Greece downs Austria in Vienna...Georgios Fotakis was the star of the show as Greece defeated Austria 2-1 in an international friendly in Vienna this evening.
But it wasn't all smooth sailing for Fernando Santos' side, as Austria were awarded a penalty in the fifth minute after Sokratis Papastathopoulos brought down Stefan Maierhofer in the box, but Florian Klein's ensuing spot-kick was saved by Alexandros Tzorvas.
Maierhofer then had a goal disallowed in the 36th minute for pushing Tzorvas in the lead-up to the play.
Fotakis came on at the start of the second-half, and set up the opening goal for Georgios Samaras two minutes later, when the striker headed home from inside the box to give the Euro 2004 champions the lead.
Austria defender Christian Fuchs levelled the match in the 67th minute when he fired from 25 metres.
Samaras turned provider for the PAOK midfielder with nine minutes to go when Fotakis collected a pass and slotted into the far corner past goalkeeper Christian Gratzei.
