Live Commentary

  • Go on then, one more...the Barcelona side - all kitted out - come out onto the Camp Nou green to collect their winners medals after securing their 21st la Liga title. That really is all from me, ta ta.
  • That brings my night's activities to a close, thanks to all you Twitter-ers out there. Remember to keep it ahead of the last day action, who will go down? That is the question. Ta ta from Daniel Quinton-Navarro....
  • That point leaves Deportivo's fate in their own hands come the final match of the season; and that is all they could have asked for. They play Valencia at home in game 38, a draw that occasion may not be would have been had Xisco converted that last second chance. Just saying.
  • 90' + 2'
The corner comes to nothing, and that Riki chance was the last major moment of the game as the referee brings the match to a close and a rare 0-0 draw. Sorry sirgaz84!
  • 90' + 1'
XISCO! Deportivo should be in the lead! Guardado's ball forward somehow finds Xisco after hesistant defendering from Fontas and Barta but the man on loan from Newcastle finds the body of Valdes. Riki has a subsequent chance on the volley but Fontas recovered brilliantly well to direct the effort behind for a corner kick.
  • 90'
    SubstitutionValerón Xisco
  • 90'
Fontas spreads the ball wide superbly into the feet of Afellay but the Dutchman fails to find a teammate with his pass, unlike him, giving Lopo the chance to hack clear.
  • 89'
Riki, the substitute has some pace as he looks to run in behind Barcelona's defence but the ball forward is nowhere near him and the Blaugrana can rebuild from the back.
  • 87'
One man that may be more anxious heading into these final minutes than Lotina is sirgaz84 who tweets: "NEED a Barcelona win to complete my accumulator". Still time Gaz, still time.
  • 86'
Bojan wins a free kick after Colotto looked to win the ball from behind the stiker but Barca waste the chance to play around Deportivo's penalty area as Pablo sends the ball skywards.
  • 84'
Barcelona have scored in their last 34 games in la Liga, could well come to end tonight if Deportivo continue their valiant defending here.
  • 83'
    SubstitutionAdrián Riki
  • 82'
    SubstitutionJonathan Dos Santos Oriol Romeu
  • 81'
Afellay shows his passing capablities with a superb crossfield ball to a roaming Dani Alves. The Brazilian reached it well but his pull back was weak allowing Pablo to intercept. Alves could have done better there, and if Barca are going to scored the Brazilian is going to be involved.
  • 79'
Dani Alves takes the resulting free kick and looks to swing it inside the near post but Aranzubia came across well to push it down into the ground and safe. Lacked any pace that did from the Brazilian.
  • 78'
    Yellow Card Alberto Lopo
  • 78'
Bojan shows tremendous work ethic as he brings the ball forward, touching it beyond Aythami and Lopo, only for the latter to clip the striker's heel. Bojan tried to recover his footing as he would have been clean through but he couldn't manage it, and it'll be brought back for the free kick.
  • 75'
Getafe are 1-0 up at home, leaving Deportivo in desperate need of a point here. If they lose tonight they will be dropping into the relegation zone because of a worse head-to-head record against both Getafe and Zaragoza.
  • 74'
He won the corner so he'll take. Jeffren puts it into but a colossal Colotto gets the ball away once again.
  • 73'
Fontas gets Barcelona moving as we head into the last 20 minutes with Jeffren win a corner after Laure's diving tackle puts the ball out.
  • 73'
Fontas gets Barcelona moving as we head into the last 20 minutes with Jeffren win a corner after Laure's diving tackle puts the ball out.
  • 72'
Aranzubia comes a long way to clear the ball after it'd come off a Deportivo boot giving Afellay a sniff of a chance.
  • 70'
Pass. Pass. Pass. Pass. I could carry on as Barcelona keep it for 33 passes, the last of which Jeffren gives it to Bojan. With little ahead of him the Spanish striker puts his head down and is allowed to get into the area bfore Pablo comes across with a covering challenge. Deportivo have given it all tonight; defending to the extremes.
  • 68'
Deportivo win a free-kick five yards from the corner flag and Valeron flights it into towards Colotto at the far post but Fontas jumped well to get their ahead of the Deportivo man.
  • 66'
Barcelona have moved the ball wonderfully from Valdes and ends with Afellay looking to put a ball through for Jeffren but the winger had gone a fraction too soon and the flag was raised on the far side.
  • 65'
    SubstitutionNiouoi Lassad A. Guardado
  • 65'
Barcelona dominating proceedings now as they look to find that opening goal; and Lotina responds by introducing Guardado, a defensive midfielder for Lassad.
  • 63'
Jeffren looks to Maxwell to play the ball beyond Laure but the substitute opts to play it behind him and it goes out of play to the frustration of the Venezula international.
  • 62'
Getafe still 0-0, but Zaragoza have taken the lead in their tie bringing their points tally to 42, one behind Deportivo if results stay the same.
  • 61'
Afellay gets into space down the left hand flank but his low cross is intercepted by a sprawling Aranzubia - no Barcelona player in the area there; surprising.
  • 59'
Maxwell stole in at the far post trying to recover the situation but seemed to be clattered into by Laure - no penalty though.
  • 59'
Sense of expectance from the Barcelon faithful as they probe Deportivo's goal and it is nearly rewarded when Alves moves forward undetected to send a cross toward Bojan who is inches away with a diving header. So, so close.
  • 57'
Aythami with a long range effort but Valdes makes an easy, diving save to deny the Deportivo defender.
  • 56'
Seif Ghazi asks on Twitter who Barca's best player has been tonight; Afellay and Jeffren have both played well making bursts forward, but for me Fontas has been calm and dominate in Barcelona's defensive line so he gets my nod.
  • 55'
Afellay gets on the ball again and moves it quickly onto Jeffren who uses his pace to get beyond Laure and Colotto before Lopo comes across with a superb challenge to deny the Barca man the chance to shoot.
  • 53'
    SubstitutionJavier Mascherano Daniel Alves
  • 53'
    SubstitutionÉric Abidal Maxwell
  • 53'
Barcelona introduce Dani Alves and Maxwell for the two outfield players likely to part of the Champions League squad; Abidal and Mascherano.
  • 52'
Deportivo wait on yet another throw as they look to create space that isn't there, and once more they put it back into play only for Lassad to run it out for a goal kick. Nothing doing.
  • 50'
Ruben Perez brings the ball clear on the counter after a poor corner and sends a perfectly weighted through ball for Lassad, who takes too long to decide whether to close in on Valdes' goal on wait for support and Mascherano comes across to make a good challenge.
  • 49'
Jeffren with wonderful skils as he side steps inside Laure but he tries to be too direct as Aythami comes across to send it behind for a corner kick.
  • 47'
Pablo takes his time over a throw, and when he send it in play Barcelona win the ball back straight away. Same 22 out there as Deportivo look to move forward through Adrian.
  • 46'
Can you believe it? First shot on target comes in from Thiago, all of 25 yards out yard. It is straight at Aranzubia who makes an easy save, holding it too.
  • 45'
Barcelona get us under way, they have switched halves (they usually do) which leaves the Catalan side moving from right-to-left.
  • Would have to say that Depor have held their own tonight, but agreed. The Barca youth are giving a good account of themsevles I say that the players are back on the green turf for the second half.
  • FMN13 via Twitter asks: "Is Barca domination due to Depor poorness or these lads' drive? I say the former, though the kids definitely are doing well."
  • For you Deportivo fans frantically checking the games elsewhere, as it stands you are still out of the relegation zone with both Zaragoza and Getafe at 0-0.
  • Time for the quick trip to the loo, or to refresh the beer then as the teams head down the tunnel for the 15 minute break. Another thing you can do is leave your thoughts via twitter - @dquintonnavarro - and I'll do my best to get them up! Get twitter-ing!
  • 45' + 1'
That brings the half to a close with few goal scoring opportunites, and those that were created fell to Deportivo. This could still turn into some game, I hope anyway!
  • 45'
Barta looks for the run of Keita from deep, so unlike Barcelona, and it is well overhit leaving the Mali international to troop back to midfielder as Aranzunbia picks up the loose ball.
  • 44'
Thiago opts to deftly chip it toward the far post but Deportivo were alert to the danger and got men around the dropping ball to clear it away.
  • 43'
Afellay makes yet another burst through the middle but this time his progress forward is halted, illegally, giving Barcelona a chance from 30 yards out with a dead ball situation.
  • 42'
    Yellow Card Aythami
  • 42'
Lassad gets away from Barta far too easily but Adrian hadn't got into the area as the Frenchman's pull-back was well intercepted by Fontas waitng in the middle.
  • 41'
Laure with strong work at right back as Jeffren looks to get the better of him but the full-back ushers the ball out of play after a heavy touch from the winger took it away from his control.
  • 40'
Dos Santos sends a cross into the penatly area which is header way, but the ball loops in the air and invites Afellay to hit it on the volley. The blue-booted midfielder tries his luck but doesn't connect with it quite right as it slides off his foot and wide of the target.
  • 38'
Barcelona are being given a lot of room as they work it from side to side but as soon as they move toward the final third Deportivo move in packs to close the ball down and force Barca into the mistake. Great work, so far that is.
  • 36'
Fontas stands up well again as Adrian looks to make something of nothing again, the Spanish defender does well to wait for his chance before putting in a strong challenge and clearing it for a throw in.
  • 35'
Mascherano committs a foul in the middle of the pitch with Adrian out numbered, with the best result being a free kick for the frontman and the Argentine midfielder obliges with a needless challenge.
  • 33'
JEFFREN! Stunning run from the No. 11 as he darts inbetween Laure and Aythami inside the area. He gets to the ball ahead of Aranzubia and looks to poke it beyond the 'keeper only for Colotto to come across with a saving challenge. Superb defender, but Jeffren with a sign of what he is capable of.
  • 32'
Pablo and Lopo both make superb challenges as another Barcelona wave of attacks. Lopo makes the first challenge on Afellay cutting inside and he is backed up by Pablo who gets in ahead of dos Santos to the second ball. Great work from Deportivo.
  • 31'
Delayed decision there, the referee finally blows for a handball against Aythami and Barcelona show their continued nature by declining the chance to send it into the area. Short and sweet.
  • 30'
Pablo does well to read the ball forward but his header is weak allowing dos Santos to pick up possession, only to gift it straight back. Just got a bit scrappy in these last few minutes.
  • 28'
Afellay with a mazy run forward as he looks to creat something out of nothing; he gets the better of two Deportivo defenders but scruffs his effort along the ground.
  • 27'
Abidal takes Valdes' pass down well and strides forward before passing to Bojan's feet. The full-back will be trying to prove his fitness ahead of the Champions League clash a week on Saturday, and so far he looks sharp.
  • 26'
Superb work from Fontas who saw the ball coming out of the air and positioned himself well to get there ahead of Adrian, did well under pressure there.
  • 25'
Bojan is dispossessed brilliantly by Laure launching a quick counter with a long hoof upfield via Lopo...
  • 24'
Trooper as Fontas gets back to his feet, gives a shake of the head and we are back under away. Few others players could learn from him there.
  • 23'
OOF! Fontas takes one in the face from all of three yards away, it was determinedly hit by Adrian but the defender stood his ground and was rewarded the ball being smacked against his head. Not surprisingly, we are going to have a moments stoppage for that.
  • 21'
Bojan plays a one-two with the referee, which brings the official to blow for a free kick after his return pass was handled. Good call there from the man in the middle.
  • 19'
Barta with a wonderful touch in a dangerous area. The youngster took the ball down on his head and rolled it across his forehead before taking it forward, still balanced...he then brings it clear and finds Keita with a good pass.
  • 18'
VALERON! Deportivo work the ball into the area after the Spanish man had exhanged passes with Adrian only for Valeron to hit the half-volley from 12-yards out wide of the post; he should really have done better there.
  • 16'
He opts to send it low, towards the near post but it fails to beat the first man as Deportivo hack it clear.
  • 15'
Lopo is well beaten by Afellay and pulls the Dutchman back after he was speeding past the wide man. Dos Santos is going to swing in the resulting free kick....
  • 14'
Afellay turns well after collecting a wayward pass and tries to play in Bojan but Laure reads it well and clears the danger. Barcelona continuing to probe here.
  • 12'
Barcelona attack through Bojan once again and he sends in an inviting cross but Colotto gets a vital touch on it to take it away from the lurking Barcelona strikers. Wonderful header out.
  • 11'
Bojan in the play once again as dos Santos sends a high ball out to left flank but the former Youth player is unable to control the high ball and it goes out for a Deportivo throw.
  • 10'
Bojan moves to left before bringing it infield, and the movement allows Afellay to find the space that the Spanish striker surrender. The Dutchman does well to squeeze a low cross into the six yard box but Bojan failed to gamble leaving Aranzubia to collect unchallenged.
  • 8'
Pablo does well to get inbetween a pass aimed at Afellay using all his experience to calm the play down and usher it back to the 'keeper.
  • 7'
Barcelona content with passing here, but without the likes of Xavi and Iniesta they aren't doing so with the same pace as they usually do.
  • 6'
Barcelona shift through the gears with ease and move it up the other end and dos Santos wins a free kick in a similar positon which he gets up to take, and it skims the top of the crossbar on its way through.
  • 4'
Poor. In a word, Valeron was unable to keep it down and Barcelona with a slight let off there. Should have done better.
  • 4'
Seydou Keita is caught in possession and gives away a free kick on the edge of his own area which Valeron is going to take once the wall is placed.
  • 3'
Valdes with a superb save! A chip over the top beats the Barcelona defenders and the 'keeper comes out like a bolt to block the first effort. He can only parry it to Lassad though but Valdes gets up and makes himself big to block the second shot, promising signs for Deportivo there.
  • 2'
Barcelona attempt a long-ball through the middle which Afellay looks to get on the end of but it's too far ahead of the winger and Aranzubia picks it up easily.
  • 1'
And straight after we are under way thanks to Deportivo. The away side are kicking from right-to-left in white shirts and blue shorts against a Barcelona side in their customary home strip.
  • The players are out on the field, with a few balls being kicked around. Not far from kick-off now as the referee, C. Delgado Ferreiro blows to acknowledge a minutes silence.
  • Don’t forget to send in your predictions via twitter - @dquintonnavarro is all you need, or using the comments box, which you can find by scrolling down to the base of this page.
  • Our editor’s opinion is that Deportivo will leave Catalunya with a point tonight, picking up a 1-1 draw due to their desperateness to get a point. He says: “It’ll be up to Barcelona to supply the entertainment but Deportivo will ruin Barca’s la Liga parade with an ultra-defensive display”.
  • Deportivo la Coruna Starting XI: Aranzubia; Laure, Lopo, Aythami, Colotto, Pablo; Dominguez, Perez, Valeron, Adrian; Lassad
  • Barcelona Starting XI: Valdes; Bartra, Fontas, Mascherano, Abidal; Thiago, Dos Santos, Keita; Afellay, Bojan, Jeffren
  • Snap Shot: Barcelona make wholesale changes, with Messi, Xavi and Iniesta all missing from the starting line-up. Deportivo have gone for five at the back.
  • Lotina has masterminded just one victory away from home this season, in what could see los Turcos return to the Segunda Division for the first time since 1990/91.
  • Lionel Messi has 31 goals to his name in la Liga this season, the same number as the entire Deportivo side put together.
  • Some nitty-gritty facts for you now, Barcelona have won their last 15 games Camp Nou. Some record to start with....
  • You can get involved tonight through our comments at the bottom of this very page, or for you technological and up-to-date people you can tweet me, @dquintonnavarro on Twitter. Leave your thoughts on the game, or on who is going to be relegated. It’s easy, if I can use it – you can.
  • The favourites for the drop are la Coruna themselves, along with Getafe and Real Zaragoza. Los Turcos are worse off in the head-to-heads against their nearest rivals; having draw and lost against them both.
  • Deportivo currently languish at the foot of the table, and are just three points above the drop zone. With Hercules and Almeria both relegated, any of the teams placed 11th or lower could still be demoted.
  • One man that may not want to be given a break is a certain Lionel Messi, who is personally involved in a dual against Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo. Both players are locking horns to win the Pichichi trophy, with the Portuguese star (37) leading Messi (31) by six goals.
  • Pep Guardiola’s side clinched their third consecutive la Liga title with a 1-1 draw against Levante, which will leave the Barcelona coach the option of resting some of his key players ahead of the Champions League final against Manchester United on Saturday 28th May.
  • Welcome to and our LIVE coverage of Barcelona vs. Deportivo la Coruna, I'll be here with you to bring you all the updates from the Camp Nou ahead of this la Liga clash.
