Live Commentary

  • That's all from me, Greg Taylor, have a good weekend.
  • So Palace get their first draw and clean sheet of the season, a valuable point in their fight aganst relegation. Martinez will be frustrated with his sides lack of killer instinct and overall sluggish display. Keith Millen will be upset because he knows his side could have won it, three golden opportunities wasted. Palace remain bottom, while Everton move up to fifth.
  • 90' + 6'
    And there's the final whistle!
  • 90' + 4'
Palace fans are still singing as loud as they were at the beginning. Incredible support here at Selhurst Park.
  • 90' + 1'
Can anyone find a winner? Everton as usual have all the possession, but as usual Palace keep them at arms length. Barkley knocks a ball into the back post but its headed away. Coleman and Moxey are receiving some treatment after clashing in the air.
  • 89'
Another silly foul by a Palace player and Everton have another free kick. Deulofeu takes it but it's cleared away by Puncheon. Everton heap on the pressure and have their seventh corner.
  • 88'
Everton awarded a free kick in Baines' territory. It will be him who takes it but it's straight into the wall. That sums up his day. Wasteful.
  • 87'
    Yellow Card Mile Jedinak
  • 86'
Can Palace hold on and gain their first clean sheet of the season. Or better still, their first win since beating Sunderland in August.
  • 85'
    SubstitutionJerome Thomas Jason Puncheon
  • 84'
Jerome Thomas is unable to continue so Jason Puncheon is going to come on and replace him. I wonder if Thomas is thinking about his miss earlier?
  • 82'
Everton have another corner and it will be Baines to take it. It goes out for another corner but is over hit and Palace have a throw. Baines really has struggled with his delivery today.
  • 80'
Everton now on top but the three points are still very much up for grabs here. Palace are holding on well but are looking a little weary and vulnerable.
  • 78'
CLOSE! Baines whips in the corner and it takes a wicked deflection falling to Jagielka who heads it against the bar. The closest Everton have come and they still have 12 minutes to find a winner.
  • 76'
Still no end product by the Everton players. Lukaku gets the ball on the egde of the box and lays it off to Deulofeu who is tackled in the 6-yard box and it goes out for a corner.
  • 74'
Ward knocks it wide to Jerome on the left, he cuts inside and shoots but Coleman gets the block and Palace have a corner. It's punched away and Everton regain possession.
  • 73'
Everton have a corner. It's taken by Baines but again the delivery is poor and Palace can come away with the ball and break.
  • 71'
A lot of these Palace players will know what it's like to be in a relegation scrap. They have 19 relegation's between them. Today they are showing a real fight and continue to frustrate Everton.
  • 69'
Everton really are struggling with the final ball today. McCarthy runs at the Palace defence and wins a free-kick on the right hand side of the penalty area. Can Baines deliver?
  • 67'
Fantastic play by Bolasie down the right, he holds off two or three Everton defenders and pokes a through ball to Jerome Thomas but he is offside.
  • 65'
Another long diagonal ball awards Palace with a throw-in. Distin stands up to Jerome and Everton clear the ball away to safety.
  • 63'
    SubstitutionMarouane Chamakh Cameron Jerome
  • 63'
The way the game has been played you could see a goal from either side. You would think if Everton score Palace will rollover, but if the Eagles can nick the lead, it'd be a fascinating end to the game.
  • 61'
Keith Millen looks to be ready to make a change. And it's Marouane Chamakh who is going to make way for Cameron Jerome.
  • 59'
Jedinak fouls Barkley in the centre cricle and Everton have a free kick. Barkley is already causing Palace some problems. Baines sends another cross from the left out and over. Not had a great game today young Leighton.
  • 57'
Barkley immediately into the action, works a neat one-two with Lukaku on the egde of the box and drives a powerful shot just wide.
  • 56'
    SubstitutionKevin Mirallas Gerard Deulofeu
  • 56'
    SubstitutionLeon Osman Ross Barkley
  • 55'
Palace really are growing into this game. Everton need to do something and Martinez is bringing on two youngsters in Ross Barkley and Gerard Deulofeu. Everton have looked a little sluggish this half, fresh legs might help.
  • 53'
CHANCE! Jerome Thomas beats the offside trap and is one-on-one with Howard, he goes for an audacious chip and puts it wide. Big big miss. How many more chances are they going to waste?
  • 52'
Another long ball by Moxey isn't properly cleared by Distin, it falls to Moxey again but he hits it well over.
  • 50'
Palace definitely trying to play the long ball. Jedinak plays it into space but Baines deals with it well and knocks it out of play.
  • 49'
Everton on top in the opening exchanges. Steven Pienaar is limping on the far side, Martinez will have to keep an eye on him.
  • 46'
    SubstitutionKagisho Dikgacoi Stuart O'Keefe
An early change for Palace as Staurt O'Keefe replaces Kagiso Dikgacoi, who injured his thigh before returning to the field.
  • 46'
Osmnan and Lukaku get us going again as both sides look to break the deadlock.
  • The teams are back out for the second half, we will be underway very shortly.
  • If all results stays the same, Palace will remain at the bottom of the pile but Everton will climb to fifth.
  • Everton have had all the possession, 71% to be precise. However they have struggled in the final third despite some tidy play down the left flank. Martinez was looking frustrated and will know his side could be losing at half-time. He may make some changes to find a way through Palace's resilient defence. Keith Millen can be encouraged by his side's efforts and will hope for more of the same, but just hope one if his players can finish.
  • 45' + 2'
And there is the half-time whistle! Still 0-0 but Palace should be leading after two glaring misses by Dikgacoi and Chamakh.
  • 45' + 1'
Everton trying to fashion a chance before the break but Palace are happy for them to play it around in front of them.
  • 44'
Palace conceded just before half-time last weekend and won't want that to happen again. It almost does though as Osman breaks through the middle and fires it on target but Speroni keeps hold it.
  • 43'
The Palace fans are singing loud and proud to keep their team going to half-time. And why not? They should be leading this game and they know it.
  • 41'
Despite all Everton's possession they've been unable to create a meaningful chance. Martinez will have to shake things up if it continues like this.
  • 39'
CLOSE! Keith Millen needs to teach his players how to head the ball. Bannan floats a cross in from the right, Chamakh meets it but heads it wide. It should be 1-0 to Palace.
  • 38'
Will Palace rue that miss? Apparently not. Thomas curls one into the top right hand corner only for Howard to tip it over. Palace have a corner.
  • 36'
HOW DID HE MISS THAT? Fantastic cross from the left by Thomas and it falls on a plate for Dikgacoi but he somehow makes a dreadful connection with it from six yards out and heads it wide.
  • 35'
Jedinak on the ball. By far their best player this season, they need to get him more involved if they want to score.
  • 33'
Ex-Palace striker Mark Bright in the stands. Oh how they could do with a player like him these days. Moxey gets down the left and crosses straight to Tim Howard. Even he would struggle scoring with this service.
  • 31'
Goal kick for Palace taken by Speroni but it comes straight back to him as Pienaar whips in a delicious ball from the left. It evades everyone and the Eagles are able to breathe again.
  • 29'
How many times has Gareth Barry tackled Palace's front line. The way he plays is so integral to Everton's style, allowing them to counter attack at will.
  • 27'
Everton continue to mount the pressure. Switching it from right to left, patiently waiting for their opportunity. Lukaku so far has been kept very quiet by Delaney.
  • 25'
Palace just can't get it clear. Every time they get the ball, they give it away almost immediately. It's a credit to how hard Everton are pressing the Eagles.
  • 23'
Osman plays it wide to Mirallas who is popping up everywhere. McCarthy collects the ball from 25 yards out and hits it high and wide. A sign of Everton's frustration.
  • 22'
CLOSE! Great play by Everton, Mirallas receives it on the left wing, he cuts inside and shoots from the edge of the box. Great save by Speroni. Corner taken by Baines, but it's a poor delivery and goes straight out of play.
  • 21'
The game slightly held up in the middle at the moment, both Barry and Moxey give the ball away cheaply.
  • 19'
Corner punched away by Howard but it comes out to Bolasie who decides to shoot from 30 yards. It trickles wide, poor decision.
  • 18'
Terrific ball by Bannan from the centre of the field, in between Jagielka and Distin. The pressure tells and Palace have a corner.
  • 16'
Mirallas plays it wide to McCarthy whose shot is blocked by Delaney. Good defending by the Eagles. But right now, it seems like just a matter of time before the Toffees take the lead.
  • 14'
Palace enjoying their best spell of possession, long ball from left to right into the box falls to Chamakh, but his first touch is poor and Baines is able to clear for a Palace corner.
  • 12'
CLOSE! Everton working it around the pitch, Martinez-esque, and Baines finds himself in the box, he cuts it back to Osman who heads wide from 6 yards out. Should have done better.
  • 10'
Baines in acres of space on the left, but Mirallas' pass is way off target and it will be a Palace goal-kick.
  • 8'
Palace get a free kick after Lukaku tries to bundle his way past Gabbidon and Delaney.
  • 6'
CHANCE! Great play between Lukaku and Baines down the left wing, the England full-back plays it into Osman, who strikes at goal only to see it go just wide.
  • 4'
Palace are awarded a fee-kick, taken by Bannan about 25-yards out. However it's wasted as Jedinak is penalised for pushing Coleman in the back.
  • 3'
Some poor play by Everton, Jagielka takes too long to play the ball back to Howard, which allows Chamakh to press. A nervy back pass results in Howard having to make a last ditch clearance.
  • 1'
Everton have a man down already. Pienaar had gone to ground after clashing his head with Ward. But after being checked over, Pienaar is ok to continue.
  • We are underway at Selhurst Park!
  • Not long now the players are out on the pitch warming up.
  • So who is going to take over at Palace? Perhaps more importantly who wants to. Just one win in 10 league games, they need to get someone in quickly otherwise it's going to be too late.
  • In the meantime here's a few stats. Romelu Lukaku has scored in all three of his Everton away games. Few would bet against him continuing that streak. Well, perhaps some hopeful Palace fans.
  • DEALY! I'm sorry to say but today's afternoon kick-off has been put back until 3.15pm. Nothing to do with broken floodlights or torrential downpours but because there is traffic in Croydon. That's right, traffic in Croydon.
  • Only one side has ever had fewer than three points from their opening 10 Premier League games: Manchester City (two) in 1995-96. So can Palace do anything about it, let’s find out.
  • Everton substitutes' bench: Robles, Heitinga, Jelavic, Deulofeu, Naismith, Barkley, Stones
  • Palace substitutes' bench: Price, Mariappa, O'Keefe, Puncheon, Kebe, Gayle, Jerome
  • Unfortunately for Palace, Guedioura is out for six weeks after suffering two broken ribs and a punctured lung at last weekend's defeat at The Hawthorns. Everton’s Arouna Kone is expected to be out for the rest of the season but vitally Lukaku is fit despite taking a heavy knock after colliding with Totteham’s Hugo Lloris last week.
  • Everton (4-5-1): Howard; Baines, Jagielka, Distin, Coleman; McCarthy, Barry, Pienaar, Osman, Mirallas; Lukaku.
  • Crystal Palace (4-3-3): Speroni; Moxey, Gabbidon, Delaney, Ward; Jedinak, Dikgacoi, Bannan; Thomas, Chamakh, Bolasie.
  • The teams are in, so let's have a quick look at those before kick-off...
  • With Palace still managerless, mustering just two goals in their last seven games and seemingly unable to defend, Everton’s attacking force of Mirallas, Lukaku and Pienaar will be hungry to add to Palace’s misery.
  • My name is Greg Taylor and I'll be your host to this afternoon for what will be undoubtedly another entertaining English Premier League fixture.
  • Good afternoon and welcome to our LIVE commentary at Selhurst Park that pits bottom of the table Crystal Palace against seventh placed Everton. Palace are hoping to stop the rot after losing to West Brom last weekend to make it seven defeats on the bounce while Everton will be aiming to push on after a decent 0-0 draw with Tottenham last time out.
