T. Müller 5'
D. Van Buyten 19'
A. Robben 90'
The early goal from Muller set the tone on the day, and after Van Buyten made it 2-0, the visitors simply had no answer. For Leverkusen it will be seen as a bitter defeat given their recent results; for Bayern, it was business as usual. That's all from here - I hope you enjoyed tonight's coverage. Tune in next week as both teams feature in the Champions League. Until then, all the best.
FULL TIME! Just 36 seconds into added time, Grafe blows his whistle, as Bayern seal their ninth clean sheet and win in as many games.
TOOOOOR! Robben makes it 3-0! Schweinsteiger plays the Dutchman through on the right and Castro cannot get his boot to the ball. Robben takes a touch before curling his finish past the stranded Leno.
Yellow CardSidney Sam
Sam upends Rafinha and receives some harsh words - and a yellow card - from referee Manuel Grafe.
Oh, Reinartz allows Muller past him and leaves Leno with a dangerous situation! The goalkeeper is quick off his line to pounce on the ball, however.
And now Manuel Friedrich makes his first appearance of the campaign, replacing Toprak.
Alaba comes in now for Ribery, who has put in another superb performance.
GOAL! No, CALLED BACK! Tymoshchuk had hammered a long shot into the corner, but an instant before, Muller had fouled Toprak. No complaints from the hosts, who were clearly given an unfair advantage by Muller's challenge.
BRILLIANT back-heel from Muller to Ribery who is in on goal but flagged offside! Replays show the former Galatasaray man was clearly onside at the time...
Schweinsteiger takes the free kick but misses a few feet wide of the left post. Leno appeared to have it covered, in any case.
Lahm cuts in from the left and wins a free kick. That gives enough of a break for Robben to make his grand entrance, replacing Kroos.
Robben has been warming up and looks likely to make a brief appearance... Pehrpas he will inject a bit more sharpness and pace in a game that has lost its edge in the second half.
From the free kick, VAN BUYTEN heads on goal, but LENO makes a brilliant save to deny the defender his brace!
Terrible foul by Reinartz, who is booked for a blatant block of Ribery's run. The Frenchman was away from his marker. but Reinartz stuck out a leg to hack him down.
Yellow CardStefan Reinartz
GUSTAVO SHOOTS WIDE! Ribery, who is now on the right wing, passes to Schweinsteiger, who lays off for Gustavo. The Brazilian has a go, but misses the target.
Castro takes the corner and TOPRAK heads on goal! But Neuer is well positioned and makes a good catch save.
Sam wins another free kick, this time from Tymoshchuk, not far outside the left of the box. Renato Augusto swings in a cross, but Badstuber heads out for a corner.
A pair of substitutions are made now: Luiz Gustavo replaced Gomez for Bayern, meaning that Thomas Muller will lead the forward line. For the visitors, Danny is off, with Karim Bellarabi as his replacement
D. da Costa
Muller plays a dangerous ball through to Gomez, but Toprak makes a timely interception, and not for the first time this evening.
Chance for Leverkusen! Renato Augusto finds Rolfes, who tries to thread the ball in to Kiessling but has his ball deflected. It was a nervy moment for the hosts, who have to be careful if they are to keep their clean sheet.
A bit of a lull has come now. The hosts are not looking quite as strong in midfield as they had before the break. The game is still not won just yet...
Muller shows off his strength and power as he storms past Castro, then holds off the defender, who tries to pull him down. B04 do just enough to snuff out the danger as Leno claims.
CASTRO! A rare bit of lax defending from the hosts sees the Leverkusen left-back receive the ball with plenty of space. He jinks past Van Buyten and shoots on goal, but Neuer has no trouble making a catch save.
Rafinha plays a great long ball to Muller, but Leno races off his line to clear for a throw-in. An excellent bit of decision-making from the goalkeeper, who despite his years, has great judgment.
AND THE SECOND HALF BEGINS! No changes at the break - Bayern kick off, and Ribery skips to the byline before having his cross caught by Leno.
A brilliant half from the hosts, who are facing somewhat weakened, but nonetheless formidable opposition and are showing no signs of weakness. They deserve their lead. Leverkusen have class, but will have to do much better, particularly in midfield, if they are to take anything from this match. I'll be back in 15 minutes to keep you up to date with the latest developments.
The first half is coming to its close with a whimper - it appears both sides are content to go into the half-time break without risking much more. One minute to be added.
Kroos takes two short corners and each time is unmarked for a return pass. But each time Bayern fail to take advantage. Horrendous marking from the visitors, who at the moment look a very deflated side.
Van Buyten goes into the book now for pulling down Kiesling away from the ball. The Belgian protests but he quite clearly is guilty of a foul.
SCHWEINSTEIGER! Incredible work from the vice-captain, who starts things deep in his own half and skips past Rolfes with consummate ease. A few seconds later, he shows up on the end line where he makes space from Balitsch, but has his cut-back pass knocked out for a corner.
In the play leading up to the attempt, the gulf in quickness between the two teams was very clear. Bayern were just a little faster to the ball in a string of challenges...
KROOOOS... Oh, blocked! And that is a vital stop, because the midfielder appeared to have unleashed a cannon of a shot towards goal.
Eesh, that one looked painful! Ribery and Danny reach the ball at the same time, but the Bayern man places his foot over his opponent's ankle. No foul, though...
Gomez, who as of yet has looked a bit off the pace, has a header miss the target.
Now Renato Augusto tries a solo run, but is halted by Badstuber.
Oh, incredible challenge from Tymoshchuk! An errant back-pass sees Bayern concede possession to Kiessling, who has space into which to run. The Ukrainian races back and makes a dangerous challenge from behind, but it is adjudged to be clean, and play continues!
Renato Augusto floats in a free kick from the right, but Neuer has no trouble leaping to claim. The Brazilian has been absolutely silent thus far...
Yellow CardDaniel Van Buyten
Nice work by Danny as he makes a good first touch to evade Lahm, but it is too heavy and Badstuber comes to intercept.
Oh, a mistake sees possession conceded to Ribery not far from goal. Gomez makes a run towards goal, but is called offside. The crowd is so loud that it takes him several seconds to realise that play has stopped...
Bender is whistled for a tackle from behind on Ribery, and gives Da Costa a real tongue-lashing for not stepping forward to to challenge the Bayern man. It really is a baptism by fire for the youngster...
Van Buyten's inclusion as a starter was rather curious, given his occasional shortcomings at the back and Jerome Boateng's impressive form. But quite clearly, Heynckes knows best.
TOOOOOOOR VAN BUYTEN MAKES IT 2-0! The Belgian hammers a tremendous low drive towards goal, and it manages to skip straight through the wall and into the lower-left corner!
GoalDaniel Van Buyten
Yellow CardÖmer Toprak
Another booking for Leverkusen! Toprak is too slow to the ball as Kroos bursts to it. A rather vicious challenge from the former Freiburg man, but it was the only way he could deny a potential chance on goal.
Oh, gorgeous work from Muller and Ribery on the right! The German lays it off for the Frenchman, who plays another dangerous low cross into the box. This time, Toprak sticks in a foot to clear for a throw-in.
The match has taken on a very different tone since the opener. Leverkusen are looking much more stable, a surprise given how easy Ribery made the opener look.
Sam out-runs Van Buyten to a ball bouncing towards the end line, but his cross is poorly placed and sails out of play.
Rafinha commits his second foul of the match as he catches Sam, who had done well in getting a step advantage on his marker. The Bayern man is very fortunate not to have been booked.
Yellow CardStefan Kießling
First booking of the match goes to Kiessling, who left his foot out to catch Schweinsteiger. It was a rather nasty foul above the Bayern man's ankle.
KIESSLING! Great work from the striker as he evades Badstuber and bears down on goal, but Neuer makes himself wide and pounces to save.
Brilliant ball from Tymoshchuk to Muller on the right, but Leno leaps to catch the Germany international's cross.
Better from Leverkusen as Sam wins a free kick on the left flank, but Neuer rises to claim the resulting cross in his hands.
Ooh, Bayern nearly make it 2-0 as Muller crosses low to Gomez, who fails to redirect on target.
TOOOOR! MULLER MAKES IT 1-0! Kroos starts it off by finding Gomez, who plays to Ribery in the corner of the box. The Frenchman skips past Danny, then cuts back to Muller, who finishes from close range. Brilliant!
Plenty of possession early for the hosts as B04 really do not look interested in keeping much of the ball. Danny tries a long ball in the direction of Kiessling, but it will take more than that to break down the hosts' defence.
AND THE MATCH KICKS OFF! Bayern try to strike early, but Muller's cross from the right sails out of play.
The players are on the pitch and we're almost underway now...
Subs: Jorgensen, Derdiyok, Bellarabi, Oczipka, Friedrich, Yelldell
Leverkusen (4-2-3-1): Leno; Da Costa, Reinartz, Toprak, Castro; Bender, Rolfes; Balitsch, Renato Augusto, Sam; Kiessling
Leverkusen have been forced to make a few changes as well. Andre Schurrle and Michal Kadlec are suspended, while Michael Ballack has been ruled out due to injury. Most interestingly, 18-year-old Germany youth international Danny Da Costa has been selected to play at right-back.
Subs: Butt, Boateng, Contento, Gustavo, Robben, Alaba, Petersen
Bayern (4-2-3-1): Neuer; Rafinha, Van Buyten, Badstuber, Lahm; Tymoshchuk, Schweinsteiger; Muller, Kroos, Ribery; Gomez
Starting line-ups are in, and there are surprises from both sides. Bayern coach Jupp Heynckes has opted to play Daniel Van Buyten and Anatoliy Tymoshchuk in place of previous starters Jerome Boateng and Luiz Gustavo. Mario Gomez returns to the starting line-up, replacing Nils Petersen, while Arjen Robben could make an appearance as a substitute after recovering from a pelvic injury.
Tonight's game will be important for the morale of both teams ahead of their Champions League fixtures in the coming week. Bayern will play Manchester City on Tuesday, also at home, and B04 will play host to Genk a day later.
Leverkusen have had less convincing form as of late; they recently lost their Champions League opener against Chelsea, and were later humiliated 4-1 at home by Koln in the Rhine derby.
The hosts enter tonight's game in phenomenal form, having kept clean sheets in their last eight competitive matches and winning each.
