Conceded two goals but was left out to dry by his defence somewhat and also made several solid saves. Nevertheless, he probably should have done better on Miltio's early strike despite how close it was.
Was guilty of miscontrolling the ball on several occasions and otherwise had a pretty average game. Nothing special but nothing terrible either.
Scored a fantastic goal despite being pulled down by Ranocchia and did well to command his area. Like his fellow defenders, however, must share some of the blame for the goals conceded.
One of the more invisible players, perhaps due more to those around him than any inherent fault of his own.
Caught out of position on the first goal and generally could have expected to do better against the Inter frontline, who look rejuvenated under Stramaccioni.
Proved to be a bit of a handful for Inter, going on an excellent solo run during the first half, having a header flash wide of goal, and earning a free kick that went on to hit the post. Unlucky not to score.
Forced a late save from Castellazzi but was booked for a needless and violent challenge on Forlan. Might have been expected to assert himself more dominantly in the midfield.
Had a quiet match compared to some of his team-mates but still put the Inter defence under pressure with smart movements and shooting.
Assisted the first goal via his corner and was full of creativity. Was everywhere in the first half but faded somewhat in the second before being booked for protesting.
The centre of attention. Booked for shoving Samuel, was everywhere up front, scored the side's second goal, and was sent off for celebrating. Influential but for the wrong reasons as well as the right ones.
Ran his heart out for his side but wasn't as involved in the build-up for either goal as his team-mates were. His movement and pressing added to his team, however.
Made several fantastic saves and was blameless on both goals as his defence let him down immensely. Will be upset to have not kept a clean sheet after saves like his one on Conti.
Doesn't age, doesn't tire, doesn't perform poorly. Zanetti was absolutely everywhere and owned the left flank for much of the match, putting many of his younger team-mates to shame with his effort and skill.
Made numerous important clearances and was a threat himself on set pieces. Maybe was out of position on Pinilla's goal but was doing the work of two centre-backs for much of the night. An astute display.
Had an absolute shocker. The first goal was almost entirely his fault as he fell behind Astori and then dragged him down as well, and nearly gifted Pinilla a goal as well minutes later. Memorably ran forward and passed directly to Cagliari on a counter; not the player that was once at Bari.
The quietest of Inter's back line, who committed a few too many fouls but also nearly had an assist when he found Zarate in the box.
Had a crucial intervention in the 11th minute, forced Agazzi into hitting the upright later in the first half, had a weak effort from a free kick, and most importantly, scored the second goal. Vital.
Was seemingly everywhere in his first start for Inter. Committed some silly fouls but also was instrumental in pushing the side forward and did well in his defensive duties too.
A very unusual match based on his standards, and didn't shoot anywhere near as much as he would have liked to. Was furious as his shot in the second half got deflected out for a corner.
Loves to drop deep and help his team orchestrate attacks. His influence is waning as he ages but he assisted Cambiasso's goal and always tried to push his team forward.
Alternated equally between genius and frustrating. Looks revived under Stramaccioni and had a great shot in the 79th and assisted the first goal but gave away the ball often and was guilty of awful decision making at times.
Poked home Zarate's cross perfectly for Inter's opener and was excellent in the first half but much more anonymous in the second.
- 21 P. Orlandoni
- 55 Y. Nagatomo
- 2 I. Córdoba
Had less than 10 minutes to come on and make a difference.
Came on during the second half for Guarin but could not exert himself as he should have once Cagliari went down a man.
- 17 A. Palombo
Had about 15 minutes and nearly scored right at the death. Looked sharp at times but couldn't find the winner.
