Real Madrid win Aggregate 4 - 1
The final whistle brings this Copa del rey clash to an end. Real Madrid cruise through to the semi finals after winning 4-1 on aggregate against their neighbours Atletico Madrid , who never turned up for this derby match. Thank you for joining us o Goal.com !
Yellow Card Raúl Albiol
Yellow Card Fernando Gago
Yellow Card Diego Costa
Real Madrid are easily seeing the game out. It really has been like a training match for Los Blancos.
A lack of ambition from the home side has resulted in a distinct lack of goalscoring chances. More passion should have been shown against their bitter rivals.
Another bad mistake from the assistant referee as Marcelo is wrongly given as offside as he goes through on goal.
Despite a bright start to the half from Atletico , they never looked like scoring the three goals necessary to equal the scoreline. They have looked bereft of ideas for most of the game.
The German international has left the field due to injury and has been replaced by Fernando Gago.
Juanfran is very lucky not be receiving his second yellow card after stamping on the foot of Sami Khedira with the German going over on his ankle.
Diego Costa breaks the Real Madrid offside trap to head through on goal but attempts a pass across the goal to Diego Forlan that is cut out by the Real defence. Better play from Atletico.
Kaka has been introduced to the action for a run out.
Yellow Card Sergio Ramos
Atletico players are showing signs of obvious frustration by petulantly kicking out at some of the Real players.
Yellow Card Juanfran
This has been a very professional performance from Real Madrid. They have never really looked like conceding and Atletico do not look likely to score three goals to take the tie to extra time.
Ángel Di María
Di Maria leaves the pitch to make way for Esteban Granero. Jose Mourinho clearly wanting Real to retain more possession and look to shut up shop.
Unlucky from Diego Costa as he attacks a cut back cross from Fran Merida, just putting the ball over the bar after being put under pressure by the Real defence.
Assuncao attempts a shot from outside the box that Iker Casillas comfortable sees wide.
The Atletico players are starting to get into better positions in the final third but their final ball is lacking conviction. Iker Casillas has easily caught a few badly executed crosses from the flanks.
Diego Costa is again flagged for offside when he has been in an onside position. This is causing some frustration for the Atletico players.
Yellow Card C. Ronaldo
Freekick for Ronaldo from considerable distance but the Portuguese uncharacteristically chips the ball into the area and the danger is cleared by Atletico.
The home side are playing with the intensity that they should have showed in the first half.
Atletico have injected some pace into their play now and for the first time in the game the Real Madrid defence are under some pressure.
Great chance for Atletico , a swift counter attack from Forlan , sweeping the ball to the back post for Merida , but the midfielder could not get the ball from under his feet and could only manage a tame shot that was easily saved by casillas.
Diego Costa has looked fairly bright since his introduction. He seems to have the power and pace over Arbeloa.
Atletico have made the better start to the second half but they need to convert their possession in to clear cut chances.
The second half has now kicked off , Atletico will need to push forward for a goal but the task ahead of them is gigantic.
Join us in 15 minutes for the second half !
The referee has called time on the first half of play. Atletico have been very disappointing and lack the intensity that they showed in the first leg. Real Madrid will be delighted with the overall scoreline.
Yellow Card Marcelo
Chance for Di Maria in the box as Cristiano Ronaldo flamboyantly back heels the ball by the Atletico defence but as the Argentinian trys to come back on to his right foot, Valera manages to get a foot in and De Gea cleans up the danger.
Assuncao and Tiago need to start supporting the strikers of Atletico. They are sitting too deep and Forlan and Costa are lacking in quality service.
Diego Forlan is isolated for Atletico at the moment, he is currently being well marshalled by the Real Madrid defence.
Real are stroking the ball about the park expertly at the moment with no real pressure coming from the midfield of Atletico who are sitting very deep.
The tempo of the game at the moment suits Real Madrid alot. The away side are slowing down the play and Jose Mourinho would be very happy to see the game out at this pace.
Yellow Card Tiago
Diego Costa so very close to being through on goal for Atletico but is wrongly flagged as offside by the assistant referee. That is the second time in the game that Atletico have been unfairly given as offside when in a goalscoring position.
Atletico look very downheartened after the Real Madrid goal. They must start to press Xabi Alonso and Khedira more and add more flluency in their play.
Great play from Diego Costa down the right hand side for Atletico , showing a great burst of power and pace to smash in a brilliant pass across the goal of Real but no Atletico players managed to get on the end of it !
Atletico Madrid have now changed to a 4-4-2 formation after an injury to Jose Antonio Reyes. Diego Costa will now partner Forlan up front for the home side.
The goal by Ronaldo was the first meaningful chance for either side so far in the game. Once again the questionable back line of Atletico lets them down with some poor defending.
Goal C. Ronaldo
Atletico now have a mountain to climb if they are going to get anything out of this game. We will no doubt see more goals as Atletico try and equalise and Real Madrid try to pick off their neighbours on the counter attack.
Yellow Card Arbeloa
Cristiano Ronaldo scores for Real Madrid ! Sergio Ramos sends a very tame cross in to the Atletico box which Ronaldo latches on to and smashes the ball in to the top left hand corner from eight yards !
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL for Real Madrid !
Very good defending from Ricardo Carvalho , heading away a cross from just off the head of Diego Forlan. Assuncao wastes possession by attempting a chip over the Real defence that does not come off.
Both teams are guilty of being scrappy with their final passes so far in the game. Surprisingly both teams are being weary of sending men forward.
The game is mostly being played in the centre circle area at the moment , neither Diego Forlan or Cristiano Ronaldo have managed to get in to the game as of yet.
Good pressure from Reyes as he closes down Iker Casillas and forces a mistake from the Real Madrid goalkeeper , but the away side manage to scramble the ball away from danger.
Real Madrid have took a foothold on the game , they are enjoying possession in the Atletico half.
The start to the game lacks the tempo that the first period of the first leg had. Atletico need to add more intensity and pace into their passing and movement if they are to create some chances.
Atletico have a tough task on their hands, they must score at least two goals to progress , but the pace at which Real Madrid counter attack will always be on their minds. Promises to be an interesting encounter.
Good play from Reyes down the right wing , showing good pace and strength. Spaniard is brought down for a freekick but the resulting set-piece was wasted by Atletico.
Decent start to the game for Atletico , they will be hoping to start this game the way they started the first leg by grabbing an early goal.
The game has now kicked off , Atletico arguably must get the first goal in the game if they have any chance of progressing to the semi finals to face Sevilla.
Here is the first eleven of Real Madrid: Casillas, Sergio Ramos, Albiol, Carvalho, Arbeloa, Xabi Alonso, Khedira, Di Maria, Ozil, Marcelo, Ronaldo.
This is the starting line up of Atletico Madrid: De Gea, Valera, Ujfalusi, Perea, Filipe, Assunção, Tiago, Elias, Reyes, Merida, Forlan.
Real Madrid lead Atletico Madrid 3-1 from the first leg at the Bernabeu.
