Thank you for tuning in to Goal.com's LIVE coverage of Bilbao's 3-0 win over Atletico Madrid, I've been Simon Harrison and I'll see you all again next time!
Bielsa has managed to stop the rot at San Mames, getting his side their first win in five games, and their fans will hope that this could kick-start their season, which has thus far been disappointing.
Goals from San Jose, Susaeta and De Marcos were enough for the hosts, who generally dominated the game and made second-placed Atletico look average. Perhaps this will raise the question of whether Simeone's men are growing dependent on star man Falcao?
That's it, full time! Bilbao run out as 3-0 winners, denting Atletico hopes of staying ahead of Real Madrid in the process.
90' + 2'
Bilbao look to close out the game by holding onto possession for as long as they physically can.
Courtois saves again low down to his right. He's playing fantastically, yet he finds himself having conceded three goals tonight.
Atletico really would like the final whistle to be brought forward, but Bilbao still remain motivated, and look as though they want a fourth!
GREAT SAVE! Courtois saves from his nemesis Susaeta, after a great cross found him unmarked at the back post!
This really has been a nightmare for Atletico. They've been caught twice on the break, and although they've not deserved to win this game, Bilbao are flattered by the 3-0 scoreline.
Assist Aritz Aduriz Zubeldia
Goal Óscar De Marcos
GOOOAL! De Marcos nets to put this game beyond all doubt! A searching ball finds the youngster in space at the back post, and he makes no mistake, firing the ball emphatically past the helpless Courtois!
Diego Costa turns his man well, and wins a corner off Laporte. Bilbao manage to clear it, once again.
Ohh! Diaz almost scores with his head! That wasn't too far away, and he's certainly annoyed with himself for not converting that chance!
Assist Ander Herrera
GOOOOOOAL! Susaeta finally beats Courtois to give Bilbao a deserved and firm lead! Great finish, placing it past Courtois nicely, despite the Atletico keeper getting a deft touch on the ball.
Susaeta stings Courtois' palms with a strike from distance, and the Belgian palms it around the post for yet another corner. Nothing comes of it, however!
Aduriz is slid through on goal, and attempts a chip from a narrow angle, but Courtois is out early making himself as big as possible yet again. He really has been brilliant tonight.
Simeone's men are definitely not willing to settle for less than a point, and more players are being pushed forward in the hope of netting an equaliser. Bilbao hold firm however, and are limiting the visitors to long range shots.
Tempers are definitely rising here. Herrera is caught late by Raul Garcia, but the Atletico midfielder isn't pleased with the youngster's reaction to the challenge.
Muniain has his first meaningful strike of the evening, but he gets hold of it too well, and blasts it high and wide.
Adrian exchanges passes with Diego Costa on the edge of Bilbao's penalty area, but the substitute miscontrols the return ball and fails to get a shot away.
Courtois stands up tall and beats away another De Marcos effort at his near post! The Belgian has been a colossus in between the Atletico posts tonight.
Ander Herrera looks in some pain, after being caught on the head by Aduriz' hip. That looked like it hurt!
Atletico Madrid are just coming back into the game now, and the introduction of Adrian in place of Emre has just changed their dynamics a bit. Things are looking positive for the visitors.
Great save from Iraizoz again! Raul Garcia fires a shot towards the goalkeeper's near post which seems destined to nestle in the back of the net, but he gets down well to push it round his post!
Muniain plays a ball down the line for De Marcos to chase, and the young utility man does get there, but play a poor cross into the box which Courtois collects with ease.
Bilbao put the ball out of play on the request of Bielsa allowing Ekiza, the victim of Rodriguez' terrible challenge, to get to the treatment room. Gurpegi replaces him.
Emre whips a corner to the back post, and his compatriot Turan manages to get a head on the ball. It's easy for Iraizoz to collect, at a comfortable height.
Raul Garcia tries a shot from an acute angle on the turn, but fires it into the stands. You can't blame him though, if you don't shoot, you can't score!
Yellow Card Emre Belözoğlu
Looking back, Rodriguez might be lucky to have received a yellow card, it really was a poor, poor challenge.
Yellow Card Ander Herrera
Yellow Card Aritz Aduriz Zubeldia
Yellow Card Diego Godín
Yellow Card Cristian Rodríguez
Cristian Rodriguez puts in a poor challenge on Ekiza. That's a terrible tackle, he's gone over the top of the ball and caught the fullback with his studs. Yellow card for Rodriguez, and tempers are rising!
Bilbao's dominance has now come to fruition and you can feel the tension in San Mames lifting slightly. Simeone's men will have to work hard to get back in the game now!
Goal San José
GOAL! San Jose nods the ball home to give Bilbao the lead from a corner! There will be a bitter taste in Courtois' mouth, as he made a fantastic save to give the corner away in the first place!
Diego Costa manages to beat his man down the right flank and whip a ball into the Bilbao area, but Iraizoz is quick off his line to catch the ball. Can't fault his performance so far!
The second half has started in the same vein as the first, as Atletico are yet to push out of their own half. Bilbao dominance continues.
And the game has restarted at Estadio San Mames! Let us hope that the second half can match the interesting first!
Definitely a tale of two goalkeepers so far! Really fantastic saves from both sides goalkeepers, but I think Courtois reflex save with his foot edges it for me, between the two!
That's it! The half time whistle goes. Bilbao have had the better of the first half, creating more chances, but Simeone's men have come back into the equation in the last ten minutes. Two great reflex saves from Courtois and Iraizoz were the best moments of an interesting first 45 minutes!
Great save Iraizoz! Diego Costa manages to square the ball to the penalty spot, allowing the onrushing Emre to smash an effort at goal! The Bilbao keeper pulls off a great reflex save to deny the Turkish international!
Oh dear, Muniain won't want to see that effort again! After mayhem in the Atletico penalty area, the ball loops towards the youngster who attempts to strike a volley on the turn. He gets it all wrong, very wrong indeed!
Filipe Luis fires in a long range speculative freekick, but it deflects off the Bilbao wall and skips through a crowd of bodies to the grateful Iraizoz.
Both sides really are cancelling each other out at the moment. Atletico look a little toothless, which isn't helped by the lack of Falcao, and Bilbao can't quite find that final ball.
Bilbao win a freekick in a useful position, but the ball falls to an Atletico foot. It's half cleared, and Susaeta fires a long-range effort at goal! It has Courtois sprawling, but it rolls considerably wide of the post.
Yellow Card Filipe Luis
Turna finds himself in plenty of space down the right, cuts inside and then fires a tame effort straight at Iraizoz. That was disappointing!
Emre whips in a delicious corner, which hits an unsuspecting Bilbao foot and rockets away from danger! That was a terrific delivery, but nobody attacked it!
Ooooh! Herrera gets a strike away at goal, it seems destined for Courtois' top right corner, but it whistles past the post! I think the Belgian might have had that covered if it was on target though!
This game has suddenly turned quite scrappy. Both teams are needlessly giving the ball away.
The tempo has noticeably dropped in the past ten minutes, Atletico are just being let back into this game. I would presume Bielsa won't be happy.. after such sustained pressure his side probably merited a goal.
Atletico are finding it difficult to break down this hardworking Bilbao side. If a home player loses the ball through his own incompetence, you can be sure that they'll race to try and win it straight back.
Diego Costa is being crowded out whenever he receives the ball, he's looking particularly isolated. It will be interesting to see if Bielsa's men can keep this sense of purpose and direction going for the remainder of the match.
Bilbao have been first to every ball and really are pressing in these opening stages. Atletico have the boot of Courtois to thank, otherwise the hosts tails might be even higher in the air!
FANTASTIC SAVE! Courtois sticks out a leg to deny Susaeta who hit a vicious half volley at goal at the back post. That truly was a great reflex stop!
Great build up play from Bilbao sees Muniain beat two men, then go down with the possible intention of wanting a penalty. That perhaps should have been a foul - but the first contact was outside the box.
Ooooh! Filipe Luis almost had his name on the scoresheet. The left-back's effort is deflected past the post by a last ditch block, and Bilbao manage to clear the corner with ease.
Raul Garcia tries a speculative effort from 30 yards, but it sails over the bar. Atletico need to hit Diego Costa, shooting from that range isn't troubling anyone.
Ooh! Aduriz goes close! Courtois looked relatively calm, but the former Valencia man really got hold of a left footed volley then! Definite warnings for the visitors!
Turan manages to win a corner for his side, playing the ball off Ekiza. Nothing comes from it though.
De Marcos fires another effort at goal, but it is deflected over the bar! Confusion ensues, where San Jose nearly manages to nod the hosts ahead! Unlucky!
Courtois is called into action for the first time, to collect a tame cross - that could have been dangerous if Aduriz had made every effort to get on the end of it.
Bilbao have definitely started brightest. Plenty of the hosts players are flooding into the Atletico half at every given opportunity - something which the likes of Iraola will relish.
Tiago intervenes to turn Iraola's cross away from De Marcos, great challenge! Iraizoz is quick off his line moments later at the other end, as the Bilbao keeper was almost playing into trouble by a weak backpass!
A high tempo start with plenty of unforced errors so far! Bilbao have carved out the better chances so far, but I sense some goals in this game!
A great ball in behind Iraola finds Filipe Luis at the byline, but the Brazilian fires a tame cross straight to Iraizoz!
Ooh, Rodriguez pumps the ball across the box, but fails to find a teammate, before Tiago attempts an outrageous volley from 10 yards out - he slices it backwards!
Oooh! De Marcos has the first chance of the match! Aduriz manages to flick Iraola's pass around the corner, but the youngster blazes over!
And we're underway!
No Radamel Falcao for the visitors today, as he sits out through injury. With one of Atletico's key men missing, Bielsa may hold hope that his side can stop the rot tonight.
Atletico Madrid starting line-up: Courtois, Juanfran, Godin, Diaz, Filipe Luis, Turan, Emre, Tiago, Rodriguez, Raul Garcia, Diego Costa.
Bilbao starting line-up: Iraizoz, Iraola, San Jose, Aurtenetxe, Ekiza, Laporte, Susaeta, Ander Herrera, Aduriz, Muniain, De Marcos.
I'm Simon Harrison and I will be keeping you well informed with all of the action at Estadio San Memes, where in-form Atletico face Bielsa's Bilbao who are winless in five games!
