  • FULL-TIME! It ends 3-0 here to the home side which is thoroughly deserved. Leverkusen looked impressive like they have the majority of the season while Wolfsburg are still looking like unlikely relegation candidates. Renato Augusto in particular was brilliant today. Champions League football is certainly on the cards for Jupp Heynckes' men and who can say they won't deserve it? That's it from us today. Hope you enjoyed this one. Auf Wiedersehen.
  • 90'
Wolfsburg have been woeful today, they really have. The away side are still looking to try and create something but last weekend's victory over Gladbach has not given the side the confidence people expected. Back to the drawing board.

  • 75'
Wolfsburg are running out of time and ideas at the moment. Bayer will be happy to run down the clock and claim an easy three points.
  • 72'
Kadlec steps up to send a curling effort goalwards from the resulting free-kick from 25 yards out. Not a bad shot but Benaglio can watch on in comfort as it bounces wide of goal.
  • 71'
    Yellow Card Arne Friedrich
  • 71'
Friedrich receives a yellow card for a foul on Rolfes. The German international now has five yellow cards this season and will miss next week's home tie versus Nuernberg.

  • 67'
Decent save from Benaglio as the 'keeper tips a Sam shot over the bar for a corner to die Werkself. Can the home team make it four?

  • 57'
Polak plays it to Hasebe just inside the box put the Japanese midfielder can only drag his shot wide of goal from 15 yards out.

  • 54'
Diego delivers a better cross from the right this time as his ball is met by the head of Polak. However his header fails to cause any problems for Adler as it drifts off target.
  • 53'
No.. His delivery is weak and fails to beat the first man (not for the first time today). Wolfsburg need some inspiration but from who?

We're back underway here for the second half. Wolfsburg will be looking for an early goal and will be hoping substitute Mbokani can open his account for die Woelfe. The Congo international is on for Helmes who looked like he was struggling for full match fitness.
  • HALF-TIME! Leverkusen are good value for their 3-0 lead and it looks increasingly unlikely that Wolfsburg will earn their first win in the North Rhine-Westphalian city. Join us for the second half to see if Littbarski's men can stage an unlikely comeback or even learn how to defend.
  • 45' + 1'
TOR KIESSLING! Renato Augusto flicks a ball over the top of a static looking Wolfsburg defence and Kielling races through before poking the ball high past an on-rushing Benaglio. Kjaer should have been marking the German striker there but was nowhere near getting to him.
  • 45'

Schaefer floats a good looking ball into a crowded box but Adler does very well to claim the ball cleanly to avert the danger.

The home side counter-attack at pace with the ball being slid to Renato Augusto by Rolfes. The Brazilian has a clear run at goal and chooses to strike the ball from the edge of the area. It's not the most poweful effort but the ball creeps under Benaglio to make it 2-0. Poor goalkeeping from the man who kept his side in it a few minutes ago.

  • 24'
GREAT SAVE FROM BENAGLIO! Nearly 2-0 to the home side when Bender flicks the ball back to Castro. The right-back who is standing in for Barnetta on the left-wing is 15 yards from goal and sends a powerful volley towards the top corner but the Swiss shot-stopper acrobatically turns it over the bar. • 19'
The middle of the park looks heavily congested at the moment and with Wolfsburg going slightly defensive with Hasebe, Riether, Polak and Cicero, the home side are struggling to get through the midfield. Renato Augusto in particular is having to come deep to receive the ball.
  • 16'
Sam whips in a good cross which is met by Kiessling. However, the striker can only watch on as his tame header is caught by Benaglio.
  • 14'
    SubstitutionManuel Friedrich Domagoj Vida
  • 14'

SO CLOSE FROM WOLFSBURG! The home side have come into the game in the last few minutes and should be 1-0 up. Cicero races past Levrrkusen's depleted defence and crosses for Riether. The midfielder is six yards out and with Adler beaten should score but can only hit the post.

Die Werkself have settled into a decent rhythm early on with Bender deputising for the influential Vidal in the middle who is currently serving a one-game suspension. Interestingly, Ballack isn't even named on the bench with Heynckes stating the veteran international has requested time to get fully fit.
