Bundesliga preview: Borussia Dortmund - Nurnberg

Bundesliga preview: Borussia Dortmund - Nurnberg

The reigning Bundesliga champions will be looking to bounce back from their loss to Hoffenheim last Saturday as they take on Dieter Hecking's men in a thrilling encounter

PROBABLE LINE-UPS
Dortmund (4-2-3-1)

Weidenfeller; Piszczek, Subotic, Hummels, Schmelzer; Gundogan, Bender; Gotze, Kagawa, Grosskreutz; Lewandowski

Jurgen Klopp will have to do without the services of first-choice striker Lucas Barrios, who will join defenders Patrick Owomoyela and Julian Koch as well as midfielder Marvin Bakalorz on the sidelines.

Neven Subotic and Marcel Schmelzer are set to return to the starting line-up after a long recuperation period as Dortmund aim to get back on track with a win against Nurnberg on Saturday.

Nurnberg (4-1-4-1)

Rakovsky;
Chandler, Wollscheid, Klose, Pinola; Simons; Mak, Feulner, Cohen, Eigler; Pekhart

First-choice goalkeeper Raphael Schafer picked an injury on Thursday and will sit out the game against the defending Bundesliga champions. 18-year-old talent Patrick Rakovsky is set to deputise for the veteran, who will join defender Per Nilsson and midfielders Manuel Zeitz, Daniel Didavi and Mike Frantz on the list of absentees.

Ex-Borussia Dortmund midfielder Markus Feulner is set to start against his former club on Saturday.

Players to watch

K. Großkreutz

The Germany international can always be relied upon to hit the back of the net, and will be expected to dominated the flank with his supernatural work-rate and dynamic style on Saturday. With Gotze, Kagawa & co. well rested, Grosskreutz is likely to find it much easier to score this week.

T. Pekhart

Position: Attacker

Games: 0

The young striker has taken the Bundesliga by storm, bagging two goals in two games so far. The ex-Tottenham man, together with sharpshooter Markus Feulner, will have to be on the top of their game if they are to take anything from this match.

Editor's Prediction

The Club do not have the best of records against the reigning Bundesliga champions, and this is not expected to change on Saturday. With Dortmund's backline returning to its usual схап, and with Klopp's attackers well rested, BVB are expected to pick up the three points.
