Had a header cleared off the line but looked off the pace at times as he struggled to deal with the pace and variety of Arsenal's attacking angles.
His Jonny Wilkinson-style kicking launched many a Rovers attack and he was a solid presence in goal. Made a couple of fine saves.
The veteran right-back kept Arshavin quiet in the first half but struggled to deal with the Russian when he turned it on after the break. Should have done better with a good chance in the closing minutes.
Beckenbauer-style run and pass to set up Rovers' equaliser and a dominant presence in both penalty areas with his height and muscle.
A normal name but a special talent. The versatile 18-year-old did more than most to release Arsenal's vice-like grip on the midfield but struggled to get on the ball.
Skinned time and again by the electric Walcott. Will just be thankful that he doesn't have to face the on-song wide boy every week.
Spent more time toweling down the ball for his rocket propelled throw-ins than a spin bowler on a wet wicket. The set-piece specialist was at his most effective when the game stopped.
Struggled to halt the red-and-white tide and help his team gain a foothold in the midfield battle.
Great run and neat finish for the equaliser to follow up his midweek hat-trick. The on-loan Manchester United man was a constant threat with his energy and movement.
Like a pesky fly, he is unloved, unpopular and frequently turns up where he is not wanted. Gave Clichy some difficult moments with his trickery and touch in the first half but faded afterwards.
Although the lone front man's movement was good, he struggled to provide the velcro touch that Blackburn's long-ball style demands.
His shattered confidence will have received a much-needed boost from this display. All but one of his punches snuffed out danger and he dealt capably with the inevitable bombardment into his goalmouth.
Struggled to deal with El-Hadji Diouf's trickery before the break but settled down, like his defensive colleagues, in the second half. His delivery on the left flank was occasionally sloppy.
Led the back line with surety and commitment. Dealt capably with everything Rovers threw at him - and a threat in the opposition area at set pieces.
Neat, effective and almost invisibly efficient. Perhaps too similar in stature to Vermaelen to be a perfect partner but stood up well to Rover's aerial threat.
Like the Sagna of his first season at Arsenal. Brilliant run and cross for his team's second and some uber-solid defending.
The enigmatic Russian blew Arctic cold before the break and tropical hot afterwards. Precise finish for his third goal in four games against Blackburn and some sublime touches.
It was like the summer-long romance with Barcelona had never happened. Bright, committed and massively effective in his first start of the season. Magnificent on the ball and a brilliant headed clearance on the line from Nelsen to boot. Substituted in the 68th minute.
When the French beanpole can be this dominant in such a tricky engagement, it makes his inconsistency all the more frustrating. Won the ball, passed it to a colleague and harried Rovers into submission. Now, to put in two good displays on the trot.
R. van Persie
Provided a lovely threaded ball to Walcott for the opener and looked sharp and hungry in his first start of the season before limping off in the 35th minute with a swollen ankle.
With question marks over his consistency, the right-sided flyer provided the perfect answer with a display full of more cutting edge than a guillotine. Delicious, Michael Owen-esque style finish for Arsenal opener and provided a constant threat in his wing-forward role. Were you watching, Alan Hansen?

Put in some good crosses.
- 7 B. Emerton
Some useful touches but did not get any goalscoring opportunities.
His clever feet helped him work a great position late on but Blackburn's top scorer last season will be disappointed with the weak finish.

Fluffed his lines when presented with a gilt-edged chance to score Arsenal's third in added time.
Arsenal lost some of their pizzazz when the No7 replaced Fabregas in the last quarter.
Lacked the speed of thought of many of his colleagues and was occasionally sluggish on the ball. Looks like he needs some time to adjust to the Premier League's unique demands.
