  • That's my cue for an exit, from me, Keeghann Sinanan, it's been a riot as always. Till next time!
  • Dortmund take a provisional lead in the Buli standings on 29 points, level with Gladbach and one ahead of Bayern, though the Bavarians have yet to square off with Mainz, which takes place tomorrow. Keep it here at Goal.com for our full arsenal of post-match coverage, including the match report, player ratings and reactions!
  • A comfortable win in the end for Dortmund, who maintain their title charge with three well-taken points. In truth, Klopp and his men were never in any real danger from Schalke, who did not make a serious impact in the attacking third.
  • 90' + 2'
The corner is cleared by Papadopolos, and the ref has seen enough!
  • 90' + 1'
Almost another! Grosskreutz marauds down the right, and manages to find Lewandowski in the centre unmarked again. His finish is stopped once more by Unnerstall's legs, and out for a corner!
  • 90'
We're into added time, of which they are two minutes.
  • 89'
    SubstitutionMario Götze Patrick Owomoyela
  • 89'
    SubstitutionJakub Blaszczykowski Kevin Großkreutz
  • 89'
Dortmund continue to pass the ball around midfield, There is no desire from Stevens' men to win back possession.
  • 87'
Ooh, finally something from Schalke! Papadopolos advances through the middle and takes aim from almost 35 yards! His effort has a lot of power, but is straight at Weidenfeller and suceeds in only stinging the palms of the keeper.
  • 86'
Gotze breaks down the right flank, beats one man before sending in a cross with the outside of his right boot that is headed away. The referee also has to step in quickly here, to separate some handbags between Lewandowski and Papadopolos
  • 85'
Nothing in the last 10 minutes or so from the visitors, who may be accepting of their fate. The game has settled into a lull, with Dortmund having no qualms about stroking it around.
  • 83'
The smoke has now drifted onto the field, covering it in a London-esque fog. Nothing to split hairs about though, as it soom dissapates.
  • 82'
    SubstitutionLewis Holtby Jurado
  • 81'
A few Dortmund fans light some flares near Weidenfeller's goal, sending a haze of smoke around that end. The referee has words with the BVB keeper, who is apparantly ok with the developments. However, officials soon order the flares put out.
  • 79'
    SubstitutionAlexander Baumjohann Ciprian Marica
  • 79'
    Yellow CardSebastian Kehl
Another booking here, this time Kehl is the offender. He slides in on Baumjohann, got the ball, but sends his compatriot flying.
  • 78'
    SubstitutionL. Barrios Shinji Kagawa
  • 77'
Here goes Piszczek down the right, picking out Lewandowski near the area. He trties to tee up Barrios again, but Papadopolous intercepts the cross, which was admittedly not the best.
  • 76'
Deep cross from Schalke is cleared by Santana, and Dortmund go on the offensive. However, Gotze can't find space for a run, so sets a spell of keep-ball in motion.
  • 75'
BVB corner, Gotze delivers and Hummels makes an almighty leap to get his head to it, but the ball just skims his locks and goes for a goalkick.
  • 73'
SHOULD HAVE BEEN 3-0!!! Gotze's pass down the right hand channel releases Lewandowski, who accelerates to the byline to tee up Barrios in the six yard box. His finish, however is lethargic, and Unnerstall manages to get his legs to it!
  • 72'
Now Leitner comits a foul on Baumjohann. Schalke are winning a fair bit of free-kicks around the 40-yard range, they need to get more men forward and try to take advantage of this.
  • 71'
Kehl goes mental after Schalke wins a throw in that he swore came off Uchida's boot. The referee telling him to take it easy.
  • 69'
Foul by Kuba on Pukki, the Dortmund man used his arm to hold him off. THe free kick is headed away by Hummels for a corner, who does the same from the resulting delivery.
  • 68'
Schalke finally starting to settle down again after the destabalizing effect of the second goal. Jones and Holtby stringing some passes together in midfield.
  • 66'
Dortmund go close again! A slick one-touch counter-attack batween Kuba, Barrios and Lewandowski releases the Pole at the edge of the D, but his finish is parried by Unnerstall, who smothers the rebound ahead of two onrushing Dortmund players!
  • 64'
    Yellow CardAtsuto Uchida
It's kicking off here!!! Uchida slides in from behind on Gotze, a rouch challenge that sparls a mini-melee near the touchline. Credit to the referee, who is quick to defuse the situation and dispense a yellow for Uchida.
  • 61'
    GoalFelipe Santana
2-0 DORTMUND!!!! Schalke thought that they had cleared the corner, but a deep header by Kehl sends the ball back into the danger area. There, Hummels nod it into the path of the unmarked Barrios, whose finish is saved by the legs of Unnerstall. However, the rebound falls to Santana at the edge of the box who slots into an unguarded net!
  • 60'
Great work by Gotze! The wunderkind gets the ball on the left byline, weaves his way past two players but his cutback is blocked out for a corner!
  • 59'
Now Gotze advances through the middle, and picks out Kuba at the left corner of the box. However, his attempted curler into the top corner goes horribly high and wide.
  • 58'
    Yellow CardJoel Matip
Kehl and Matip both go down in the centre of the park. The Schalke man gets the yellow, even though it seemed like a 50-50 to me!
  • 57'
Corner to BVB taken by Gotze. Santana, Hummels and Unnerstall all go for it, and the keeper makes a confident grab. The referee blows the whistle for an offensive foul as well, apparantly Santana was a bit to eager in leading with his head on that play.
  • 55'
First chance for BVB since the interval - Lewandowski letting rip from all of 30 yards, but his shot is sliced and dribbles harmlessly wide of Unnerstall's far post.
  • 54'
    SubstitutionJulian Draxler Teemu Pukki
  • 54'
Much better start to the second half from Stevens' team. They have had the better of possession and play in general, keeping Dortmund penned back in their own half.
  • 53'
Side netting! Raul drops deep into the hole, and plays a clever ball into the onrushing Holtby. There, he has a step on Santana, but fires his shot into the curtain! Close!
  • 51'
A little unconvincing from Hummels there, what seemed like a routine clearance from Holtby's low cross sees the German centre-back trip and scythe the ball out for a corner, which comes to nothing.
  • 49'
Barrios just offside! A through pass from Kuba on the right evades the outstreched boot of Fuchs, but replays show that the Paraguayan was just half a step ahead of him.
  • 48'
Now Baumjohann collects the ball from the free kick on the right, but his cross from the byline goes onto the roof of the net.
  • 47'
Leitner loses the ball about 30 yards from goal. Schalke try to break, and Kehl fouls Baumjohann around the centre-circle.
  • 46'
    Here we go again!
  • A comfortable half for Dortmund. Schalke's attacking threat has been few and far between, and they have spent the majority of their time defending against the pace of Klopp's men. The hosts hold a deserved lead, and but for the right boot of Matip who cleared brilliantly off the line, they would be 2-0 up. Join us in a bit for the second half!
  • 45' + 1'
Huntelaar loses the ball after getting crowded out about 25 yards from goal by at least three BVB players. Schalke win it back, and Kehl fouls Draxler near the centre-circle with the last action of the half.
  • 45'
One minute of stoppage time signalled...
  • 43'
    Yellow CardKyriakos Papadopoulos
Now Papadopolos enters the book. The Greek defender tripped up Gotze, who was attempting to make a diagonal run towards goal.
  • 41'
Foul here, this time Jones is the victim. He and Kehl both go for a 50-50 ball, and the Dortmund midfielder exhibits a bit of a high boot that downs his Schalke counterpart. Jones is slow to get to his feet, and there are whistles from the home fans, in recognition of his less than restrained play so far.
  • 40'
Draxler teis to pick out Huntelaar in the box with a cross, but it's too close to Weidenfeller, and the BVB stopper collects.
  • 38'
Schalke try to attack. Raul is picked out in the box, but his first touch is heavy, under considerable pressure from Santana. The move breaks down and Dortmund recover possession.
  • 35'
    Yellow CardJermaine Jones
Yellow for Jones. Deservedly so, for his 'tackle' on Kehl could have caused some serious damage. Shcmelzer's free kick is an easy ask for the Schalke defence.
  • 33'
Schalke again lose the ball, this time three passes into ther attemptted attacking move. Really sloppy there from Jones.
  • 31'
Huub Stevens does not look happy on the touchline. His team have been kept under the cosh by Dortmund so far. Unconvincing in defence and toothless in attack. They need to sort themselves out.
  • 29'
So close to another for Dortmund!!!! Kuba shows great endeavor down the right flank, and his cross finds the onrushing Gotze at the top of the D. He advances to within yards of the goal, but his finish is palmed away by Unnerstall. Then, Matip just gets his foot to the rebound on the goal-line, about a split second before Barrios! Great last-ditch defending!
  • 26'
Some rouygh and tumble in midfield in the last minute or so. First, Jones shows great strength to hold off a challenge, then it gets a bit scrappy, before finally Baumjohann fouls Schmelzer. Freekick.
  • 23'
Klopp's men are continuing to control this game. They are more aggressive going for 50-50 balls, and look pacey and dangerous every time they attack.
  • 20'
Huntelaar gets the ball with his back to goal. However, the dutchman can find neither time nor space to execute anything, and Hummels clears with ease.
  • 18'
Free kick for Schalke, from about the same position as Schmelzer's that led to the opener. However, Weidenfeller commands his area well and makes a confident grab.
  • 16'
    AssistMarcel Schmelzer
  • 16'
    GoalRobert Lewandowski
1-0 DORTMUND!!! Free kick about 45 yards from goal is whipped onto the penalty spot by the left boot of Schmelzer. There, the completely unmarked Lewandowski plants a header into the corner of the goal, despite Unnerstall getting a paw on the effort!
  • 12'
Jones loses the ball in midfield, and Barrios picks it up and is through on goal. However, he over-runs it a bit, and Understall gathers with relative ease.
  • 9'
Kuba is released on goal, and lets fly from the 18-yard line, but his shot sails about a foot over! Unnerstall probably had it covered in all honesty.
  • 6'
Meanwhile, Schalke are playing nervously, and are wasting what little possession they have in the opening exchanges. Fuchs gives away another cheap free kick.
  • 5'
BVB looking the more comfortable side so far, and Leitner sends a shot from outside the box harmlessly over the bar.
  • 3'
...and the full-back curls it inches wide of the far post! Good effort!
  • 2'
Lewandowski brought down about 25 yards from goal. Free kick, and Schmelzer has this in his sights...
  • 1'
    And we're off!!!
  • Barrios also gets his first start of the season, alongside Kuba - both players replacing kagawa and Grosskreutz in the XI. With the return of the Paraguayan, Lewandowski shifts to a second striker role rather than leading the line himself. Leitner also replaces Bender, who also picked up a knock in the CL against the Gunners.
  • There is a sigh of relief around the stadium today, as Mario Gotze has been named in the starting XI. The German wunderkind has recovered from a charley horse that forced him to hobble off early during their 2-1 loss at Arsenal midweek.
