That's all for this evening. Goodbye.
Dortmund move back to within five points of Bayern Munich as goals from Marco Reus and Shinji Kagawa secure a 2-0 victory over Mainz, who suffer a first defeat in four matches.
FULL-TIME: BORUSSIA DORTMUND 2-0 MAINZ 05
90' + 1' The referee blows the final whistle and brings this match to a close.
89' GOOD SAVE! The scoreline would have been a lot worse in Mainz's favour had it not been for Karius. Yet again, the keeper shows good reflexes as he springs to his left to palm away Castro's goalbound effort.
87' Signal-Iduna Park has just become a see of yellow scarves as the home fans chant for their side, who are about to stretch their unbeaten run to 13 matches. They are not out of the title race yet by any means, either.
A. Ramos
H. Mkhitaryan
Borussia Dortmund
85' Dortmund make their final change as Mkhitaryan is given a breather and replaced by Adrian Ramos.
84' WHAT A WASTE! Aubameyang races in behind the defence to latch onto a neat through ball. However, he hesitates for too long and lays it off for Mkhitaryan, who's shot is blocked, before Schmelzer blasts the follow-up over.
82' Mainz are trying to find a way back into this contest and launch a late fightback. They are still severely lacking creativity in the final third, though, and Dortmund are dealing with their threats far too easily.
80' We are into the final 10 minutes of play at Signal-Iduna Park. It looks like Dortmund are going to move back to within five points of league leaders Bayern Munich with eight games remaining, although the result will be treated as an insignificance with reports emerging that two spectators have suffered heart attacks at the game with one sadly passing away. The fans have sat in silence throughout the second half as a mark of respect.
78' That second goal has certainly knocked the stuffing out of Mainz. They looked lively and like they could find an equaliser until Kagawa gave Dortmund breathing space.
S. Serdar
Jairo Samperio
Mainz 05
76' Mainz make their final change of the match as Samperio goes off to be replaced by Suat Serdar.
75' Mkhitaryan is providing the creative spark for Dortmund on the right flank. He cuts inside and slips the ball through for Aubameyang to run onto, but the striker is ruled offside on this occasion.
P. Aubameyang
Assist
Borussia Dortmund
73' Aubameyang showed great awareness to pick out Kagawa.
S. Kagawa
Goal
Borussia Dortmund
73' KAGAWA DOUBLES THE LEAD!!! A neat move from Dortmund gives them breathing space. Aubameyang is found on the edge of the area and he squares the ball beautifully, leaving Kagawa with the simple task of finding the empty net to make it 2-0.
72' The visitors have responded well following that missed opportunity from Reus. They have enjoyed a lot more possession, but just need to have more creativity in the final third.
70' How costly could that miss prove to be? There seemed no way that Reus could miss that opportunity, but is that the reprieve that Mainz will pounce upon in these final 20 minutes.
68' WHAT A MISS! Mkhitaryan is the architect down the right flank as he gallops into the area. He squares the ball for Reus who, somehow, blazes over the bar from inside the six-yard box.
67' That was more like it from the hosts. There was a lot more urgency about that move and they need to maintain that if they are to double their lead.
65' Dortmund embark on a quick counter attack down the left flank. The ball is squared for Mkhitaryan to hit first time, but the Armenian cannot keep his shot down.
J. Weigl
N. Şahin
Borussia Dortmund
64' The hosts also make their second change, as Julian Weigl comes on for Sahin.
K. Onisiwo
C. Clemens
Mainz 05
62' The other sees Clemens withdrawn in place of Karim Onisiwo.
D. Latza
F. Frei
Mainz 05
62' The visitors respond by making a double substitution. The first sees Danny Latza come on in place of Frei.
60' As we hit the hour-mark, Mainz are yet to really ask any questions of the Dortmund defence. The hosts are looking very comfortable out there at the moment.
57' It seems like it is only a matter of time before Dortmund find the second goal and give themselves breathing space in this game. That is all that is missing from their performance at the moment.
55' The hosts really do have their tails up at the moment. Aubameyang's pace takes him in behind the defence once more and he looks to square the ball for Reus, but Mainz deflect it away for a corner.
52' GOOD SAVE! Dortmund continue to push for the second goal, but Karius denies Aubameyang once again. The Mainz keeper gets down well to smother the striker's shot on the line.
51' GREAT SAVE! Reus quickly switches the play to an unmarked Aubameyang, who bears down on goal. However, he finds Karius is brilliant form once again, as the Mainz keeper springs out to make a good stop.
49' Mainz will be motivated to get a result out of this game. They are currently protecting a three-match unbeaten run and three points would move them into the Champions League places.
47' Dortmund go straight onto the attack in the second half and a neat move sees Kagawa get in behind the defence. However, Karius is quickly out goal to make a good block and deny the Japanese.
46' KICK-OFF! The referee blows his whistle and Dortmund get the ball rolling in the second half.
Ł. Piszczek
E. Durm
Borussia Dortmund
46' Dortmund have made a change at half-time. Durm appears not to have shaken off his earlier knock and is replaced by Łukasz Piszczek.
The teams are making their way back out onto the field and the second half is just moments away.
Marco Reus' goal separates the sides at the break but chances have been very few and far between in all fairness. Seconds earlier, Gonzalo Castro made an important clearance on the line to deny Stefan Bell.
HALF-TIME: DORTMUND 1-0 MAINZ
45' + 1' The referee blows his whistle and brings the first half to a close.
44' We are into the final seconds of the first half and Dortmund still lead by a goal to nil. Now would be a good time for them to double their lead, as it would give them breathing space at the break.
42' Hummels lead the surge forward for Dortmund at the other end and his attempted through ball is deflected behind for a corner. The hosts play it short and Mainz eventually deal with the danger on this occasion.
40' At the other end, Mainz embark on a dangerous surge forward as they look to catch Dortmund out on the counter. Cordoba races onto a neat through ball, but just started his run too early and is flagged offside.
38' Dortmund have created some very good opportunities over the last few minutes. They may be a goal to the good, but Tuchel will be keen for his side to increase their lead while in the ascendency.
35' The Mainz goalkeeper shows very good alertness once again to collect another dangerous Dortmund ball into the box. He is keeping his side in the contest at the moment and they need to start threatening at the other end.
33' GOOD GOALKEEPING! Schmelzer delivers a dangerous low ball across the area and, with the likes of Aubameyang and Reus lurking, Karius is quickly out of goal to snuff out the danger.
32' That was a very confident finish by Reus. He scored twice in the 3-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur in midweek and took this opportunity with absolute aplomb.
G. Castro
Assist
Borussia Dortmund
30' Castro provided the creative spark for Dortmund with some brilliant skill and the perfect through ball.
M. Reus
Goal
Borussia Dortmund
30' REUS GIVES DORTMUND THE LEAD!!! Castro pulls the strings in midfield with some wonderful individual skill before providing a perfectly weighted pass for his striker, who calmly sweeps the ball past Karius.
29' Dortmund suddenly look a lot more urgent in their play. They are passing the ball around with more purpose following Castro's clearance.
27' That is something that the visitors will use to build some momentum. Had Castro not been covering Burki, Mainz would be 1-0 up. They just need to make sure they stay with Dortmund.
25' GOOD BLOCK! Mainz have a corner and the delivery is only cleared as far as Bell. The centre-half unleashes a vicious drilled effort that has Burki beaten, but Castro is in the right place to make an important clearance on the line.
23' GOOD SAVE! Schmelzer cuts inside onto his right foot on the left corner of the penalty area and whips the ball towards goal. Karius has to be alert and gets down well to beat it away to safety.
21' Dortmund are the only unbeaten side in 2016, registering a league-high of 20 points along the way. They have gone 16 games without defeat at home - their longest run for four years.
19' Things are fairly flat out there at the moment. Both sides are knocking the ball around nicely when in their possession, but it has been a quiet day for each goalkeeper so far. The game is in need of more creativity in the final third.
17' There is a slight break in play as Durm stays down following a 50-50 challenge with Baumgartlinger. It was an honest attempt to play the ball by both players and, although he needs a minute to gather himself, the Dortmund right-back is back on his feet.
15' Reus looks to spring the offside trap as he latches onto a long ball over the top of the Mainz defence. He just started his run too early, however, and the linesman has his flag up on the near side.
13' The visitors finally enjoy the opportunity of having some time on the ball. They use it to just settle into their rhythm as they look to gain a foothold in this contest.
11' Mainz will not be intimidated by their opponents, though. They know what it takes to win on the road, having beaten league leaders Bayern Munich in their last away match and three points today would move them up to fourth.
9' Dortmund look to switch the play out to the right flank. There is just too much on the diagonal ball intended for Durm, though, and he cannot keep it in play. The hosts' intentions for this game are very clear indeed.
7' This will be a tricky match for Dortmund, but history suggests that they will fancy their chances today. They have lost just one of their last 11 matches against Mainz, who are searching for their first league win in this stadium.
5' Dortmund have quickly settled into their rhythm inside the opening five minutes. They have had pretty much all of the possession so far and Mainz are struggling to match them.
3' Dortmund have made a bright start and have just been awarded a free-kick near the right corner flag. Mkhitaryan was brought down by Bussmann and Reus is stood over the set piece.
1' KICK-OFF! The referee blows his whistle and gets the match underway.
HERE THEY COME! The players are making their way out onto the pitch and kick-off is just moments away.
