The last time these two clubs met was in the UEFA Cup Round of 16 in 2007. Benfica, who were trailing from the first leg, after PSG recorded a 2-1 success in Paris, rallied back with first-half strikes from Simao and Petit, before Pauleta levelled the tie for the visitors in the 32nd minute. The match seemed to head into extra time, but drama ensued in the last minute as Benfica were awarded a penalty which Simao duly converted to send the home side to the quarter-finals.

The Paraguyan striker will pose a definite danger to PSG. Cardozo, who has 13 goals this season, is noted for his ability to finish, and that may be evident on Thursday evening. If PSG want to leave the Portuguese capital with a result, they must keep this man quiet.

The Brazilian left winger has been a revelation since signing for the capital club last summer. Already bagging 13 goals in Ligue 1, his crossing ability may be too much for Benfica to handle, and could be the source of goals for Les Parisiens on Thursday.
Prediction
Paris St Germain will find it tough against a team who, just recently has been on a fantastic run of form. Without regular strikers Erdinc and Hoarau, Antoine Kombouare's men will struggle against a Benfica side with considerable strength at home.
