A. Arshavin 41'
Fulltime at the Emirates. Arsenal claim the win, but they were far from convincing here as Swansea were able to get at them many times. Swansea will be pleased with their performance, but would have claimed a draw if it wasn't for that horrendous mistake by Vorm.
90' + 3'
Gibbs goes close as he gets past the last defenders down the left and goes for goal, but his attempt is straight at Vorm.
90' + 2'
Golden chance for Swansea!! Corner from the left isn't cleared properly as Szczesny drops it, but Graham, on the swivel puts his shot overfrom 7 yards out.
90' + 1'
Sinclair really could have done better there. The winger attacked down the left, beating Sagna in the process, but he delayed his cross allowing the France international to get back.
Chance for Swansea, but Dobbie's right-footed attempt from the D of the penalty area goes just wide of the Arsenal right-post. Swansea are not giving up here.
Another goal here would settle the Arsenal nerves for the final few minutes, but Swansea sense they could get one more chance yet.
Great stop by Vorm! Gibbs marauded down the left-flank before putting in a great cross for Chamakh, but the Dutch international 'keeper makes the save down to his left.
Good play by Swansea there as Dyer and Rangel link-up well before finding Allen in behind the defence. Allen's low cross is good, but behind his teammates in the box.
Robin van Persie
Not even a half-chance for Swansea there as Allen tries his luck from long-range but the ball trickles into Szczesny's arms.
Yellow CardMikel Arteta
Both sides trading possession a lot here with neither side truly in control for the last 15 minutes or so.
Nearly a good link-up there for Swansea as Dyer almost manages to get on the end of a long-ball from the defence, but he can't quite get a flick on it and Szczesny claims it.
The pace and tenacity of the match has certainly slowed in the last ten minutes with both sides looking a lot less interested forcing players forward.
Yellow CardSteven Caulker
That should've been two for Arsenal there! Sagna played in a great cross from the right, but van Persie failed to gamble on it as no one gets a touch on it.
That's not something you see everyday, a player beat Mertesacker in the air. However, Danny Graham did just that, rising higher than the German from a Dyer cross, but his header goes over.
Rangel should've done better there! The full-back got the benefit of a ricochet and was able to march into the box from the right, but he delayed his cross too long and Frimpong came over to make the block.
Another chance for Arsenal as Frimpong and Ramsey link up well before the Welshman looked for Van Persie on the edge of the area, but his right-footed shot was poor, high and wide.
Arshavin goes for goal from range as he shoots from about 30 yards, but it flies just over.
Yellow CardLaurent Koscielny
Great chance! Sinclair smashes his free-kick against the cross-bar! The winger was looking for the top-far corner with Szczesny scrambling for it. So unlucky.
Free-kick in a dangerous position after Sinclair was fouled and the England Under-21 internaitonal looks set to take it.
First opportunity of the second half as van Persie attempts an over-head kick from an Arshavin cross, but it goes wide.
Yellow CardTheo Walcott
Great start by Swansea here as they put Arsenal on the back foot from the off. Sinclair did well down the left, beating Sagna before cutting his pass back, but Graham can't control it and Arsenal clear.
And the second-half is back underway.
Halftime at the Emirates. Arsenal were much the better side in this opening 45, but Swansea grew into the match as it went on and played some very nice passing football towards the final 15 minutes. The Welsh side can be happy with their performance, but will be angry at the goal they conceded.
45' + 1'
Walcott with a half-chance there as he goes for goal from the corner of the area, but the ball flashes across the face of goal, not needing Vorm to make a touch.
Swansea will be absolutely gutted by that goal as they had really come into the game in the last ten minutes and that will be a real sucker-punch, just before halftime too.
GOAL!!!!! Arsenal take the lead! Walcott takes a shot but is completely sliced. Vorm collects the ball and attempts to restart the game quickly by rolling the ball to Rangel, but the right-back knew nothing about it as it bounced off his heel and allowed Arshavin to slot home into an empty net from the left-side of the box.
Corner taken short and Sinclair avoids a challenge, but his shot from a tight-angle is blocked. The ball falls to Allen, but his short is blocked also.
Decent play by Swansea there. Sinclair did well to release Taylor down the left and the full-back played in a great cross, but no one got on the end of it and Gibbs concedes a corner.
Again, Arsenal camped outside the Swansea area playing simple passes amongst themselves, but when the ball eventually finds it's way to into a dangerous position, nothing comes of the move.
Arshavin once again has shown in inconsistent nature as he does well to skip past one tackle, but then his touch is awful and allows Vorm to collect, however the 'keeper's momentum carries him, and the ball out for a corner.
Arsenal looked to catch Swansea on the counter-attack there as Ramsey started the move in his own half, but van Persie couldn't find Arshavin in the box.
Agustien goes for goal from a free-kick about 30 yards out, but his curling attempt goes just over with Szczesny confident it wasn't on target.
Yellow CardKemy Agustien
Arsenal have done well to thwart any prospective Swansea attacks. Sinclair looked to get forward then, but he was stopped in his tracks by a combination of Mertesacker and Arteta.
Decent chance there for Frimpong. It was a clever passing move as Ramsey passed forward to Walcott who touched it back for the Ghanaian who shot first-time, but it went wide.
Arsenal slowly taking control here. The Gunners have been dominating possession around the Swansea box with everything going through Arteta and Ramsey.
Fantastic defending by Caulker! Walcott raced away from Taylor and placed a shot under the on-rushing Vorm, but Caulker charged back and poked the ball away just before it crossed the line.
Swansea are looking equal to their hosts during these early exchanges. Apart from the Ramsey chance inside the first minute, Arsenal haven't really created anything, whilst the Welsh side had a brilliant chance themselves.
Sagna whips a ball in from the right, but it takes a deflection before Walcott gets a flick on it, but Vorm flies from his line to catch it.
Big chance for Swansea there! Brilliant ball in from the right by Dyer and Graham managed to get a flick on it, beating Mertesacker to the near post, but Szczesny got down well to his left.
Free-kick in a dangerous area for Arsenal as Arteta is fouled on the edge of the box. However, the Spaniard can only find the wall from the set-piece.
Barely a minute gone and Arsenal almost take the lead. Arteta charged forward, skipping past a challenge before threading through a nice pass for Ramsey, but the Wales captain's finish wasn't great. Early intent however.
And we're underway at the Emirates!
Meanwhile, Swansea manager Brendan Rodgers will not be in charge of his side today following the death of his father.
Today's match will certainly make interesting viewing for Arsenal fans with two of the club's new signings - Per Mertesacker and Mikel Arteta - starting, whilst Park Chu-Young and Andre Santos will start on the bench.
Swansea line-up as: Vorm; Williams, Taylor, Caulker, Britton; Graham, Sinclair, Dyer, Rangel, Allen; Agustien SUBS: Dobbie, Lita, Moore, Bessone, Tremmel, Gower, Richards
The Arsenal team for this afternoon is: Szczesny; Sagna, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Gibbs; Ramsey, Frimpong, Arteta; Arshavin, van Persie, Walcott SUBS: Fabianski, Santos, Djourou, Benayoun, Chamakh, Park.
