• SGL arena, Augsburg
Referee: K. Kircher
• Attendance: 30660
R. Bobadilla 82'
T. Matavž 89'
M. Reus 11'
S. Papastathopoulos 14'
A. Ramos 78'
Goals from Reus, Sokratis and Ramos were just about enough for the away side, who get off the mark in the Bundesliga with three points. Weinzierl will have been livid with the first half performance, but his men showed real improvement after the break. That's all we have time for from the SGL Arena, I've been Simon Harrison and I hope to see you again next time.
FULL TIME! Despite a shaky last 15 minutes, Dortmund win 3-2 at Augsburg! The home side fought back admirably through goals from substitutes Bobadilla and Matavz, but Die Schwarzgelben's three-goal lead proved slightly too difficult to overcome.
90' + 3'
Dortmund are keen to run down the clock, with Hofmann even taking the ball up to the far corner. From a very comfortable position, Die Schwarzgelben have found themselves floundering somewhat near the end!
90' + 1'
There are three minutes of stoppage time! Werner is picked out at the back post, but Weidenfeller is forced to palm the German's effort over the crossbar and behind for a corner! The set piece is whipped in, but Subotic is fouled.
Assist Abdul Rahman Baba
Goal Tim Matavz
GOOOOOOAL! MATAVZ MAKES IT 3-2! The referee says no penalty! Mkhitaryan drives in behind the Augsburg lines, despite the Armenia international looking to be fouled by Klavan! Augsburg then break down the left themselves, with the Slovenian international heading home a Baba cross!
Only two minutes of normal time remain, with Augsburg the ones applying the pressure. Dortmund continue to threaten to break out at pace and transition very vertically, but the hosts have to push for a goal regardless.
Hofmann makes his way onto the field in place of Reus for Dortmund, with Klopp trying to freshen things up in the dying stages. After being called up for Germany's U21 side, the 22-year-old will be hoping to impress.
Kohr fires over! The substitute tries his luck on the volley audaciously, but can't keep the ball down! That was quite some hit, but he needed to get his technique just right to pull that off!
Just over five minutes remain, but the hosts are full of belief now! Kehl fouls Altintop, giving the home side a chance to shoot from a 25-yard dead ball situation, but Werner curls wide of the target!
Assist Abdul Rahman Baba
Goal Raul Bobadilla
GOOOOOAL! BOBADILLA POKES HOME! The substitute manages to lift a deft finish over the advancing Weidenfeller, following a brilliant cross to the back post from Baba! Augsburg have a ray of hope.
Reus fires wide! A huge pocket of space opens up for the former Gladbach man in the centre of the park, but he can't work Hitz! He lets fly with his right foot, but the ball is always swerving wide. Caiuby finally comes into the game.
Ten minutes remain for Augsburg to get back into this game, but Ramos' goal might just have knocked the stuffing out of the hosts. Caiuby was about to come into the fray for Weinzierl's men before the free-kick, but the coach may just have changed his mind.
Goal A. Ramos
GOOOOOAL! ADRIAN RAMOS MAKES IT THREE! Dortmund win a free-kick, which is around 25 yards out from goal. Reus lines it up, but the Germany international sees the ball deflect off the top of the wall and loop out of play for a corner. The set piece is delivered, Mkhitaryan shoots but is denied by Hitz, before the substitute can stab home!
Aubameyang is denied again! Reus sets his teammate through on goal yet again, with the Dortmund forward able to break into the penalty area. He tries to place a finish across Hitz, but the Augsburg goalkeepers gets enough behind the shot to keep the Gabon international at bay!
Bobadilla takes the resulting free-kick, but fails to hit the target! He gets plenty of swerve and dip on the ball, but Weidenfeller was confident enough to allow the Argentine's effort to whistle wide of the near post.
Yellow Card Sven Bender
Bender's first real contribution of the game is to commit a terrible challenge on Altintop, who requires lengthy treatment for a knock to his ankle - earning the Dortmund man a yellow card. Meanwhile, Grosskreutz is replaced by Colombian forward Adrian Ramos.
Werner whips forward yet another free-kick from deep, but Sokratis is able to meet it and head away the danger. 20 minutes remain for the home side to work their way back into this one and they've certainly got the weaponry onfield to do some damage.
Yellow Card Neven Subotic
Tim Matavz now replaces Feulner, with Augsburg clearly going for goals now. Two strikers have been introduced for the hosts, with Djurdic already deployed offensively. The Slovenia international has previously shown his goalscoring prowess in the Eredivisie.
Augsburg are starting to look more threatening, with the home crowd getting behind their players. Bobadilla is already seeing more of the ball than Parker did throughout! Baier makes an important clearance from inside his own box.
Big chance for Grosskreutz! Piszczek breaks down the right, before hammering a ball across the penalty area, but neither Aubameyang, nor the Germany international can make goalscoring contact! That so easily could have been the three points wrapped up!
Two shots are blocked in quick succession by Dortmund, with Bobadilla and Callsen-Bracker denied. Dortmund aren't pushing upfield as readily, nor dominating like they did in the first half, but Mkhitaryan and Reus remain extremely dangerous on the break.
Bobadilla is stripped off and ready to be introduced on the sidelines, with the Argentine certainly having the physical presence required to announce his arrival in tonight's game. Klavan deflects a Piszczek cross behind for another Dortmund corner.
Altintop turns well at the edge of the penalty area, stumbling through one challenge, before Sokratis is able to get hold of the loose ball and clear. Augsburg have several substitutes warming up on the sideline.
Offside for Aubameyang! Mkhitaryan and Jojic exchange possession well, before the Serbia international clips a cross towards the back post. The Gabon international tries to head home, but the linesman's flag is raised on the near side.
Callsen-Bracker heads wide at the back post, but the central defender was offside anyhow! Werner looked towards his compatriot, but can't quite steer the ball onto his forehead. Augsburg have definitely stepped up their game since the interval.
Yellow Card Miloš Jojić
Aubameyang flicks over! Reus releases Grosskreutz down the left flank, before the Germany international centres a cross! Aubameyang manages to stick out a boot in front of Klavan, diverting the ball goalwards, but it narrowly zips over the crossbar with Hitz rooted to the spot!
Baba breaks down the left, before finding the feet of Altintop! The Turkish midfielder cuts inside and gets the ball onto his favoured right foot, but sends yet another long-range strike heading into the stands! Augsburg have started in encouraging fashion.
Feulner fires over! Parker sets a pass inside to his fellow summer signing, but the former Dortmund man gets his angles all wrong! Weidenfeller is happy to cover his angles and allow the shot to sail high and wide!
Durm goes close! Grosskreutz breaks into the box, before trying to cut back onto his right foot - but Baier manages to half-clear. The Dortmund left-back picks up the pieces, opting to shoot from 30 yards, but Hitz is able to get across comfortably and catch!
No changes at the break, but it's pragmatic to assume that Weinzierl has had plenty to say during the last quarter of an hour. The hosts attempt to surge forward from the start, but Dortmund are often most dangerous when permitted to counter from deep areas.
We are underway in the second half! Much needs to be done for Augsburg to turn this one around, with the home supporters airing their grievances with a few jeers at the close of the first 45 minutes.
Hitz has been forced into a couple of good saves, with Weidenfeller very rather called upon in the opposite penalty area. The home side need to improve, and quickly, if they are to get anything from this game. Be sure to rejoin us in ten minutes for all of the second half action!
HALF TIME! Dortmund lead 2-0 away from home at the interval, with hosts Augsburg struggling to get into any kind of rhythm. Goals from Reus and Sokratis have put Klopp's men in a commanding position, but Die Schwarzgelben remain the team on the front foot.
45' + 1'
After patient build-up play, Mkhitaryan manages to carve out half a yard of space for himself at the edge of the box. He fires at goal, but drags well wide of the left-hand upright.
Dortmund try to break forward at pace again, but Grosskreutz's attempt first touch is terrible. Despite their two-goal lead, Die Schwarzgelben are looking the most likely to find the game's third goal. There will be one minute of stoppage time.
Yellow Card Tobias Werner
Yellow Card Paul Verhaegh
Werner is penalised for a poor tackle on Durm, with the midfielder picking up a justified yellow card. Captain Verhaegh, however, goes ballistic at the match official, earning himself a caution in the process! So much for respect.
Altintop is fouled by Subotic, with the Serbian centre-back and Feulner committing the majority of the early fouls! Less than five minutes remain, with Augsburg needing to grab a goal back. The resulting free-kick is easily collected by Weidenfeller.
Great save from Hitz! The free-kick is taken quickly, picking out Aubameyang, but the former St Etienne striker pivots sharply and shoots without warning! The Augsburg goalkeeper spreads himself well to get a strong right arm to the powerful effort!
Feulner is penalised for a tug on Kehl, though the experienced Dortmund captain appears to have taken a knock on his ankle in the process. He hobbles off the field, but is trying to put his weight on it in order to continue.
Huge chance for Djurdic! Dortmund break upfield at pace, as Mkhitaryan sets up Grosskreutz with a backheel, but the utility man's shot is blocked easily. The Serbian is fed through on goal brilliantly by Altintop, but can only stroke the ball beyond Weidenfeller but also the far post!
Klavan is forced to head wide of his own net! The Estonian was under pressure, with two Dortmund players breathing down his neck in the penalty area. Reus whips in the corner, but Sokratis is unable to get enough contact to guide the ball goalwards!
Aubameyang forces Hitz into a save! Reus slides the ball wide to the Gabon international, who needs no invitation to shoot! He cannons a close-range effort towards the near post, but the goalkeeper palms it around the upright for a corner.
Kehl plays a good diagonal ball into Aubameyang, who controls well. The Gabon international feeds a pass inside, before it's set back to the supporting Durm. The left-back whips in an early cross, but it's far too close to Hitz.
Aubameyang races down the flank, before picking out Mkhitaryan on the edge of the box! The Armenian midfielder strikes it on the volley, but it's directly at Hitz, who collects at the second attempt.
Dortmund's pressing is rendering Augsburg ineffectual at the moment, with Djurdic unable to find anything in the way of space. The visitors aren't pressing quite as high as normal, but are still blocking passing lanes well.
Excellent challenge from Piszczek! The right-backs covers across well, sliding in to ensure that neither Djurdic nor Werner can shoot from the edge of the box! He catches the ball with his trailing leg.
Djurdic is put in behind by Augsburg, but the Serbian forward is a country mile offside. Dortmund continue to see slightly more of the ball, with Jojic able to drive through the heart of the hosts' defence. He looks to cut inside Baba, but his second touch is too heavy and Hitz is able to clear up the scraps.
Dortmund win another free-kick, with Reus standing over it. Sokratis asks for the delivery, but it's too heavy and Hitz is easily able to come off his line and claim without a challenge.
Grosskreutz slips! Baier is robbed of the ball, before the Germany international is set on his way! He finds Reus, who stabs another pass in behind for his teammate to chase, but Grosskreutz falls to the turf as he looked to pull the trigger from the edge of the area!
Good recovery from Piszczek! Werner looks to break away in behind the Dortmund lines, but the Polish right-back does just enough to hold up the Augsburg man. Subotic is able to support his teammate, robbing it from Werner's boot as he looked to step inside.
Dortmund are looking fairly solid, with Weidenfeller thus far untroubled in the visiting net. Klopp is still out in his technical area, but will be incredibly encouraged by how his side have started this one. No signs of a lacklustre beginning to the game like against Leverkusen.
The away fans are jubilant, with this game going exactly to plan. Dortmund are breaking out at pace, with the likes of Reus and Mkhitaryan already having a big influence on the game. Augsburg need to find a foothold, before this match goes beyond them.
Assist Marco Reus
Goal Sokratis Papastathopoulos
GOOOOOAL! SOKRATIS SCORES THE SECOND! Brilliant work from Mkhitaryan! The Armenia international drives at the heart of the Augsburg defence, before flicking the ball wide to Piszczek! The right-back shoots, but Hitz turns it behind for a corner. It's whipped in by Reus, with Sokratis nodding home!
Despite the opening ten minutes being rather cagey, the game should be wide open now. Augsburg wanted a clean sheet, but won't be leaving with one already - but there's plenty of opportunity to claw themselves back level.
Assist Kevin Großkreutz
Goal Marco Reus
GOOOOOOOOAL! WHAT A GOAL FROM REUS! The Germany international starts from deep, before weaving his way to the edge of the box, exchanging a one-two with Grosskreutz and applying a good finish! Dortmund lead 1-0!
Big chance for Aubameyang! Jojic picks out Piszczek overlapping on the right flank once again, before the Polish right-back whips in a teasing cross! It zips off the turf, with the former St Etienne forward unable to get the required toe on the ball to turn it home!
Sokratis tries to look for Piszczek overlapping on the right-hand side, but the Poland international is unable to catch up with the ball. Dortmund win possession back from the resulting goal-kick and Mkhitaryan shoots from range, but his effort is deflected behind for a corner. Reus whips it in, but Hitz claims brilliantly.
Subotic gives away a free-kick 25 yards from goal, which Feulner quickly claims. The midfielder tries his luck, but sends the ball rocketing into the stands with Weidenfeller happy to watch it over his crossbar.
Augsburg manages to create half a chance, with a cross into the box bobbling all the way through to Parker on the right byline. The summer signing cuts back a cross, but Subotic slides in well to divert the dangerous ball out of the penalty area.
Aubameyang leads the line alone, with the Gabon international hoping to recreate his past form against tonight's opposition. The hosts are happy to hold possession and stroke it around the back four, with Dortmund not pressing as high as we may be accustomed to seeing.
We are underway in the first half! Both sides are currently propping up the bottom of the embryonic Bundesliga table, but will be hoping to move away from the relegation zone sooner rather than later. Augsburg are in red and white, with Dortmund in their famous yellow and black.
The two sides have just come out onto the turf, spelling out that kick-off is imminent! The atmosphere should be good for this one, with both sets of supporters knowing how important it is for their respective sides to earn their first points of the season.
With only a quarter of an hour until kick-off, be sure to stick around for all of the action, as Dortmund attempt to find their feet in the Bundesliga. A very unconvincing performance from Die Schwarzgelben against Leverkusen contrasted starkly with their domination of Bayern in the Super Cup, but Augsburg similarly struggled against Hoffenheim.
Dortmund substitutes: Langerak, Bender, Hofmann, Immobile, Ramos, Ginter, Narey.
Dortmund starting line-up: Weidenfeller; Piszczek, Subotic, Sokratis, Durm; Kehl, Jojic; Grosskreutz, Reus, Mkhitaryan; Aubameyang.
Augsburg bench: Manninger, De Jong, Hong, Kohr, Matavz, Bobadilla, Caiuby.
Augsburg starting line-up: Hitz; Verhaegh, Callsen-Bracker, Klavan, Baba; Parker, Altintop, Baier, Feulner, Werner; Djurdic.
TEAM NEWS: Roman Weidenfeller is back fit to displace Mitchell Langerak in goal for the visitors, while Nevan Subotic is deployed in central defence in place of Matthias Ginter. Ciro Immobile is dropped, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang leading the line, as Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Kevin Grosskreutz providing the width. Adrian Ramos shakes off a knock to make the bench, but Marcel Schmelzer and Mats Hummels are still unavailable.
TEAM NEWS: The hosts are still missing Alexander Esswein and Moravek through injury, but otherwise Markus Weinzierl has plenty of options at his disposal. Summer signing 21-year-old Shawn Parker gets another start, while Nikola Djurdic retains his place in attack. Slovenia international Tim Matavz is again forced to try and make a goalscoring impact from the bench.
I'm Simon Harrison and I will be keeping you up to date with proceedings in tonight's sole Bundesliga fixture, as both outfits attempt to rectify a poor start. Jurgen Klopp's men are slowly returning to full strength following plenty of lengthy injury lay-offs, while the hosts will try to find the form which guided them into a comfortable top half finish last term.
Hello and welcome to live coverage of Augsburg versus Borussia Dortmund, as the Bundesliga's two worst starters clash horns at the SGL Arena. Both teams suffered 2-0 defeats on the opening day, meaning that tonight's game constitutes some form of redemption - especially for the visitors, of whom much is expected.
