Had almost nothing to do other than pick the ball out of the back of his net. Had no chance with Bacuna's strike and did well when put under pressure with the ball at his feet.
Again struggled at right-back as a number of his passes went astray. Unable to get forward as effectively as the man he replaced, the injured Seamus Coleman.
Won some fantastic tackles facing his own goal but struggled with his passing out of defence. Did his best to get his side going after falling behind.
Not quite back to full fitness but marked Holt out of the game on his return to the side. Pace of old wasn't quite there but brought the ball out of defence well.
One of his poorest showings in an Everton shirt as he struggled with his balls into the box. Marshalled well by Bacuna on the Toffees' left.
Was one of few Everton players to run forward with the ball, though his passing was somewhat wayward. Lost the ball inside his own half for Bacuna's opener before being replaced at the break.
Cracked the post early on with fantastic bending effort and looked a threat whenever he ran with the ball at his feet. Did become predictable, though, as he continuously cut inside onto his left foot.
The best of Everton's performers as he looked to drive the side on as well as intercepting a number of passes in the middle of the park.
Another to disappoint as his passing was unusually suspect against his former club. Seemed to lack some urgency in the second half.
Saw the game pass him by in the first half but proved more of a focal point after the break as he was moved inside. Still wasteful in front of goal.
Failed to lead the line on his own as he spent much of the afternoon in an offside position. More than made up for it with stunning late free kick to seal the points.
Had precious little to do in the visitors' goal as Everton failed to muster many attempts on target. Marshalled the three defenders in front of him throughout and could nothing about either goal.
Another excellent display from the visitors' captain was marred by a lazy attempt to stop Pienaar's pass that was finished off by Naismith.
Continues to look experienced beyond his years at the heart of the Villa defence as he won plenty of key challenges and pretty much marked Mirallas out of the game. A silly foul marked his copybook as Mirallas fired in the resulting free kick.
Got to grips with McGeady fairly early on and looked assured at left-back. Got forward well and dispossessed the hosts on a number of occasions.
An absolute rock at the heart of the Villa defence as he cleared umpteen times as well as running a watertight offside trap that repeatedly caught Mirallas out.
Never stopped running as he put in an all action display full of fantastic passing and hard tackles. His dispossession of Barkley to help set up Bacuna was the highlight.
Kept the ball well in the middle of the park as he looked to keep Villa moving forward. Almost allowed Osman in to equalise in a rare lapse of concentration in the second period.
Kept Baines very quiet and took his fourth goal of the season with superb composure. Possibly could have got tighter to Pienaar in the build-up to the equaliser.
Kept Jagielka and Distin occupied all afternoon, though was fortunate to see a header at the other end flash just wide of his own post. Well weighted ball sent Bacuna in for the opener.
Saw the game largely pass him by as he struggled to support the strike duo of Benteke and Holt. Pace caused some problems on the counter though he rarely got on the ball.
Barely had a touch on his full debut before being replaced early in the second half. Couldn't add to impressive record against the Toffees.
The hosts instantly looked brighter after his introduction and superb reverse pass to set Naismith free showcased much of his talent.
Excellent run in behind Vlaar saw him grab an equaliser and really should have had two, only to head straight at Guzan after being given the freedom of the six-yard box.
