The Selecao come out on top, as expected, with a 2-0 aggregate scoreline. The hosts were the better team throughout as Argentina struggled to attack as they looked to contain the Brazil's forwards.
Into the closing minutes now. Brazil have deserved their win in a vastly improved game from the first leg.
Full time here in Belem! BRAZIL WIN THE SUPERCLASICO DE LAS AMERICAS!
Bruno Cortes leaves the field after an impressive attacking display. It would have been interesting to see him defend a bit more but he was rarely tested.
Yellow Card Danilo
Yellow Card Lucas Viatri
VIATRI GOES CLOSE! Great turn in the box from the Boca forward as he shows great strength to shield the ball. His fierce shot was helped over the bar by Jefferson. Argentina playing some good football as Brazil seem content to sit back and wait for the counter attack.
Beautiful ball from Neymar and Fred attempts to find Ronaldinho with the knock down. Papa intercepts and clears the ball to thwart another Brazilian counter attack.
Close from Argentina! Papa's ball in is knocked back across goal by Pablo Mouche. His header hits Desabato and goes wide of the post with Jefferson scrambling after it.
Iván Alexis Pillud
Argentina come close after a defensive error from Bruno Cortes but Jefferson turns the effort wide. The corner leads to nothing and Brazil regain possession.
NEYMAR SCORES!! The substitute Diego Souza is played in Bruno Cortes who looks a different player to the first half. Souza's cross is turned in off of Neymar's shin for not the prettiest goal, but they celebrate in style!
After a great display from Lucas Moura, Diego Souza has a lot to live up to. The Vasco da Gama player has been in superb form in the Brasileiro recently and scored a hat-trick at the weekend.
Yellow Card Leandro Desábato
Argentina show that they too can play some attractive football. A lovely build up leads to Fernandez crossing the ball but Bolatti's header is too tame and dribbles into the grip of Jefferson.
Bruno Cortes is proving to be a real handful going forward. He is continually getting forward and creating chances for his side.
So close! Bruno Cortes does well to get in behind the Argentina defence and he delivers a dangerous ball. However, no Brazilian player can get on the end of it and the ball is cleared away.
How will Argentina react? After losing a goal to a counter attack with a rare opportunity they will be sorely disappointed.
GOOOOAAAALLLL! Lucas Moura tucks the ball away with a neat finish after a counter attack by the Selecao. Argentina's corner was turned into an attack by Bruno Cortes great ball that disected the defence and allowed the Sao Paulo youngster in to put his side ahead.
FERNANDEZ! He should have done better. Latching onto Viatri's knock down he smashes his shot straight at Jefferson.
A Mexican Wave passes along the crowd which is never a good sign for the quality of what they are witnessing. They will continue to grow more an more impatient if their team fail to test Orion.
Scrappy start to the first half but Brazil are keen to keep the game flowing with a quick free kick at the half way line.
Orion gathers from Danilo's cross. Just a reminder, if the scores are level tonight the game will go to a penalty shootout as the away goals rule is inactive.
We're off! Brazil begin the second half.
The players have emerged from the tunnel and we will shortly be commencing the second half. Brazil need to find an end product, Argentina need to commit more to the counter attack to test Jefferson.
The second half should be beginning shortly. Hopefully we will finally get some goals in what has been, on the whole, a disappointing spectacle.
Neither goalkeeper has been particularly troubled despite a vast improvement in the quality of play in comparison to the last encounter. Lucas Moura has perhaps been the best player on the pitch. His pace is causing Papa some serious problems down Brazil's right hand side.
Brazil have had the better of the first half but the Argentina defence has been stubborn and stifled many of their attacking plays.
The referee blows for half time with the scores still level at 0-0. The 45000 fans in Belem are yet to be treated to a goal.
Two minutes of stoppage time to play. Both sides seem content to go in to the break level.
Oooohh! Emiliano Papa's poor control allows Lucas Moura to get a shot away. His volley is sliced wide as he snatched at the opportunity.
We're getting closer! Desabato heads wide for Brazil from a free kick on the left. If he had left it Viatri may have been better placed to work Jefferson between the Brazilian sticks.
NEYMAR... How did he miss! Borges spots Lucas Moura peeling away from the defence and finds him with a delightful reverse pass. The Sao Paulo forward's ball across the box is deflected away from Neymar to deny him a tap in at the back post.
The Selecao are struggling to break down Argentina's defence. They are being stifled down the wings and closed quickly in the middle.
Wild attempt from Ronalinho! Some intricate play involving Neymar and Romulo ends with another attempt that fails to test Orion.
The Brazilian full backs continue to get forward with Danilo showing his attacking prowess. The player who will be joining Porto in January has yet to really be tested defensively yet.
Ronaldinho puts it over once again. He is struggling with his set pieces but perhaps the third time will be a charm!
Borges wins yet another free kick in a dangerous position. He is really putting his body on the line for his side. Hopefully a meaningful attempt from this free kick.
Tremendous run from Neymar and he earns a corner for his side, carrying the ball from his own half. Guinazu gets the corner away as Ronaldinho's delivery fails to beat the first man.
........ is shot well over by the Flamengo man and disappointingly behind for a goal kick
Still not a real test for either keeper. Walter Montillo is giving Argentina the attacking impetus, Fernandez's shot is blocked by Dede after Lucas Viatri's knock down in the box.
Mano Menezes does not appear to be happy with the performance of his side thus far as he stalks the technical area. The game has been a bit stop-start but the tempo is vastly improved upon the last encounter a fortnight ago.
Guinazu attempts a cross field pass which is intercepted by Neymar. However the starlet runs straight into trouble and Argentina regain possession.
Ouch! Lucas Moura is down and receiving treatment after a stray elbow from Papa leaves his with a bloody nose. There was no malice in the challenge from the Velez player.
Ronaldinho is playing a lot deeper than expected but is really pulling the strings for the Brazilian attack. He is being closely watched by Guinazu as the midfield warrior looks to nullify his threat. Could well be an interesting battle in the offing.
The Albiceleste are finding space between Bruno Cortes and Rever. It looks like it may well be a problem as the Botafogo left back looks to bomb forward and join the attack.
Neymar bends a shot from the 18 yard line but Orion is equal to it. Parrying away to his left for Papa to clear to safety. Promising signs for the Brazilian attack as they are showing a lot more ingenuity in the final third.
Fernandez and Pillud are combining well down the right hand side. The former with a cross for Viatri whose header loops in to the hands of the goalkeeper.
Corner for Argentina as Pillud is tackled following a tidy ball from Montillo. They fail to trouble the keeper as the ball is blocked by the bodies in the box.
Borges wins the ball back for the Canarinha and plays in Lucas Moura. He uses his pace to get past Papa but screws his shot wide of the far post.
Papa is dispossessed by Danilo in an attacking position. Brazil launch a counterattack but fail to create a meaningful chance.
Romulo's whipped ball in from the right is headed well wide by Borges from the edge of the box. The attempt that would have had to have been special to trouble Orion.
The Selecao are closing down the opposition swiftly, seemingly in an attempt to counter the flooded Argentine midfield. However, some passes are being misplaced as they settle into the match.
And we're underway in Brazil! Argentina kick us off.
Great atmosphere as the Brazilian fans belt out the national anthem in Belem in a tremendous chorus. The game is about to get underway.
ARGENTINA (3-5-1-1): Orion; Dominguez, Desabato, Cellay; Pillud, Fernandez, Guinazu, Canteros, Papa; Montillo; Viatri.
Here are the confirmed team line-ups: BRAZIL (4-3-3): Jefferson; Danilo, Dede, Rever, Bruno Cortes; Romulo, Ralf, Lucas Moura; Ronaldinho, Neymar, Borges.
When the two sides met in Cordoba a fortnight ago the match finished in a 0-0 draw. Brazil go into this game as favourites despite the absence of Leandro Damiao due to injury. Juan Manuel Martinez also misses out for Argentina due to a knock he picked up in the first leg.
