FULL TIME! And there's the final whistle. Two goals either side of half-time have done the job here for City, who get their first win of the pre-season.
The substitutions are never-ending in this one. A triple change for City sees Mancini, Helan and Boyata get a late run-out.
Mehmet and Veli make way for the Turkish side as they concede another needless free-kick. Kolarov blasts his effort straight at the wall.
Razak wins a free-kick on the edge of the Besiktas box after being pulled back. Weiss' effort is straight at the 'keeper, who punches away effectively.
City are happy to remain patient in possession as they spray the ball around the backline. Johnson breaks through the midfield but hits his shot wide.
The Besiktas fans haven't stopped singing all evening, they continue their support as the rain becomes heavier here in Austria.
Fernandes is hauled off by his manager for his part in the confrontation. Ugur also leaves the field, to be replaced by Tanju.
Yaya Toure makes way for George Evans for the champions. The youngster is involved right away as he hacks down Fernandes, and receives a yellow card. Some 'handbags' there in the aftermath.
City trialist Jelavic has a pop from long range. A bit of a lull in the game here as the grafting Besiktas side becomes increasingly tired.
Youngster Karim Rekik also comes on in Zabaleta's place. City now dictating the play in a packed midfield.
Third change for Besiktas sees Mustafa replaced by Kadir. Last throw of the dice here as they go in search of a reply. Jelavic on for Aguero.
A double substitution for the Turkish side seems to have stopped their momentum as Mancini's men break forward quickly with Weiss. Better from City.
City trying to slow the tempo here after a good spell of pressure from Besiktas which ended in a strong Pantilimon save from Mehmet.
Off the post!! Besiktas come so close to pulling one back as Kavlak bends a shot past the City 'keeper
The Turkish side will feel that they didn't deserve to concede there. Kompany's neat finish proves to be his last touch as he is replaced by Savic.
Goal Vincent Kompany
GOAL!! Vincent Kompany of all people latches on to a precise Johnson pass and chips the goalkeeper expertly.
Outswinging corner from Manuel Fernandes well met by Pantilimon in the City goal mouth. Tight game here.
Quite a physical battle in central midfield, often involving Yaya Toure. Besiktas are looking for ways to break the champions down.
Both sides a little slow out of the blocks early in the second-half. City look happy to hold on to their lead and haven't been too adventurous.
Just the one change at half-time with Vladimir Weiss coming on for City. Early stoppage here as Necip collides with the referee and requires treatment.
Besiktas get us back underway here in Austria.
It's half-time at Innsbruck and City lead thanks to Aguero's goal right before the interval. It's harsh on Besiktas as they've dominated the first-half and should have been ahead through Fernandes and Mehmet, but they didn't take their chances and have been duly punished by the Premier League champions. We'll see if they can rally after the break.
Goal Sergio Agüero
GOALLLLL!!!! Sergio Aguero opens the scoring fro City with a sublime effort which he just curled past Cenk into the bottom corner after good build up play from Tevez and Razak whose dummy created the opening for the Argentine.
City have had nine corners in the first half and haven't troubled Cenk once from any of them. Roberto Mancini won't be happy with that from his team.
Some good last ditch defending coming from both teams as Kolo Toure stretches to win the ball from Olcay while Johnson is robbed just when he was about to pull the trigger at the other end.
Carlos Tevez is starting to become more of a factor in the game, he's dropping off the defenders slightly pick the ball on the short and is looking to find Aguero whenever he can. This partnership was electric towards the end of last season and it looks as though it's starting to pick up.
City are being troubled at the back, Besiktas have a lot of pace and movement up front with Mustafa causing a lot of problems while Mehmet and Olcay are pulling the strings in midfield.
What a MISS!!!! Besiktas should be ahead Mehmet hits a sublime cross into the area and finds an unmarked Manuel Fernandes who has all the time in the world to knock the ball past Pantilimon but he hits the ball straight at him. Olcay's rebound effort is well cleared off the line by Kolo Toure.
The game has settled down a bit with City looking to control the midfield. Yaya Toure almost carves out an opening for Zabaleta with a lovely through ball but the Argentinean is flagged offside.
Chance!! Besiktas give the ball away in midfield and Aguero feeds Tevez who gets a shot away but it's well dealt with by a covering defender who manages to block the ball behind for a corner.
Besiktas are looking more dangerous and could have had a penalty as Mustafa was brought down by Kolo Toure after being put through by Manuel Fernandes with a lovely chipped ball. Unlucky for the Turkish side.
Slight opening for City as Kompany won the ball in midfield and skillfully beat his man before he found Tevez who teed up Yaya Toure whose stinging effort went wide. Better from City.
Manchester City aren't at their fluent best yet, they're seeing quite a lot of the ball in the Besiktas half but they're aren't doing a great deal with it. Tevez has just summed this up by giving the ball away when under no pressure whatsoever.
Bit of ill-tempered start to this game as players are flying in with challenges. Yaya Toure was lucky to not be sent off for an elbow early on and now Adam Johnson is complaining to the referee about a heavy challenge which he needed treatment for.
Besiktas should be two up now as Mehmet missed an open goal by blasting the ball over the bar, he should have hit the target there as Pantilimon was in no-mans land.
Nearly a goal for Besiktas following good work down the right from Mustafa, who turned Kolo Toure and found Olcay but the midfielder's effort went just over the bar.
Half chance for Besiktas as a volley comes in from just outside the area but Pantilimon watches the ball go past the post and out for a goal-kick.
Yaya Toure puts another ball in behind the Besiktas defence which Aguero nearly latches onto but keeper Cenk beats him to ball and claims it with ease.
Sergio Aguero is played in down the right but before he can take a touch and shoot, he's closed down in the box and it's cleared behind for a corner.
City not into their stride just yet as they're knocking the ball around the back four but a loose pass from Kolarov hands possession back to the Turkish side.
Early corner for Manchester City but it's dealt with by the Besiktas defence.
We're underway in Austria.
