Serie A Preview: Cagliari - Roma

Claudio Ranieri's side will attempt to bag maximum points...

Home Comfort

Cagliari commenced Serie A 2010-11 with a 0-0 draw against Palermo away from home. It was a fair and encouraging result since Palermo are expected to be challenge for a top six place and are also very strong at home.

The Sardinians are not anticipated to do much in the league but they will like to stay in mid-table. A win at home on Saturday evening would be a good way to start the proceedings at the Stadio Sant'Elia.

Winning Again

Roma's start to the new league season was supposed to be straightforward enough as they had to take on newly promoted Cesena at the Stadio Olimpico but Claudio Ranieri's side failed to score and were held to a 0-0 draw.

Although in the wider scheme of things with Inter failing to win too in their opening game of the league campaign, it might not prove to be a bad result but the Lupi must make sure that they win this weekend. Roma could have won the Scudetto last season had they made a brighter start to their title challenge and they must not make the same mistake.

Borriello will be keen to impress for his new club and hoping to start off things with a win. The Italian can score goals and is a good striker but his exit from Milan will give him fodder to prove his critics wrong.
