soil. Babel and Depay will need to be watched closely but Netherlands have still not created enough tonight so far.
D. Janmaat
K. Tete
Netherlands
82' Straight swap from Koeman as Janmaat comes on for Tete.
82' The Netherlands have conceded more than one goal in a game for the first time in 11 matches. The last time they did that was against Les Bleus.
S. Nzonzi
A. Griezmann
France
81' Deschamps looks like he is making changes in order to see this game out. Griezmann off and on comes Nzonzi.
B. Pavard
Yellow Card
France
80' A naughty tackle off the ball from Pavard seems him receive a yellow card. The right-back seemed to rake his studs down the calf of Babel.
79' BLOCK! Pogba picks out Mbappe and the striker uses his pace to get into the box. However, he is tracked all the way by Van Dijk and the centre-back throws himself into the path of his shot.
78' France reclaim momentum and the home crowd are now enjoying themselves once again!
R. Vormer
Q. Promes
Netherlands
76' During France's celebrations, Promes was replaced by Vormer.
B. Mendy
Assist
France
74' Mendy should also get plenty of praise for his powerful cross that allowed Giroud to get in front of Van Dijk.
O. Giroud
Goal
France
74' GOAAAALLLL WHAT A STRIKE!!!!! France 2-1 Netherlands. Giroud finally ends his poor run in front of goal and he does it in style. The striker reacts to a cross and wraps his left foot around the ball and the shot is too hot for Cillessen to handle.
72' France were in total control before the hour mark but it is now Koeman's team that are setting the tempo and trying to find the winning goal.
69' Depay shoots into the side netting and that now makes it three chances in five minutes for Netherlands. This game has finally come alive and we could be in for an exciting final 20 minutes.
R. Babel
Goal
Netherlands
67' GOAAAALLLLLLL France 1-1 Netherlands - Babel levels matters for Netherlands. France fall asleep at the back and the former Liverpool man becomes the first man to score past the new world champions since they won the trophy in July.
K. Tete
Assist
Netherlands
67' Tete works a beautiful one-two before picking out Babel with a first-time cross and the striker cushions the ball past Areola.
65' WIDE - De Ligt prods a pass over the top of the France defence and Wijnaldum latches onto it as he tries to level matters. Umtiti nearly brings him down but the Liverpool man gets away from his marker but shoots wide of the target. That is a huge chance!
63' Netherlands win another free-kick but the cross is poor once again and Van Dijk goes forward with no reward. That is one area of the game that Koeman's men need to improve and quickly.
B. Mendy
L. Hernández
France
62' First change of the night sees Manchester City's Mendy replace Hernandez.
60' Griezmann's poor night in front of goal continues as he shoots wide from outside the box. He received the ball from Hernandez but could not find the bottom corner and it remains 1-0.
58' Boos can be heard as De Ligt clatters into Giroud but the referee is adamant that the ball was won as Netherlands are awarded a goal kick.
A. Griezmann
Yellow Card
France
56' Atletico Madrid forward Griezmann becomes the first man into the referee's book as he pulls down Wijnaldum.
54' The set piece is wasted as Koeman's side go short and the ball in is claimed by Areola.
53' Netherlands win a corner and Van Dijk will be the man to watch as they try to find an equaliser...
51' Mbappe is given too much space on the right wing and he decides to drive inside and make his way to the penalty area. Netherlands defenders eventually do close him down but he has time to shoot over the bar.
49' Matuidi tries to thread the ball through to Griezmann but his pass is blocked on the edge of the box.
48' Unlike the first half, France seem to be taking their time on the ball as they try to find their rhythm at the start of the second half.
46' We are back underway at the Stade de France.
There is definitely a feeling that they will be more goals in this game but Netherlands need to improve if they are to find themselves on the scoresheet.
The referee ends the first half and Mbappe's simple finish is the difference so far. The former Monaco man has been the star of the show, while Pogba has also stood out at the Stade de France. Netherlands have tried to unsettle the home side but they have struggled to mark Mbappe, Griezmann and Matuidi.
45' HALF-TIME - France 1-0 Netherlands.
43' France have just taken their foot off the gas at the moment and they seem happy to be heading into the break with a one-nil advantage.
41' Route one football from France as Varane picks out Giroud but the Chelsea man seems to lose his bearings and he heads straight up into the air.
39' PENALTY CLAIM - Mbappe goes down in the box after a challenge from Cillessen but the Barcelona stopper got a touch to the ball.
37' France have looked sharp on the ball and they are also getting back in the numbers. They have totally outclassed Netherlands and they will feel they are good enough to get a second goal before the break.
34' Tete brings down Matuidi to give France a free-kick but nothing comes of the set piece. Umtiti did meet the cross but he could only cushion the ball into Cillessen.
32' The scoreline remains 1-0 as the home side head away with ease.
31' Netherlands win a free-kick on the edge of the France box...
29' Depay drops deep to collect possession and he plays it out wide and Netherlands start an attack. Nice and simple from the Lyon man but it is exactly what is needed at this stage.
27' Mbappe has been involved in 10 goals with France in 2018 (8 goals, 2 assists), three more than any other French player.
24' France win a free-kick and Griezmann's floating cross is met by Mbappe but the forward can only head it into the path of goalkeeper Cillessen.
22' Ronald Koeman's side have just started to reclaim some possession in the last few minutes but they are not making much ground.
21' The Mexican wave has already started...
19' Griezmann slices the Netherlands defence in two as he plays in Hernandez but the left-back falls as he tries to shoot and he blazes his effort into the stands.
18' Netherlands have now conceded the opener in each of their last four games, with the goal coming in the first 15 minutes on three occasions.
16' Netherlands have shot themselves in the foot with that goal and they are now being pegged back into their own half. Hernandez and Pavard are practically playing as wingers and this could be a long night for the visitors if this carries on.
B. Matuidi
Assist
France
14' Matuidi claims the assist and he deserves all the plaudits after he drilled the ball across goal to give Netherlands players too much to do and Mbappe was left unmarked.
K. Mbappé
Goal
France
14' GOAAALLLLL France 1-0 Netherlands!!!! The roof comes off the Stade de France as Mbappe taps into an empty net to give his team the lead. A shocking header from Promes plays Matuidi into the Netherlands box and his cross tees up Mbappe who cannot miss.
13' France register another shot on goal but this one is a little tame. Left-back Hernandez dribbles his way to the edge of the box but he seems to get caught in two minds as he curls a shot into the hands of Cillessen.
11' CHANCE - Mbappe latches onto a cross inside the box but he shoots straight down the throat of Cillessen who falls to the floor and takes his time before restarting the game.
10' Manchester United's Pogba has been very busy early on and his passing has caught the eye. The crowd are firmly behind him as he tries to help his team open the scoring.
7' Deschamps' men have started slightly better with Netherlands putting the majority of their team behind the ball.
5' France won the World Cup by playing on the counter but tonight they mean business and they have started with plenty of attacking intent.
3' CLOSE - Netherlands respond immediately and Promes tries his luck from the edge of the box but his shot curled past the far post.
2' CHANCE - France fly forward on the counter attack and Mbappe gets in behind before turning into the box and blasting a shot towards goal. However, the Paris Saint-Germain man is denied at the near post by Cillessen.
1' We are underway at the Stade de France...
1' De Ligt gets away with one as he brings down Griezmann after being nutmegged. Referee Alberto Undiano could have easily shown him the first yellow card.
Both Propper and Promes are handed starts after starting on the bench for Netherlands in their 2-1 friendly win over Peru on Thursday night.
It is the same team for France following their clash with Germany last time out. Areola was brilliant in that fixture and he retains his spot with Hugo Lloris injured.
