A virtual spectator for much of the game, the Germany keeper should have done far more to keep out the Dusseldorf goals. Looked fairly comfortable with crosses, though.
Made himself an unlikely hero with a late strike, but looked slightly off the pace in the first-half, not least with the goal.
D. Van Buyten
Was slightly static in the build-up to the opener, but was a threat to the Dusseldorf goal, particularly in the first half as he met a succession of Kroos set-pieces.
Afforded Van den Bergh far too much room for the first goal and was nowhere to be seen for the second, but atoned for his error with two lovely assists. His crossing was fantastic throughout.
Put in another outstanding display at left-back, getting forward in support of Ribery well and setting up a succession of chances for his team-mates, who were wasteful in front of goal.
Once again, the Frenchman was Bayern's liveliest player, giving Balogun a hard time down the left wing, and equalised after a superb exchange of passes with Pizarro. It is a miracle he didn't get himself an assist, too.
The Brazilian looked slightly off the pace in midfield, affording Dusseldorf's players too much space. To cap it all, he was booked for a dreadful late tackle.
Did not pull the strings as much he has in recent weeks, but put in a tidy showing, presenting his colleagues with great set-pieces, which were eventually wasted.
Put in a tidy enough display in the centre of the park, setting up a couple of chances for team-mates, but was not as influential as he has been in recent weeks.
Fluffed his lines on a couple of occasions in the Dusseldorf box, but was able to find space throughout, and scored an excellent equaliser late in the first half.
Was not his day. Saw a couple of headers well saved by Giefer, but should have scored when Ribery presented him with a tap in which he eventually missed.
Made a countless number of fantastic saves. Was an absolute hero for his side, and was unlucky to end up on the losing side.
J. van den Bergh
Failed to deal with Lahm and Muller doubling up on him, but had a hand in the first goal with a fantastic cross. Did his best to see off the onslaught.
Dug deep and put in a fine defensive performance. It just so happened that Bayern's attack were too good to hold off for the full 90 minutes.
Arguably his side's finest outfield player, the defender ensured that Mario Mandzukic had a frustrating afternoon, and was a great presence in the air.
Was given a hard time by a rampant Ribery, but worked well in tandem with his team-mates in dropping back and crowding out the Bayern attack.
Curtailed his attacking instincts on the left wing to help his side dig deep and track Lahm and Muller and did his best to start counterattacks.
Much was expected oh him going into the game, but he failed to live up to his billing, coasting throughout. His touch looked off when in possession.
Set up the first goal with a brilliantly weighted header and scored the second with a calm finish. A great performance under difficult circumstances.
Tracked back well enough, but was largely anonymous and wasteful in possession when his side won back the ball.
Dropped back to help out his defence with great effect, keeping Kroos fairly quiet in open play and crowding out Bayern attacks.
Was handed a surprise start by Norbert Meier and vindicated the decision with a well-taken goal to give his side the lead. Saw little of the ball apart from that, though.
