Thank you very much for joining us today for what was a brilliant game. My name is Tom Webber and it has been an absolute pleasure, as always, to guide you through this afternoon's Bundesliga action. Have a great evening.
FULL TIME - Augsburg 0-4 Dortmund: An Aubameyang hat-trick and a penalty from Lewandowski gifts Klopp's men three points in their opening game. It may have been a bit flattering, but it puts BVB above Bayern and into second position, behind only Hertha Berlin.
The final whistle is sounded with no additional time!
Well that result has got to be a bit flattering for Dortmund, but they have been clinical inside the area today. The hosts, meanwhile, have been the complete opposite.
Penalty GoalRobert Lewandowski
GOOOOAL!! Lewandowski opens his account for the season with a cool finish from the penalty spot, powering his effort past Amsif who guessed the right way.
Penalty to Dortmund! Vogt gives the ball away and Hofmann picks it up. He races into the area and jinks past Callsen-Bracker, who brings him to ground.
Yellow CardJan Moravek
A great reception from the enclave of Dortmund fans as Aubameyang departs the pitch. He could not have dreamed of a better debut!
Well, I think we got the answer to our question. Augsburg have been unable to stop the momentum of BVB after that second goal. They may not have been at their fluid best, but Dortmund have given their hosts a lessons in how to finish your chances.
That should be the fourth! Lewandowski, with what could well be his first attempt on target, can only must a tame effort that rolls straight into the arms of Amsif. Disappointing from the Poland striker.
GOOOOAALL!! Aubameyang hat-trick! He fully deserves that as he latches onto a brilliant through-ball from Lewandowski, rounds Amsif and slots the ball into an empty net. He looks worth the money doesn't he!
Reus whips in a corner from the left which is punched away by Amsif. The ball is looped back into the area but in his attempts to climb up and win the header he is adjudged to have fouled.
Excellent challenge from Bender! The midfielder tracks back and puts in a great tackle in on Verhaegh as he drifts in from the right and looks for space to shoot at goal.
As things stand this will put Dortmund into fourth position, but after one game that is practically irrelevant. However, that is one place behind Bayern Munich so they would probably like another goal!
It will be interesting to see how Augsburg respond to that second goal. Will they fall apart as BVB gain more momentum or will they try and shut up shop and look to score on the break?
What a Bundesliga debut for Aubameyang! His pace has caused problems all afternoon but it is his intelligent movement, running in from the right for the opener and then the left for the second, which has been most devastating.
GOOOAAL!! Aubameyang grabs his second! Reus has come to life in the last few moments and after picking up the ball in the middle of the park he slips a pass into the Gabonese as he runs in from the left. The BVB new boy opens his body up and nestles the ball in the far corner with a cool finish.
GOOD SAVE FROM AMSIF! Reus bends a free kick towards the top corner from an acute angle on the left flank, which looks to be heading inside the post. Amsif shuffles across his goal line and manages to get a hand to the ball and divert it over the top.
HE SHOULD DO BETTER! A free kick is whipped in by Holzhauser and it evades the head of Hummels. Molders is just behind him and gets his head on it but is unable to keep his attempt down and Langerak watches it sail over. You have got to hit the target with chances like that.
Holzhauser does well to beat Grosskreutz on the wing but Subotic comes across and wins the ball. Augsburg really need to probe down that flank some more.
Finally Reus springs the offside trap and races in down the right side. He looks to drill the ball over to Lewandowski who waits in the area but a white shirt intercepts and clears away the danger.
VITAL INTERCEPTION! Altintop puts a teasing cross in from the right and Molders looks to get on the end of it at the near post. Subotic tracks his run though and slides in to get an important toe to it first.
Dortmund are going to need to try a different approach here as they do not look like scoring any time soon. Lewandowski has had nothing to work with and Reus has been extremely quiet all afternoon.
Altintop does well as he dribbles the ball in from the left. He rolls a pass across the top of the box for Moravek who in turn lays it off to Baier. The midfielder cuts across the ball and his attempts swerves well off target without testing Langerak.
Gundogan is playing far too deep here. He is supposed to be playing off of Lewandowski but there is a huge gap between the pair. It means that the Polish striker is not receiving enough of the ball to worry the Augsburg defence.
Yellow CardMatthias Ostrzolek
GOOD SAVE FROM AMSIF! Moments after Holzhauser's pass up to Molders is intercepted BVB counterattack. The ball is moved out to Aubameyang on the right and as he strides into the area he looks to sneak a shot inside Amsif's near post. The keeper is positioned well, though, and gets his body in the way of the attempt.
Sahin, who has sat very deep so far today, moves into the final third and receives the ball in space from Aubameyang. He opens his body up and looks to curl one just inside Amsif's post but it lacks the power to beat the keeper.
The hosts take their time about it but Holzhauser's delivery only finds a yellow shirt inside the area. Disappointing from Augsburg.
Molders is dragged to ground just off the corner of the box by Subotic and wins a free kick. As he gets up he encourages the crowd to get behind their team. He'd love to get on the end of this one now!
Here we go, the second 45 minutes have begun!
Welcome back! The teams are making their way back out onto the pitch and the second half will behind shortly.
HALF TIME: Augsburg 0-1 Dortmund - The hosts have given this game a really good go but it is Aubameyang's goal which sends BVB into the break ahead. This game remains in the balance so be sure to join me in 15 minutes for the second half!
45' + 1'
The half-time whistle goes.
A wasted chance from Moravek! He has time to pick his spot from Molders knock down on the edge of the box but he slices it into the hoardings.
BRILLIANT STOP!! The game has really come to life in the closing stages of the first half. Holzhauser plumps for goal from in excess of 30 yards with a swerving, dipping, left-footed effort. Langerak has to fling himself across goal and parry the ball aside for a corner.
OFF THE LINE!! Holzhauser gets his head on a corner from the right and diverts it towards the centre of the goal. Bender is back covering the keeper who has vacated his goal and manages to get up and nod the ball behind.
GOOD SAVE!! Aubameyang threads a great pass into Reus as he runs the channel into the area. He is unable to take the ball around the keeper and is forced to turn around and play the ball back to Bender, who sees his shot blocked by Amsif.
After that goal Augsburg look to have finally recovered their composure. However, despite their pressing and defensive organisation they are lacking a threat up front that is capable of testing this BVB back line.
Reus stands over a free kick just outside the centre circle and clips a long ball into the area. He is aiming for Lewandowski but he overhits it and Amsif is able to catch it comfortably.
Ostrzolek sends a cross in from the left finally but it is far too deep and runs out of play. Hahn follows up shortly after by delivering the ball from the opposing flank where Holzhauser fails to hit the target with a back-post header.
I am surprised that Augsburg have not tried to get at Grosskreutz down the Dortmund right this afternoon. Out of position, he is clearly the visitors' weakes spot but so far he has been largely untested.
Hahn is remaining lively for the hosts down the right flank and is certainly their most dangerous player. Verhaegh's cross into the box reaches Molders but the striker is unable to fashion a shooting chance.
This is better from BVB. They are starting to knock the ball about higher up the pitch, rather than allowing Augsburg to pen them back inside their own half. The hosts, meanwhile have resorted to playing the long ball which Hummels and Subotic are dealing with capably.
Reus and Lewandowski are both dropping very deep to try and get involved with the game. The latter tries to slip a pass into Schmelzer down the left but the full-back is adjudged to have been offside when the ball was played.
Gundogan looks to make it two in quick succession with an acrobatic effort at the back post, but he fails to keep it down and sends the ball high into the stands.
SUPER GOAL!! Aubameyang finds the net on his first Bundesliga appearance! Gundogan spreads the ball to the left and Schmelzer clips a brilliant diagonal cross towards the back post. Aubameyang gets himself across Ostrzolek and stoops to head home the opening goal!
Grosskreutz moves forward for the first time this afternoon but his pass up to Aubameyang is poorly-weighted. Ostrzolek manages to shield the BVB man frmo getting on the end of it and shepherds it all the way out for a goal kick.
We have not seen an awful lot of Lewandowski so far and that is to Augsburg's credit. However, it will only take one opportunity for the Poland international to potentially find the back of the net so they must continue their good work.
Klopp will want his side to stop conceding the ball so cheaply inside their own half. This time it is Molders who wins it off of Hummels, but Schmelzer covers his team-mates and makes a well-judged tackle to win back possession on the edge of the box.
Unsure goalkeeping from Amsif there as he is beaten to a corner by Hummels. The Dortmund defender's header loops up but Lewandowski cannot divert it on target before Subotic's poor effort is sliced away from the target.
Molders looks like he is going to be in for a tough afternoon. Up front on his own against Hummels and Subotic, the striker is not having much luck so far and is losing all the 50-50s.
That is poor from Grosskreutz! He fails to control a routine pass from Hummels and once more the BVB attack breaks down. The hosts can be pelased with their start.
Reus looks to stretch his legs for the first time this afternoon but he is tracked by Moravek and, with a little help from Verhaegh, they dispossess the Germany international. Augsburg forming a compact unit so far.
Weinzierl's men are pressing very high when Dortmund have possession, refusing to let them control possession in the final third. Having won the ball back in the BVB half, Hahn sends a cross into the box but Subotic reads it and nods away the danger.
That was sloppy from Subotic! The centre-back is almost caught in possession on the edge of his own box, but fortunately for him Langerak is quick to mop up and ensure his blushes are spared.
Augsburg have never beaten Dortmund in the top flight. This fixture last season ended with Dortmund taking all the points in a 3-1 win. However, the hosts have triumphed in their last three home games in the Bundesliga.
It is clear even from the opening six minutes that BVB are going to be vulnerable down the flanks. Bender is forced to come across and cover as Augsburg break and Grosskreutz is caught out of position.
That is a let off for Dortmund! The ball is switched out to left by the hosts and Grosskreutz's attempt at clearing falls to Altintop 20 yards from goal. The new smashes a first-time volley at goal but his effort is wild and goes well over the bar.
A great counterattack from Augsburg enables them to play Hahn in on their right flank. Schmelzer cannot get across to close him before the wide man shoots but his powerful effort is palmed aside by Langerak, who had his angles covered.
Early chance for Dortmund as Grosskreutz's long ball squirms through to Aubameyang on the right flank. He cuts the ball back onto the penalty spot, looking for Lewandowski, but Callsen-Bracker intercepts and clears it behind for a corner.
We are off! Augsburg versus Dortmund is under way.
The teams are out on the pitch at the SGL Arena now so kick off is just a few short moments away! Lets hope for a cracker.
It will be interesting to see how a couple of Klopp's selections will do today. Grosskreutz is out of position to cover at right-back and Gundogan is given a more advanced role following the departure of Mario Gotze. The coach will hope they prove themselves capable as he does not have many options on the bench.
Markus Weinzierl also has goalkeeping issues today. Mohamed Amsif starts between the sticks for Augsburg in place of the injured Alex Manninger. Andreas Ottl, Aristide Bance and Marcel de Jong are also sidelined, while Halil Altintop gets his first appearance since joining from Trabzonspor this summer.
Jurgen Klopp is without usual starters Roman Weidenfeller and Lukasz Piszczek today. The keeper is suspended following his dismissal in the final game of last season, which ended in a 2-1 defeat to Hoffenheim, while his Poland international team-mate is not expected to return until next year following surgery. Henrik Mkhitaryan is also too short of fitness to make his debut.
Dortmund bench: Bonmann, Sokratis, Blaszczykowski, Kehl, Hofmann, Durm, Ducksch.
Dortmund (4-2-3-1): Langerak; Grosskreutz, Subotic, Hummels, Schmelzer; Bender, Sahin; Reus, Gundgoan, Aubameyang; Lewandowski.
Augsburg bench: Hitz, Reinhardt, Philp, Werner, Fetsch, Vogt, Vlachodimos.
Augsburg (4-5-1): Amsif; Verhaegh, Callsen-Bracker, Klavan, Ostrzolek; Hahn, Moravek, Baier, Altintop, Holzhauser; Molders.
My name is Tom Webber and I am going to be guiding you through today's action. So, without further delay, here is how the teams line-up...
