The visitors will hope to bounce back...
Cagliari have made a good start to the 2010-11 Serie A campaign and are currently sixth in the league standings with five points from three matches. The Sardinians drew 0-0 with Bari in the lunchtime kick-off but Cagliari president Massimo Cellino is not happy with the timing.
"I would scrap them if the television contracts allowed it," he said, according to Reuters. "It was a mistake. [Issues like the heat] were undervalued and I think that there is no price to pay which justifies a sacrifice like that. I hope there's time to review the idea."
Cagliari are strong at home and will attempt to take maximum points against Sampdoria on Wednesday evening.
Sampdoria suffered their first league defeat of the season on Sunday evening when they went down 2-1 to Napoli in Genoa. The result has dragged them to the lower half of the Serie A table.
However, Daniele Gastaldello believes that his side can bounce back from the loss but says that they need to be more focussed.
"It's a matter of concentration. We must all be focused and united until the end, because it is normal that opponents will throw everything at you in the last minutes to retrieve something from the game," Gastaldello told Sampdoria's official website.
Samp are not good travellers but in order to compete for a top four place they need to get all three points in Sardinia on Wednesday evening.
Biasi and Conti are out injured.
