SO CLOSE!!!!!! Krhin miskicks a volley in the area but he still manages to steer it at goal and forces Ranocchia into clearing off the line! But that's all for today as Inter continue their charge up the Serie A table and move second! Bologna, however, fall ominously to 17th. I've been Livio Caferoglu and you've been great as always! Ciao!
90' + 2'
Shortly after drawing in a foul from Morleo, who is shown the yellow card, Cassano does fantastically well to run the clock down on the wing and evade numerous challenges!
90' + 1'
Yellow CardArchimede Morleo
Five minutes of injury time will be played out.
HOW WAS THAT NOT A GOAL?! Inter have three chances to score inside 10 seconds but fail to take any of them as Nagatomo forces Agliardi to make the stop. However, Alvarez can only reach the goalkeeper from the rebound and Cambiasso shoots over!
Bologna are not giving up in their efforts to claw one back, but if Morleo's long-range strike is anything to go by then they have sadly run out of ideas.
Cassano goes for the spectacular and tries to shoot from a tight angle but Agliardi is alert to the forward's attempt.
Palacio is becoming of paramount importance to the Inter cause but he is replaced by Ricky Alvarez with 10 minutes to go.
... And the Slovene is equal to Diamanti's effort. Nothing to be seen here!
Yellow CardJuan Jesus
The ref pulls out his book again and this time it's for Juan, who upends an onrushing Diamanti. What can Bologna do from this free kick, directly central to goal?
Former Inter youngster Rene Krhin is on now - can he exert revenge on his former side? There's only 15 minutes left for him to make an impact. Gabbiadini, meanwhile, will be disappointed to have been hauled off, even if he only showed his potential in glimpses.
Inter almost hit Bologna on the break but Cassano is dispossessed near the box. However, not long after, he wins a free kick off Cherubin!
Gargano needs to be careful now, having picked up a yellow moments before. Again he clashes with Morleo and a free kick is awarded to the hosts.
'Il Principe' has been impressive this afternoon, holding up the ball well, helping out with his side's goals and even scoring one of his own, and is replaced by Antonio Cassano to a chorus of cheers from Inter fans!
Yellow CardWalter Gargano
Gargano is the latest player to be booked after stomping on Morleo. The succeeding free kick amounts to nothing more than a Bologna throw-in.
SUBITOOOO!!! Almost an instant reply from Bologna sees Diamanti conjure up a cross-shot that nearly evades Handanovic and creeps over the line!
THAT'S HOW YOU BOUNCE BACK!!!!!!!! Inter's lead has been restored once more by Cambiasso!! An all-Argentine move sees Milito cut the ball back for Palacio, who tricks his opponent by feinting a shot and instead passing the ball to the midfielder in the box! He then chips over Agliardi for 3-1. Wonderful football!
A conflict has erupted in the Bologna dugout and it seems Pioli has been sent to the stands! As if their route back into the match was not steep enough...
Looks like the personnel in charge of today's scoreboard aren't having the best of days at the office, as it currently reads 3-0 to Inter rather than 2-1!
GAME ON!!!! Bologna pull one back as Inter are made to rue their relaxed approach to drawing clear of their opponents! A ball is crossed onto the head of Cherubin, who gets in front of Ranocchia, and leaves Handanovic helpless!
Inter seem more than happy to let Bologna have the ball and shield their two-goal advantage but, out of nothing, Gilardino fires a volley which forces an instinctive save from Handanovic!
Bologna will have to work twice as hard to get back into the match now, although it goes without saying. Inter have looked dominant at the back and ruthless when it matters at the opposite end.
IT'S 2-0 TO THE NERAZZURRI!!!!! Stramaccioni is delighted as he swings his fist into the air! A quick-fire counterattack results in Palacio shifting past Pazienza and drilling a low cross into the path of Milito, who taps home!
Yellow CardAlessandro Diamanti
Milito traps a delicate through pass with his back to goal on the edge of the box and powers a strike over the bar! Meanwhile, Diamanti is shown a yellow card for going in too strong into Mudingayi.
A real duel is beginning to develop between Ranocchia and Gilardino. The burly hitman elbows the centre-back in midair, but, after going down to receive treatment, he makes a speedy recovery.
Fantastic play from Bologna! Gilardino leads a sweeping move on the break, as he leaves Ranocchia for dead with a deft back heel into Gabbiadini's path, and the youngster's low strike flies just wide!
Inter kick us off for the second half!
The players are back out and @brownpowder1903 believes Inter will go on to win the game with ease: "Inter will run out winners I think, either 2-0 or 3-1" - thanks for your input!
The half is over as the ref blows his whistle to signal the interval! I'll be back in a tick but, in the meantime, flood me with your views on Twitter!
Juan tries to take the mantle of playmaker with a sweeping pass into Palacio's feet, and the Argentine quickly distributes with a looping ball towards Milito. Garics is there, however, and Agliardi gathers.
Stefano Pioli's troops look to vary their play after realising that their passing game is not proving effective. Taider and Guarente look to free team-mates with long, raking balls, but the first is nodded out with ease while Handanovic reads the second aptly.
Bologna are trying desperately hard to pass their way into Inter territory, but the away team's resistance is holding up remarkably well in such rainy conditions.
A great shot of the captain sees him run directly to Antonio Cassano, who sits on the substitutes' bench, after Ranocchia's goal. What a bromantic embrace!
A frantic three minutes sees both sides struggle to keep hold of the ball! However, Zanetti comes closest to force an opening in the passage of play with a low cross which is cleared by a Rossoblu shirt in an instant.
Cherubin is furious as he feels his tackle on Palacio was legit, but the referee thinks otherwise. The free kick is hooked into the danger zone, but the defender does well to head the ball away.
We're approaching the half-hour mark and it's been captivating stuff here in northern Italy. Can Bologna come back from this or will Inter only get stronger as the game wears thin? Hit me up with your thoughts @livmc on Twitter!
What a way to make amends for such a poor miss just moments earlier! Inter look to take advantage of the home team's sudden vulnerability through Milito, but the striker's stinging attempt can only force a corner from Agliardi!
GOOOOAAAAALLLLLLL!!!!!!!! Inter have looked dangerous from set-pieces and Bologna have been made to pay as Cambiasso's free kick is headed into the bottom left corner by Ranocchia!!
Yellow CardMichele Pazienza
Gabbiadini is very silky with the ball at feet and uses his vision to dink a delicate pass into Guarente's path. However, Samuel is there to avert the danger in a flash. A hugely experienced talent!
Nagatomo wins a fortuitous corner off Antonsson. AND RANOCCHIA IS ONLY A WHISKER AWAY!!! The centre-back leaves his marker for dead and really should've done better with his header from close range which goes wide!
Another warning shot is thrown out by Bologna! Guarente tries to stun Handanovic from distance and comes mightily close, as his shot soars narrowly over the bar.
Stramaccioni will not be happy with his side's performance in the opening 20 minutes. It's Gabbiadini this time who chips a ball through to Gilardino, who has his back to goal, but cannot quite orientate himself.
Diamanti has made a decent start this afternoon and definitely looks to be Bologna's most threatening player. Again he picks the ball up in an advanced position and drills in a wicked cross, forcing Handanovic to fling himself into the air and collect.
Yellow CardGaby Mudingayi
A deserved yellow card for Mudingayi. Inter launch an attack, which breaks down on the edge of the Bologna box, but the Belgian hauls down Diamanti to kill off the potential for a counterattacking move.
Gargano looks to pose Agliardi some food for thought with a square ball into the box from some way out, but the goalkeeper climbs highest to punch the ball away, with Cambiasso closing in.
OOH! Arguably the first real chance of the game falls to the Rossoblu, as Gilardino feeds Diamanti, and the former West Ham ace fires a powerful shot just wide of the post!
It's Zanetti's turn to make a crunching tackle as he reads a forward pass for Morleo and hacks the full-back down. Perfectly valid, however!
Taider and Cambiasso have some afters as the Argentine is cynically fouled by the Frenchman. The resulting free kick is curled in and Juan goes for the spectacular with a scorpion kick of sorts! Agliardi saves.
Juan reads the game superbly as he mops up a dangerous through ball, but Guarente gets another opportunity to thread Gilardino through shortly after. Sadly for the striker, he can't quite make a connection in the box.
Taider's involved again as he is clipped by Nagatomo on the opposing wing. Not much quality just yet but the action is already beginning to boil!
Bologna look to infiltrate the left flank, but a floated cross from Taider goes out for a throw-in. Slightly overhit really!
It's a promising position for the hosts as Diamanti steps behind the free kick, positioned around 30 yards out from the goal... But it just curls wide!
The game's now under way with Bologna going left to right and Inter vice versa. Mudingayi makes his mark inside a minute with a strong challenge into Diamanti!
The pre-match huddles are now over, as Andrea Stramaccioni looks on in the Inter dugout as cool and calculated as they come. Right, bring on the match!
It'll also be interesting to see how Gaby Mudingayi gets on today - the Belgian midfielder returns to his former stomping ground! We've just struck 15:00CET and only now have both teams stepped onto the field of play! Fashionably late, right?
It's also worth noting that today marks Milito's 100th Serie A appearance in an Inter jersey! The players are ready to make their way onto the pitch now and there's a hefty turn-out here in Emilia-Romagna, despite the poor weather!
Just 12 minutes to go until the big kick-off and I'm sure you wouldn't want to be anywhere else! For my loyal followers you know the drill already, but to any newcomers - join the debate on Twitter! Send me all of your tweets about the game @livmc and the best ones will be posted on here!
However for Inter, it's a much-changed lineup from the side that nicked a 1-0 win over Partizan Belgrade in the Europa League midweek. Rodrigo Palacio appears to have been rewarded for his late winner with a place alongside Diego Milito up front in a 3-5-2 formation.
Nothing out of the ordinary from Bologna, who will look to trequartista and talisman Alessandro Diamanti for inspiration. Coupled with the goalscoring form of Alberto Gilardino and the youthful promise of Manolo Gabbiadini, the Nerazzurri could face more than they bargained for.
And last but not least, Inter: Handanovic; Ranocchia, Samuel, Juan; Zanetti, Mudingayi, Cambiasso, Gargano, Nagatomo; Palacio, Milito.
Right, more analysis later. Now's a great time to present to you today's team news so here it is - starting with the hosts Bologna: Agliardi; Garics, Antonsson, Cherubin, Morleo; Taider, Pazienza, Guarente; Diamanti; Gilardino, Gabbiadini.
The season is really beginning to hot up as we approach the ninth week of 2012-13, and while the Rossoblu have endured a slow start to the campaign, the same cannot be said for the visitors, who seem to be going from strength to strength!
Benvenuti! Good afternoon one and all and welcome to Goal.com's LIVE commentary of the Serie A clash between Bologna and Inter at the Dall'Ara! I'm Livio Caferoglu (@livmc) and I will be guiding you through all the action today.
