Made a fantastic reflex save in the first half to deny Emre, and distributed the ball well to stem attacks for his side. Put in a great performance and deservedly picked up a clean sheet for his efforts.
Had a solid and composed game, Atletico struggled to make any real headway down either flank, and Aurtenetxe was a key factor in this difficulty for his opponents.
Composed at the back, putting in some important challenges in and around his area. Diego Costa failed to turn his marker very often, as the Frenchman had a very strong and solid game.
Took his goal well, and despite being deployed in a slightly unfamiliar position he helped to plug gaps and prevent Atletico's central midfield pair from getting a foothold in the match.
Suffered what looked like a painful injury after being caught by Rodriguez, but enjoyed a solid game before his forced substitution. Justified why he has become a mainstay of late.
Always willing to bomb forward, and probably spent more time creeping into the opposition half then staying in his own. Wasn't tested too much by Rodriguez.
Lively in the opening stages, getting his team firing on all cylinders, and was an outlet in any position. Deserved his goal, which he finished with aplomb, and appeared all over the pitch.
Always a willing runner, and was unfortunate not to get on the scoresheet in the first half, thanks to a great Courtois save. Took his goal very well, and against anybody but Courtois, on another day he might have had a hat-trick.
Composed and creative in the centre of midfield, had a few long-range efforts which on another day, might have crept into the top corner. Pulled the strings throughout and played a fantastic ball for Susaeta's goal.
Always an aerial option, and did well in the air against Godin. Was a constant annoyance for his markers, and while he didn't get on the scoresheet, he was constantly a nuisance.
Showed flashes of brilliance but was generally lacking at important moments, which has been testament to his entire season. Was brighter than he has previously been this season, but he's still not back to his best.
Made a phenomenal save in the first half to deny Susaeta and was unfortunate to concede three goals. Without him between the posts, Atletico could easily have lost by a five goal margin.
Was unfortunate not to get on the scoresheet with a couple of testing, goalbound efforts which were deflected wide of the post. Effective on the overlap.
Struggled to deal with the pace of Muniain at times, but generally used his experience to good effect. Failed to contribute going forward whatsoever throughout the entire game.
Struggled to deal with Aduriz aerially, but generally limited Bilbao's danger man to playing with his back to goal. Was fortunate to escape bookings for catchings a few Bilbao players with his flailing arms.
Didn't have the best of games, as he was caught out several times by the movement of Aduriz, none moreso than for Susaeta's goal.
Struggled to deal with the fluidity of the Bilbao midfield in the first half and never really got on top of the vibrant, young midfielders of the opposition.
Made a horrific challenge on Ekiza of Bilbao, and was rightfully substituted after failing to really get into the game, except for a couple of marauding runs.
Performed well and looked creative in flashes, but didn't possess a cutting edge. Had several notable efforts on goal, but never truly tested Iraizoz at any point.
Made some bad decisions in the first half, choosing to shoot on several occasions where it would have been beneficial to pass.
Denied a goal by a fantastic Iraizoz save, and pressing forward whenever possible. His corner deliveries were also testing for the Bilbao defence.
Always an outlet and willing workhorse for the visitors and was unfortunate not to receive great service or support for all of his effort. Couldn't fault his effort whatsoever.
