Could not help either goal as his central defenders badly let him down on two occasions.
Provided little in attack and looked suspect at times defensively.
Tugged back Robben in the opening minutes to concede a penalty, which Van Persie scored. Hardly the solidity that was predicted by his return.
Shambolic once again, heading a cross right into the path of Blind, who duly headed in the second. All over the place.
Got forward a lot but despite one or two promising balls, his impact in the offensive third was limited.
Only showed flashes of what he's capable of. Improved his distribution in the second half but still lacked the X-factor.
Left cavernous gaps in the midfield on a number of occasions when Netherlands broke forward.
A willing runner as always, but his lack of quality on the ball was sorely visible on a few occasions.
Did not fare much better than Gustavo in the midfield, as he was stymied offensively and gullible in his own half.
The main driving force for his side as he tried to make things happen in the final third. A lot of good for Brazil was funneled through him.
Looked rusty and lacked the quality to make a difference. His play on the ball was far too ponderous.
Dealt with everything thrown his way - which was not a whole lot.
S. de Vrij
The Brazilian runners were no match for his exemplary positioning throughout the game.
Handled everything in the air and was not often bested on the ground either. Confident display.
B. Martins Indi
Coughed up a fair number of dangerous free kicks close to his own area. Struggled mightily when isolated.
His running on and off the ball was critical as always. Won a penalty in the opening exchanges with a burst of speed.
J. de Guzmán
Picked up a yellow card for a careless foul and was similarly irresponsible at times in possession.
Efficient passing throughout though he lacked a little in dynamism. A solid game overall.
Cracked in the second goal from inside the area after he was left all alone to strike. Pushed forward efficiently.
Attempted to link play often with his attacking teammates but as the match wore on, his influence waned.
R. van Persie
Buried a penalty confidently early on but was isolated for a lot of the game. Did not have much of a golden chance after that.
Motored up and down the flanks with his typical commitment, but he rarely produced quality with his final ball.
