Klopp fist pumps in jubilation as his team secure an incredible result that blows this title race wide open. A great day for Dortmund, with their stellar defensive effort providing the platform for a narrow victory. They move onto 26 points, only two behind Bayern, who may well be regretting the decision to insert the off-color Robben into the starting XI. They could not find a breakthrough, and are now looking warily over their shoulder at the chasing pack. From me, Keeghann Sinanan, its goodbye, but stay with us for our full repertoire of post-match coverage and join us again whenever you need your footie fix! Till next time!
90' + 3'
We have full time!!!
90' + 2'
Bayern pump the ball into the box one last time. Gomez tries to win a header, but the ball rolls out harmlessly towards the touchline.
90' + 1'
Oomph. From Alaba's corner, Ribery attempts an audacious flying volley that almost takes Bender's shoulder off and flies over the bar.
We're into two minutes of injury time...
KROOS!! The equalizer was there! Ribery's close control retains the ball in the area under pressure, and he tees up Kroos for a shot from the edge of the area. However, it flashes about half a foot wide with Weidenfeller beaten!
Late body-check by Boateng on Gotze after a scramble for possession between Luis Gustavo and a few Dortmund players. Gustavo appeals for a foul, but Boateng is penalized instead.
All hands on deck for Dortmund now. Bayern are slowly and belatedly, beginning to create chances. Klopp's boys have done a fantastic job defensively o far, they just need to see out this last stretch.
...which Badstuber bends over the bar from 25 yards out. Disappointing effort in the end.
Alaba tries a cheeky dive to win a penalty against Schmelzer, nothing doing. Moments later, Boateng charges through the middle and is felled by Hummels. This time, the referee does blow for a free kick...
Ten minutes remaining...Bayern have started to kick start their last offensive. Weidenfeller has had to make his first two saves of the match in quick succession.
Weidenfeller called into action again!!!! Kroos releases Ribery with a great through ball, but the Frenchman's low shot is saved by the keeper's legs! Almost went through the wickets there!
GUSTAVO!!! A tricky bouncing effort from 25 yards out by the midfielder forces Weidenfeller into a smart diving save! Good goalkeeping!
Lewandowski scores...but its offside! A four on two break sees the Pole round Neuer and slot home, but the linesman's flag halts the BVB celebrations!
Yellow Card Sebastian Kehl
Bender wide! Kagawa holds the ball at the edge of the area, and with ho one tracking Benders run, feeds his teammate square. However, his shot is about two meters off the far post!
BVB, buoyed by breaking the deadlock, are maintaining a spell of pressure in the Bayern half. Their final ball is still lacking, but their confidence is growing.
Bayern are shell-shocked. They really need a change of plan now, because nothing has worked for them and they are in danger of coming away with nothing.
Goal Mario Götze
GOTZE GRABS THE OPENER!!!!! Lewandowski advances through the middle and picks out Kagawa in the area. The Japanese trips, but does enough to poke the ball high towards Gotze and Boateng. There, the young German takes advantage of Boateng's indecisiveness to stroke home from twelve yards out!!
Robben unfairly called for handball near the touchline, even though replays show he controlled it with his shoulder about two feet from the linesman.
Muller and Robben screaming for a free kick after the German goes down under pressure from Hummels. No dice, and the crowd is furious.
Yellow Card Holger Badstuber
Yellow for Badstuber, deservedly given after a late, crunching slide tackle on Piszczek.
Ooooh chance for Dortmund!! Lewandowski's reverse ball frees Kagawa onto goal, but Neuer is quick off his line to thwart his attempted lob at the edge of the box. The rebound falls to Gotze, who fires it wide! Klopp is animated on the touchline!
Kroos tries to send Gomez through again, but Bender intercepts the pass with his chest and cuts out the chance.
GOMEZ! A great through ball over the top releases the German, who has a step on Santana, but he hits a half volley wide of the post.
Muller tries and fails to charge directly through the heart of the BVB backline. Weidenfeller collects.
LEWANDOWSKI! First real chance for the visitors! Piszczek's pinpoint cross from the right evades Boateng, but the Polish striker heads over from eight yards out!
The defensive intensity on Robben is just incredible - Schmelzer, Kehl and Bender crowd him out when he recieves the ball at the edge of the area. No room to breathe.
Another Dortmund foul, this time Robben comes off worse in a clash of heads with Schmelzer. There was a knee raised by the BVB fullback that gave away the freekick.
Lewandowski lunges on Lahm near the benches and gives away a free kick. The Bayern captain may have already been tripping, but foul called.
Bayern controlling possession in the early goings of the second-half. However, Dortmund's pressure does not allow them within 35 yards of Weidenfeller's goal.
We're off again, here's to a more entertaining half!
What a limp and largely uninspired opening 45 minutes of football. It's been more of a chess match than a carnival, with some impressive defending by Hummels and co. giving Bayern stage fright whenever they get within 40 yards of goal. Ribery skied the only chance of the first half over the bar, and Heynckes no doubt be looking to reshuffle things in the locker room. Klopp meanwhile, will be looking for more of the same from his men, because a point at the Allianz Arena is not a bad result. Join us for the second-half in a bit!
The ref has seen enough for one half and blows for the break.
Kroos with another silly foul, pushing Kagawa to the ground near the centre circle. Freekick.
Half-time approaching with a whimper rather than a bang. Both do not look in top gear, but I wager that Klopp will be the happier boss if this scoreline persists
Rafinha tries to put Robben through with a long ball from defence, but with Hummels keeping the Dutchman honest, Weidenfeller rushes out and clears the danger.
Yellow Card Luiz Gustavo
Luis Gustavo booked for impeding Piszczek
Hummels with a great piece of defending, making himself big on a slide challenge that intercepts Muller's attempted through ball to Gomez. Well played.
Small spell of possession for the hosts in the opposition half. but once again, the attack breaks down when it reaches Robben. Again, Dortmund are doing a good job crowding him out.
Lewandowski wins a corner after his effort from 20 yards out is blocked. However, Gotze's delivery comes to nothing and Bayern clear.
Penalty? From the throw in, Ribery squares up against Santana again, this time he races for the byline and goes down in the box under the slightest of tugs. Nothing given, and rightly so.
Kroos runs through midfield and hits a searching ball to Ribery, but an excellent tackle by Santana puts it out for a throw.
Finally, we have the first chance! Robben on the right cuts back to Ribery near the penalty spot, but his shot sails miles over the bar. It was only a half-chance, but at least it was something to break the monotony.
Dortmund have defended diligently here so far. They have been quick to pressure the ball, and get multiple men on Robben and RIbery whenever either wide man receives the ball. The Bavarians are finding it difficult to gain an opening.
Robben gets the ball on the right, tries to cut in but is blocked out by Kehl. He's not having the best of times on the wing so far, his fitness may be holding him back.
Sloppy play from both sides, an unsightly series of mistimed passes and slack movement sees play bog down in midfield in the last minute or two.
Not the best start for either team. Dortmund look a little bit more comfortable, but their final ball has let them down. Meanwhile, Bayern are having no luck with the aerial game, and appear a bit jittery when they get within shooting range.
Rafinha attempts to cross to Gomez, but Hummels again gets his head to it. He's won about five headers already, Bayern need to switch their approach.
Hummels back on after a quick blast of magic spray
Ribery advances down the left, but his cutback to Muller finds the German with his feet in a muddle. Meanwhile, Hummels is taken off for treatment after a clash of heads with Muller on the very next play.
Bayern have settled into an uneasy pattern of long balls over the top, which have all been dealt with by Hummels and Santana with relative ease.
Another foul called - this time Schmelzer impedes Robben as he attempts to break from his half.
Gomez tries to control a long ball but tangles his feet at the top of the BVB box. The rebound spills to Robben who falls victim to the same clumsiness. Dortmund regain possession.
He tries a Ronaldinho-esque low shot under the jump of the wall, but it bends about a foot wide. Clever attempt though.
Gotze's free kick is handled by the Bayern wall, and they are penalized 10 yards for the indiscretion. Much more interesting now...
Long ball by Kroos is headed away by Hummels, who is slow to get to his feet. BVB attack, and Kehl wins a free kick about 35 yards out after Kroos fouls him.
Bayern attacking more down Ribery's left flank in the early goings, a wise move that gives Robben time unencumbered on the other flank to get his sea legs and get back to grips with things.
Santana, under pressure from Gomez passes back to Weidenfeller, but his clearance is skewed into Ribery's path. However, Piszczek tackles it out for a throw.
Dortmund applying a bit of high pressure early, forcing Neuer and Boateng into a short game of one-touch. Moments later, Kroos clatters Piszczek near the touchline, foul given.
Corner to BVB - Kagawa is fed by Piszczek towards the byline, but Boateng sends it out to safety. From the resulting delivery, a wayward header by Hummels is cleaned up by the Bayern defence.
First touch for Ribery is a foul on Piszczek, the Frenchman a little to eager in his attempts to beat his man to the byline. Freekick.
Here we go!!!!!
As expected, a full house here tonight. The players make their way onto the pitch for the pre-match handshakes - Bayern in their standard red kit and Dortmund in their traditional yellow and black.
We're moments away from getting down to business...
Meanwhile, Marcel Schmelzer has shaken off a calf strain he picked up on international duty to start for Dortmund at left-back. Let's hope he's in good shape, because he'll be up against the flying Dutchman, and even a half-fit Robben is better than 95 percent of the football universe
The big pre-match revelation - Arjen Robben has been confirmed in the starting XI for Bayern this evening. Robben has barely kicked a ball for Die Roten this season, but apparantly he has managed to recover enough from a groin injury that he described as his 'worst ever'. It's an attacking lineup from the league leaders here, with Robben, Kroos, Muller, Ribery and Gomez all playing from the start.
Borussia Dortmund (4-2-3-1): Weidenfeller; Piszczek, Santana, Hummels, Schmelzer; Bender, Kehl; Gotze, Kagawa, Grosskreutz; Lewandowski Subs: Langerak, Owomoyela, Lowe, Perisic, Gundogan, Leitner, Barrios
Bayern Munich (4-2-3-1): Neuer; Rafinha, Boateng, Badstuber, Lahm; Luiz Gustavo, Kroos; Robben, Muller, Ribery; Gomez Subs: Butt, Van Buyten, Contento, Pranjic, Alaba, Petersen, Olic
