And that's that at the Dall'Ara as Milan eventually cruise to a comfortable 3-1 success over Bologna, led by a triumphant hat-trick from Giampaolo Pazzini! Stay on Goal.com for all the latest breaking news, including a full match report of tonight's game and comprehensive player ratings! I'm Livio Caferoglu and I wish you all a very pleasant evening. Ciao!
90' + 2'
90' + 1'
Three minutes of injury time will be played, as Pazzini is replaced to a standing ovation!
Great build-up play from Milan on the edge of the box, as Boateng is presented with the chance to finish the move off, but his effort to replicate Fernando Torres' strike against Newcastle last weekend goes horribly wrong!
HAT-TRICK HERO!!!! Robinho and Pato may be injured, Cassano off to Inter and Ibrahimovic now pitching up in the French capital, but the Rossoneri now have a new talisman in Pazzini! A long-range strike is flicked in by the attacker. Deft touch, lucky deflection or neither, they all count!
Quiet spell from either team as Milan look to hold onto their lead. The goals should prove a welcome boost to Pazzini, who as recently as last week looked totally shot of confidence!
Bojan is furious as Guarente seems to catch the Spaniard's face with his arm. Only a warning for the former Sevilla man though! It's probably been the first time we've seen him in the game since his introduction.
WHAT A HOWLER FROM AGLIARDI!!! Not the goalkeeper's finest hour, as an Antonini corner is inexplicably dropped, allowing Pazzini to nip in with his second of the evening!
Motta is presented with the chance of a scoring from a spectacular angle as a long, raking ball is driven at the back post, but the full-back is guilty of trying to find a team-mate than go for goal!
The game's exploded into action now, as Diamanti curls a free kick at goal, which drifts just wide of the target! Abbiati isn't happy though, as he feels he has been impeded.
ALMOST!! Bologna win a free kick as De Jong marks his debut with a yellow card, and Gilardino, while clearly offside, comes mightily near to a goal with a powerful header!
Yellow CardNigel De Jong
Nocerino is beginning to step up to the plate in this contest, as he sees a cross, intended for Pazzini, diverted away by Cherubin.
Stephan El Shaarawy
A, quite frankly, laughable dive from Morleo, who tries to profit from a bouncing ball in the box, but Bonera dispatches him aptly. Meanwhile, Motta rifles home a shot on the edge of the box but it goes just over!
All eyes must now be on fallen giant Alberto Gilardino, who replaces the largely-ineffective Acquafresca. Can he put one past his former side?
Boateng again in the thick of it. This time, he performs a string of stepovers to shift past his marker and see a strike blocked by the legs of Agliari, before he tries to flick home a corner. Not quite Zola-esque, it has to be said!
FLUID!! The only way to describe it - a strong run from Nocerino enables him to give the ball to Boateng on the edge of the box, who returns it in an instant with the Italian bearing down on goal, but Agliardi does well to tip his shot wide!
Yellow CardGiampaolo Pazzini
Another tantalising ball is launched into the danger zone by Antonini, but Pazzini unleashes a karate kick onto the face of Cherubin! The yellow card is rightfully shown there.
Boateng comes mightily close as he makes a chance out of completely nothing! He turns his marker and unleashes a stinging drive which Agliardi is thankful to see go just wide.
Another one straight from the training pitch, this time for Bologna, who gain another opportunity from De Sciglio. Diamanti's low free kick takes Milan by surprise, although Guarente's goal-bound strike is blocked!
GREAT CHANCE!!! Antonini links up with El Sharaawy and serves up a delicious ball for Pazzini to head home, but Morleo does fantastically well to nod the ball before the hitman can make proper contact with it!
Pazzini is dragged down by Carvalho on the edge of the box. Free kick to the Rossoneri in a dangerous position on the left...
@AhmedMRadwan is not a happy Milan fan tonight, as he quips: "For me Nocerino is awful tonight. And I would love to see Bojan play instead of him. Switch to 4-2-1-3." - listen to your tifoso, Massimiliano!
GUARENTE!!!! Should be 2-1 as Acquafresca takes on Bonera in the box and slips the midfielder through, but he cannot strike the ball on target!
Good start from Bologna as Diamanti wins a corner off of De Sciglio. The forward finds Taider on the edge of the box but his shot is charged down!
Right, thanks for your input guys! The players come back onto the pitch with changes made by neither side.
Meanwhile, @RabeaMakhoul is similarly downbeat: "What's going on at Milan? Disgrace that a club with such history turned mediocre, embarrassing management!"
@SaeedRaheeb on Twitter says: "Difficult for Milan to get back into this game after Monolivo's injury. They may need a fresh pair of feet in the form of Bojan Krkic."
It's half-time with the scores tied at 1-1! An enthralling first 45 minutes here in Emilia-Romagna, and we still have more to come! Be sure to send me all of your tweets @livmc regarding the game! Or conversely, hit us up @goal_intl.
Milan win a corner as Morleo does well to read Boateng near the box. De Sciglio's set-piece meets the boot of the midfielder, who strikes the ball with his back to goal, but he blazes it over!
Penalty GoalAlessandro Diamanti
AND A GOAL!!! It's the Diamanti show tonight as he wins the spot kick following a trip from Nocerino, and steps up to send Abbiati the wrong way! Virtuoso display from the forward!!
Nigel De Jong
PENALTY TO BOLOGNA!!!
Not good news for Milan as Montolivo pulls up and is forced off the field of play, but it paves the way for De Jong to make his Milan bow!
A quick-fire break is on for Milan, as Montolivo wins the ball off Taider and presses on, before floating a through ball into El Shaarawy's path down the right wing. The starlet cuts back for Boateng, who smashes a shot wide. Probably the wrong decision!
CLOSE!! Diamanti is beginning to take notice of his team-mates after spending much of the opening stages trying to conduct moves on his own, and he conjures up a fine cross which Acquafresca is a whisker away from meeting!
Boateng's been the thorn of the Bologna midfield tonight, and he wins another free kick off Taider near the centre circle.
WHAT A CHANCE! The referee gives Bologna an advantage near the box as the ball is taken over by Taider, who shows a lovely little shimmy to get past El Shaarawy, but his curling effort is ballooned over with the goal gaping! Bad miss.
Milan may have started the strongest and seen most of the ball, but don't rule out Bologna! Pioli's charges have slowly but surely been working themselves back into the contest, led by the mercurial talents of Diamanti.
Yellow CardMassimo Ambrosini
Diamanti's running the show at the moment, as he attracts yet another foul - this time from Ambrosini, who is cautioned! The Azzurri man takes the free kick, central to goal, but the wall does its job.
Milan win a corner, which is whipped in towards the near post, and Pazzini manages to get a deft touch on the ball which Agliardi must hold!
A mazy run from Diamanti sees him pop up on the edge of the box and register another shot on target, but Abbiati is on hand to gather the ball safely!
Yellow CardDaniele Bonera
Already the fourth yellow card of the game, and it's a high boot on Acquafresca from Bonera. Were only mid-way through the half!
THAT'S MORE LIKE IT! Diamanti once more draws in De Sciglio and fires a powerful effort which goes just over the bar! Bologna will need more flashes of magic from the Italy forward!
Diamanti goes for the spectacular, but the ball cannons off the Milan wall. The rebound isn't much better either, as a goal kick becomes of it.
Diamanti wins a free kick in a promising position on the left-hand side of the box, squeezing past De Sciglio and Ambrosini. What can the Rossoblu do from this position?
Yellow CardRiccardo Montolivo
Wonder how Bologna will react to that goal. Coach Stefano Pioli was clearly incensed with the decision, and perhaps he has a point. Still, a good phase of play from the away side!
Penalty GoalGiampaolo Pazzini
HE DOES!! The former Inter man drives the ball to the left and crucially past Agliardi. Milan take the lead!
Yellow CardNicolò Cherubin
PENALTY... TO MILAN!!! Pazzini is released in the clear with Cherubin hot on his heels, but the defender appears to tug on the shirt of the forward, who arguably makes the most of the incident! Can he score from the spot?
Pazienza again struggles to deal the pace of the match as he hauls down Boateng in exactly the same position as the previous set-piece. The midfielder takes once more.. and forces a good save from Agliardi down to his right!
The Ghanaian hits the ball low and hard under the wall but it seems to be going wide of the post. Still, Agliardi got a hand to it and it's a corner to Milan!
Pazienza concedes a free kick near the edge of the box. Boateng steps up...
Milan make their first foray as Antonsson finally gets rid of the ball. Morleo leaves a gap at the back, which Boateng and De Sciglio both exploit. The young full-back crosses into the area, and forces Agliardi into an acrobatic punch!
Morleo has another bite of the cherry as he gets past De Sciglio, and manages to force a save out of Abbiati, having drilled a dangerous low ball into the box!
The first shot at goal goes to Bologna, as Taider finds some space following good work down the left flank from Morleo, but his strike sails over the bar.
Both teams are still in the process of settling down and imposing their styles on the game, as the ball is pinged about by the Rossoneri.
We're under way at the Dall'Ara, with Bologna going left-to-right and Milan, in all-white, heading the opposite way.
Right, you all know the drill - message me on Twitter @livmc for all of your opinions and views on the game at hand, and possibly a few follows if I'm feeling kind! We are ready for kick-off now.
And then there's the curious case of Bologna. A strong season under Stefano Pioli last time around has been followed with the departures of key duo Marco Di Vaio and Gaston Ramirez and a loss to Chievo on matchday one. Nonetheless, the likes of Pazienza, Guarente and Gilardino are no strangers at this level!
Still a few minutes until the players spill out onto the pitch, so we can reflect on the fortunes of both sides, starting with Milan! The Rossoneri endured a dismal opening-day defeat to Sampdoria after a summer of negativity, but have strengthened considerably since then with a number of buys.
So, no starts for new boys Bojan Krkic, Nigel de Jong and M'Baye Niang tonight, as they all occupy places on Massimiliano Allegri's 12-man substitutes' bench! For Bologna, Michele Pazienza is given his Rossoblu bow in central midfield, but the same cannot be said for Alberto Gilardino!
And for the visitors AC Milan, this is how they will look: Abbiati; De Sciglio, Bonera, Acerbi, Antonini; Montolivo, Ambrosini, Nocerino; Boateng; Pazzini, El Shaarawy.
The team news has arrived! First up, here's how Bologna will line up: Agliardi; Cherubin, Antonsson, Carvalho; Motta, Taider, Pazienza, Guarente, Morleo; Diamanti, Acquafresca.
Hello and welcome to Goal.com's Saturday night Serie A offering LIVE from the Dall'Ara, as Bologna host AC Milan! I'm Livio Caferoglu and I'll be guiding you through all the action here in Emilia-Romagna.
