Solid performance, though he had exceptionally little to do bar cutting out one cross in the first half. Made one good stop late on.
Benefited from the fact that West Brom only fielded a single striker, but was quick off the mark when needed and cleared the ball well. Went on a barnstorming run in the second half that almost led to a goal, and was appreciated by the fans.
A very impressive game for the right-back, who put in numerous crosses that caused panic in the Baggies' box. Caused real havoc down the right wing, and even outshone Theo Walcott in attack.
Was imperious in the air, and got on the score sheet for the first time in almost two years, though admittedly he has been injured for around half of that time. Should have doubled his tally for the season early in the second half. Made a great late block to deny Tchoyi.
A calm and assured performance from the Wales captain, played the ball well and got out of tight situations with ease. Almost added a goal to a neat display, but dragged his shot just wide.
The left-back's defensive abilities have been questioned in recent weeks, though he had barely any of that to do today. Attacked well and found team-mates with some neat passing.
Dominated the midfield, allowing Zoltan Gera no space at all. Was also decent with the ball, playing a key part in the second goal.
A disappointing performance from the winger considering the rest of his team were in such good form. He offered some decent running, but both his final ball and first touch weren't quite up to scratch and he was replaced late on.
A rather quiet performance from the attacker, but he did serve his purpose well, linking up to good effect with the midfield trio and getting into space well on the wing.
R. van Persie
Another goal for the Dutchman as well as an assist for Vermaelen and Arteta. He is in the form of his life at the moment, and produced another good display today.
Not a great afternoon for the keeper, though he couldn't do much about the goals. He stopped Walcott's shot well with his legs but could do nothing as Van Persie followed up with the rebound, and was helpless to stop the other two.
The right-back didn’t have much of a chance to attack, but defended solidly and kept Gervinho quiet for most of the game.
Defended well but couldn’t do too much about the first two goals. Slipped when tracking Van Persie for the third, but the game was all but over by then.
Was the Baggies’ best player on a day where they were dominated by Arsenal. Went off early for treatment on a facial injury, but recovered well and marshalled the defence.
Dealt well with Walcott, but was given the run-around by Jenkinson, and was turned inside-out at one point in the first half.
An anonymous performance from the midfielder as the Arsenal midfield controlled the ball with ease.
Screened well for much of the game, but lost Arteta in the build up to his goal. Had one attempt when he found himself in space outside the area, but dragged his shot well wide.
Missed one of the best chances for the visitors, volleying wildly over from the edge of the area, and his frustration was clear to see as he later berated a linesman.
Will have wanted a better performance against his former club, especially considering how dominant he was in last year’s match.
Wasn’t allowed any time on the ball by Alex Song, and defending isn’t the greatest part of the midfielder's game. Was replaced after an hour.
Put in a lot of effort and ran the hard yards when Arsenal had the ball. Couldn’t really hold the ball up though, and was replaced with 20 minutes remaining.
- 21 Ł. Fabiański
- 4 P. Mertesacker
- 20 J. Djourou
Looked dangerous and combined well with Andre Santos almost immediately after being introduced.
Came on when the game was virtually won and did well on the ball, finding Van Persie who laid the ball off for Arteta's goal.
Came on late when the game was won, but didn't get too much of the ball as Arsenal seemed set to play keep-ball rather than really stretch in the closing stages.
- 9 Chu-Young Park
- 13 M. Fülöp
- 25 C. Dawson
- 20 N. Shorey
Replaced Gera and immediately switched to the target man role.
Replaced Cox but to little effect as Arsenal extended their lead minutes after his introduction.
Came on with just under 10 minutes to go, but couldn’t get into the game.
