  • The result keeps Bayern four points clear at the top of the Bundesliga, while Braunschweig remain rooted to the foot of the table. That's all from me for this afternoon guys and girls. Goodbye!
  • FULL-TIME: BAYERN 2-0 BRAUNSCHWEIG - The Bavarian giants continued their fabulous start to life under Guardiola as they recorded their 18th home win in a row. Robben bagged both goals before the break to seal all three points for the Bundesliga leaders, although Braunschweig did show signs of life going forward after the break, particularly when Bellarabi's deflected free kick crashed against the woodwork.
  • 90' + 2'
And there is the final whistle after an uneventful couple of minutes of added time!
  • 90'
The fourth official signals for two minutes of added time at the Allianz Arena...
  • 89'
Van Buyten catches a Kumbela arm to the face and is clutching his face in the centre circle while play carries on around him. The Belgian does not look too comfortable as the clock runs down.
  • 87'
Robben swings a cross into the box from the right with his left foot and but for a vital glove from Davari the ball would have flown inadvertently into the top corner. The former Real Madrid man nearly had his hat-trick in very fortuitous circumstances there!
  • 85'
BELLARABI HITS THE BAR! A free kick from the Braunschweig midfielder takes a huge deflection from the Bayern wall on its route to goal, which flummoxes Neuer and sends the ball crashing onto the crossbar.
  • 83'
ROBBEN GOES CLOSE! The winger looks determined to get his hat-trick and having hit the crossbar with a free kick 10 minutes ago he now forces Davari into a very good save after racing into the box on the right and curling an effort towards the bottom left corner.
  • 82'
GREAT DEFENDING FROM DANTE! The Brazilian makes amends for his miskick a few moments ago by throwing himself in front of Kumbela to nick the ball away from the striker as he looks to connect with a cross from the left.
  • 81'
A dodgy touch from Dante sends a hopeful Braunschweig cross towards goal but Neuer is cool, calm and collected as he controls the ball with his feet and dribbles away from danger.
  • 79'
    SubstitutionMarco Caligiuri Torsten Oehrl
  • 79'
Braunschweig make their second change of the game as Caliguri is replaced by Torsten Oehrl with 10 minutes remaining.
  • 77'
STAT: Bayern have not kept possession as well in this half. They have only had 78% of the ball since the interval, compared to 79 beforehand. Guardiola should be furious.
  • 75'
That chance has given Braunschweig an injection of belief as we head into the final 15 minutes at the Allianz Arena. The visitors are playing with a renewed sense of urgency.
  • 73'
UNBELIEVABLE FROM ALABA! The Austrian full-back flings out a leg to deflect a goalbound effort from Bellarabi over his own crossbar after Neuer had come racing off his line to block Kumbela. That was superb covering from the left-back!
  • 71'
ROBBEN HITS THE BAR!! The Netherlands international takes the set piece himself and his effort is a superb one, in fact the crossbar is the only thing that stops him from completing his hat-trick as his curling shot clips the woodwork.
  • 70'
Robben goes down again and Bayern have a free kick 25 yards, just right of centre. There is a bunch of red shirts queuing up to take it!
  • 68'
One such move ends with an inviting cross into the box from Gotze, but no Bayern player puts in the necessary effort to meet the pass and it bounces out for a goal-kick to the away side.
  • 67'
Mandzukic has looked bright for the hosts since his introduction, playing a series of neat flicks out to the overlapping Gotze and Alaba on the left.
  • 65'
MISPLACED PASS ALERT: Kroos tries to find Mandzukic inside the penalty area but his pass is intercepted by Dogan. An unsuccessful pass from the Bayern midfielder is rare to find these days.
  • 63'
STAT: Bayern have completed 648 passes compared to Braunschweig's 168, with an astonishing 90% pass completion.
  • 61'
Kroos curls the free kick onto the head of Martinez, but for the second time this afternoon he heads over Davari's crossbar.
  • 60'
Theuerkauf crashes into Robben and Bayern are handed a free kick to the right of the Braunschweig box. Kroos and Robben stand over the set piece...
  • 59'
    SubstitutionSimeon Jackson Gianluca Korte
  • 59'
Hang your head Simeon – that was atrocious. The former Norwich man has a chance to test Neuer but blasts high and wide from 20 yards. Lieberknecht has clearly seen enough as he hauls the attacker off immediately.
  • 57'
    SubstitutionThomas Müller Mario Mandzukic
  • 57'
Guardiola makes his first change of the afternoon by bringing on Mario Mandzukic – who has been struggling recently with a calf injury – for Muller.
  • 56'
Bayern have not threatened with the same intensity since the break, which has allowed Braunschweig the time and space to string some passes together. A comeback looks unlikely but the players are certainly enjoying themselves more in this second half.
  • 54'
GLORIOUS CHANCE FOR BICAKCIC!! The corner is flicked on to the centre-back but his lunging volley goes some way wide with Neuer dragged out of position. That could have easily been 2-1!
  • 53'
Jackson does well to win a corner on the right for the visitors. A chance to get back in this game perhaps?
  • 52'
Theuerkauf decides not to bother running to keep a pass from Kratz in play on the left for the away team, which prompts some furious gestures from his coach in the Braunschweig dugout.
  • 50'
Alaba gets to the byline for Bayern and whips a cross into the box, but there are no red shirts attacking the ball and it bounces all the way through to the Braunschweig left-back Theuerkauf.
  • 48'
Boland surrenders possession in a very dangerous area just outside his own box but Bayern do not make him pay for his dallying, as Muller's cross is headed clear by Bicakcic.
  • 47'
A SHOT! A SHOT FOR BRAUNSCHWEIG! The visitors stun the Allianz Arena by registering an attempt on target, which Neuer has to dive to his left to stop rolling over the line after a big deflection on Caliguri's strike diverted the ball goalwards.
  • 46'
Bayern get the second half rolling and immediately look to push forward down the right through Robben...
  • We're back for the second half at the Alliaz Arena, where Bayern will look to improve on their disappointing 79% possession from the opening 45 minutes.
  • HALF-TIME: BAYERN 2-0 BRAUNSCHWEIG - It has been a half of pure dominance from the league leaders and they deservedly lead by two thanks to a double from Robben. The Dutchman has been superb in the opening 45 minutes, as have many of his team-mates. The visitors, meanwhile, have seen very little of the ball and have spent the vast majority of the game in their own half trying to stem wave after wave of Bayern attacks.
  • 45'
And there is the half-time whistle!
  • 44'
Bayern complete what seems like 100 passes without the visitors touching the ball. They finally do when Alaba's cross from the left is headed clear by Dogan.
  • 43'
Kroos whips a fine ball into the penalty area but Martinez's header is not up to scratch and balloons high over the crossbar.
  • 42'
Free kick to the hosts late in the half after Robben is sent crashing to the turd by Boland. A chance for a third here for Guardiola's side...
  • 41'
Jackson tries to thread an enticing pass through to Boland, who has burst forward from midfield for the visitors, but Dante is alert to the danger and saunters in to steal the ball before it reaches the Braunschweig midfielder.
  • 40'
Elsewhere in the Bundesliga this afternoon, second-placed Leverkusen are beating Nurnberg thanks to an early goal from Son Heung-Min.
  • 39'
Some neat footwork from Robben wins a corner for the hosts, but he wastes the resulting set piece by whipping it straight into the hands of Davari.
  • 38'
A fairly tame effort from Thiago is gathered gratefully by Davari as the red waves continue to crash into the Braunschweig box as we approach the break.
  • 36'
STAT: The top and bottom-placed sides have met 82 times in Bundesliga history, with the leaders winning 49 of those games, the basement team 11 and there being 22 draws. (via
  • 34'
The Netherlands international combines well with the overlapping Rafinha on the right, with the full-back then picking out Martinez in space 30 yards from goal. The former Athletic Bilbao midfielder's effort is just off target though, as the ball fizzes a yard or so wide.
  • 32'
Bayern are pushing forward in search of a third before the break. Robben has just close to completing his hat-trick with a venomous shot from 25 yards, but he got just too much on it and the ball flew over Davari's crossbar and into the stands.
  • 31'
So that second goal takes Robben to six for the Bundesliga campaign and surpasses his tally for the whole league season last time round.
  • 30'
    Assist Toni Kroos
  • 30'
    Goal Arjen Robben
ROBBEN DOUBLES BAYERN'S LEAD!! The flying Dutchman scores his second of the afternoon and again it comes from a long ball over the top, this time from Kroos. The former Chelsea man controlled the ball well and rifled a left-foot shot past Davari's dive and into the top corner.
  • 29'
STAT: Bayern have scored at least three goals in their last three home matches in the Bundesliga.
  • 27'
Jackson flicks a pass into the feet of Caliguri in the centre circle and he is unceremoniously dumped to the floor by a dual-challenge from van Buyten and Martinez. The away side, quite rightly, are awarded a free kick for the double foul.
  • 26'
Robben is sporting some quite lurid red tights today underneath the Bayern kit. I'm not sure how I feel about such attire's position in the modern game. Having said that a quick check of a Munich weather forecast shows it's a chilly three degrees in Munich today so maybe he's got an excuse.
  • 24'
AN ATTACK FOR BRAUNSCHWEIG! Bellarami thunders down the right wing and hooks a cross into the centre, but it is cleared away under little pressure by Dante. That was fun while it lasted!
  • 23'
What was a 4-3-3 for the visitors has become a 6-4-0 formation. They have been camped inside their half in the opening 22 minutes and with Bayern continuing to nonchalantly stroke the ball around at their own leisure that does not look like changing anytime soon.
  • 21'
Braunschweig are being forced into making some last-ditch tackles on the outskirts of their penalty area, as first Robben and then Gotze try and get shots away.
  • 20'
HEADER CLEARED OFF THE LINE!! Dante risest highest at a corner to nod the ball towards the top corner, but Theuerkauf proves the merit of having a defender on the line in such situations as he leaps to head the Brazilian's effort away from underneath the crossbar.
  • 18'
Alaba motors down the left and carves his way to the byline before winning a corner off the legs of the Braunschweig right-back Elabdellaoui.
  • 17'
Another Thiago pass finds Muller in space on the left-hand side and he does very well to cushion a header into the path of Kroos. The energetic midfielder hits an effort first-time with his left, but it is blocked by the midriff of Dogan on the penalty spot.
  • 15'
VITAL TACKLE FROM BOLAND! The Braunschweig No.10 tracks back well to hook the ball away from Gotze after he had drifted past three challenges on his way into the penalty area. The German attacker was just about to pull the trigger with his left foot, but was stopped from doing so by Boland's fine intervention.
  • 14'
Robben bustles into the box on the right-hand side but is promptly crowded out by three of four yellow-and-blue shirts, including former Norwich man Simeon Jackson.
  • 12'
STAT: The visitors have picked up half of their eight-point haul for the season on the road, but will take no confidence from their record at Bayern, winning none and losing 14 of their last 18 trips to Bavaria.
  • 11'
All 11 Braunschweig players are pinned back in their own half here, which is pretty astonishing considering the game is barely 10 minutes old. The home team have been very impressive so far, they have had a monopoloy on possession and deserve their early lead.
  • 10'
Dogan chests a long pass from the Bayern half into the path of his team-mate Theuerkauf as Guardiola's team switch their playing style briefly to try and work the ball into the penalty area.
  • 9'
The Spanish duo of Thiago and Javi Martinez are playing a game of keep-ball by themselves in the centre of the pitch as they toy with their opposition. The hosts are being patient in their build-up play and the only few occasions that Braunschweig have got the ball in the past five minutes have been courtesy of generous offside decisions.
  • 7'
Dante is beaten to the ball by Bicakvic on the penalty spot, as the Brazilian looks to connect with a Toni Kroos free kick from the right-hand side.
  • 6'
STAT: That is Robben's fifth goal of the Bundesliga campaign, in just his twelfth game. Last season he only managed five over the course of the whole league season.
  • 5'
Thiago, fresh from providing that fantastic assist for the opener, sprays another fine pass from his position in front of the Bayern back four, this time to Muller on the left. The Germany international slightly mistimes his run though and the flag is quickly up for offside.
  • 3'
Not the start Braunschweig will have wanted. The league leaders are ahead within three minutes of kick-off!
  • 2'
    Goal Arjen Robben
ROBBEN PUTS BAYERN AHEAD!! The diminutive Dutchman knocks the ball in at the second time of asking after combining brilliantly with Thiago. The Spanish midfielder lofted a wonderful pass over the away defence and Robben plucked the ball from the sky with his left before having a half volley tipped on to the post. The rebound fell kindly for him though, and he nodded the ball over the line to put the hosts 1-0 up.
  • 1'
Braunschweig get the game underway and quickly lose possesion on the near side. Fortunately for the visitors Thomas Muller makes a bit of a mess of his cross into the box and Dogan is able to hack the ball away.
  • The teams are out at the Allianz Arena and we are just moments away from kick-off. Fingers crossed it is a cracker!
  • OMINOUS STAT: Bayern have won 27 of their last 30 Bundesliga matches, including their previous 17 home fixtures. Braunschweig will certainly have their work cut out this afternoon!
  • BRAUNSCHWEIG TEAM NEWS: The visitors line up in an attacking 4-3-3 formation, with Simeon Jackson and Karim Bellarabi flanking Domi Kumbela in attack. Elsewhere in the side Ermin Bicakcic partners Deniz Dogan at centre-back for Lieberknecht's men.
  • BAYERN TEAM NEWS: Manuel Neuer captains the Bavarian giants in the absence of the injured Lahm, while Daniel van Buyten comes in at centre-back as Jerome Boateng is dropped to the bench. Mario Gotze or Thomas Muller will play as a new-fangled 'false nine' in a 4-1-4-1 formation for the hosts.
  • SUBS: Korte, Petkovic, Vrancic, Ademi, Oehrl, Washausen, Correia
  • BRAUNSCHWEIG (4-3-3): Davari; Elabdellaoui, Bicakcic, Dogan, Theuerkauf; Kratz, Caliguri, Boland; Bellarabi, Kumbela, Jackson
  • SUBS: Starke, Hojbjerg, Boateng, Contento, Green, Kirchhoff, Mandzukic
  • BAYERN (4-1-4-1): Neuer; Rafinha, van Buyten, Dante, Alaba; Martinez; Robben, Thiago, Kroos, Muller; Gotze
  • Without further ado, let's have a quick look at the two starting XIs before kick-off...
  • The versatile defender/midfielder/superstar was forced off just 28 minutes into Bayern's Champions League win at CSKA Moscow on Wednesday after picking up a hamstring injury. He joins a lengthy queue for the treatment room at Bayern, with Bastian Schweinsteiger, Franck Ribery, Xerdan Shaqiri, Claudio Pizarro, Diego Contento and Holger Badstuber all still out.
  • Pep Guardiola's team have romped to the top of the Bundesliga with 35 points from their opening 13 matches – a record for a new manager in Germany – while Braunschweig are at the opposite end of the table having one just twice in the league this campaign. The odds are heavily stacked comprehensively against Torsten Lieberknecht's side, but they will be boosted by the absence of Bayern's captain Philip Lahm through injury.
