Could have as well sit in the stands. Real Sociedad had two shots on goal, both did not even hit the target. Enough said.
Impeccable in attack tonight. Showed tremendous pace, hunger and exceptional dribbling. One of his best performances in a Barcelona shirt. Assisted Messi's first after three one-twos between the two.
Very stable down the left as he shut down Xabi Prieto with ease. Looked very good going forward and seems to have developed good understanding with Villa.
Seems to lack technique and accurate enough passing to fit seamlessly into the side. Still, worked hard in midfield and showed some crunching tackles. Surprisingly, he was the first one to leave the pitch tonight in the 52nd minute.
Had two intervene just a couple of times tonight and did decently on both occasions. Had virtually nothing to do after the break.
Had virtually nothing to do tonight and this is not an understatement. Merely a spectator.
Everything you read about him sounds like a cliche nowadays. His exceptional passing was on show tonight (one particularly poor pass come to mind in the first half, though) and dictated Barca's game superbly.
Totally deserves his rather easy goal as he was a constant thorn in Real Sociedad's defence tonight. Showed quicksilver feet and wonderful passing.
Two marvellous assists in a strong display by the young attacker. Has become much less selfish in recent games and this is certainly good news for every Spain and Barcelona fan.
Simply unplayable for the umpteenth time this year. Superbly taken first goal just after the break and a sublime solo effort for the second. Showed impeccable dribbling and interplay with his team mates, but in all honesty he did not meet much resistance from Real Sociedad's defence.
Took his first goal well and went close on a couple more occasions. Showed an array of flicks and dribbles and seems to have finally accumulated much needed confidence.
Very poor from the Chilean. Helpless for the first, third, fourth and fifth goal, but should have done much better for the second. Almost made a howler moments after Iniesta scored.
De La Bella
Had no answer to Messi and Alves' marauding runs and the fact that most of the goal came directly from his zone speaks volumes of his contribution tonight. Offered virtually nothing in attack.
Outplayed in the centre of the pitch. Merely a spectator as Xavi, Iniesta and co. passed the ball around him.
Did nothing to prevent Messi, Alves and Pedro going past him. A night to forget for defender, who struggled to contain the Catalan juggernaut and shares the fault for all five goals with Alberto De La Bella.
Struggled against Maxwell and Villa in the first half, and continued to be unable to deal with the threat down his flank after the break. His contribution in attack was non-existent.
No sign of his impeccable delivery from set-piece and runs down the right. An anonymous game from the winger. Replaced by Jeffery Sarpong in the second half.
Should have protected the back four for his team, but ended up chasing shadows for most of the game. He ran and ran, but to no avail.
Miserable night for the midfielder who barely touched the ball tonight and offered nothing both in attack and in defence. Replaced by Zurutuza in the 65th minute.
Aside from a good run on the break in the first half in which his touch let him down miserably, the young star was anonymous all game.
Spent most of the time defence and was replaced in the second half by Raul Tamudo. Deprived of service tonight.

Came on for Mascherano and did very well in his thirty-eight-minute cameo.
Came on for Xavi and fitted seamlessly into the play. A decent cameo from the Mali international.
Well, well. Came on and assisted a goal and scored one of his own moments later. Performances like this will see him earn more playing minutes for the Blaugrana.
