The Spanish keeper did not instill confidence into his team-mates or the home support with a few shaky moments. The biggest one came in the first-half when he made a hash of a deflected shot which nearly crept into the corner of the net.
The French defender was caught out in the first-half as Jermaine Jones looked to get in behind the Arsenal defence but other than that he had a solid game.
He showed great energy levels and was not afraid to get forward to provide extra options in attack for his side. He used his pace to great effect in defence when making some vital interceptions.
At times he looked susceptible to the long ball but did all was asked of him as alongside Koscielny they kept Blackburn at bay.
A decent display from the Frenchman. He made a number of good tackles and won his fair share of aerial battles.
The playmaker started the game well but took a nasty blow on the head in the first-half. He carried on but did not make a huge impact on the game. He struggled to provide the creative spark for his side.
A luycklustre display from the Russian international. His touch and passing were off and many off Arsenal's moves broke down because of the little forward. He showed some flashes of his class with a couple of first time shots which tested Paul Robinson but they were only flashes of his ability. He was replaced on the hour mark by Cesc Fabregas.
The midfielder performed well on his return to the side and sheilded the defence to good effect. As the game wore on he tried to get forward and spark the Gunners into life, but he could not do it.
Not one of the England international's best displays as he failed provide the spark Arsenal needed. His passing was uncharacteristicly sloppy and he missed a nglorious chance from five yards in the first-half.
The Arsenal sppedster showed everyone at the EMirates what they have been missing after a excellent return from injury. He scared the visitors' defence with his pace and he ran at Martin Olsson everytime he got the ball. He showed signs of improvement with his end product but the only downside to his performance was his inability to get on the score sheet.
R. van Persie
Not one of his better days. The Dutch striker to get in the game and his usual excellent control of the ball was wayward. He gave the ball away too casually far too often.
He stood up well alongside Christophger Samba and was a key part of his side's success. Arsenal tried to pass round Blackburn but Nelsen coped well with the threat.
The former England keeper had a busy afternoon but repelled everything the Gunners threw at him. Sometimes his saves were unconventional but it was very effective as the kept out Arsene Wenger's side.
Making his first start since mid December the young Englishmen protected his defence well. His passing was also very effective and the dispaly will do his confidence the world of good after the injury.
The veteran full-back put in another excellent performance for his side. He may not have the engine to get up and down the field but defensively he was superb. He made a vital block on the line in the closing stages.
The captain put in an excellent display against Arsenal's attacking talents. They threw everything at him but he stood up to the test well with a superb show of defending.
The full-back was really tested by Theo Walcott's pace but he managed toride the storm and see the England winger off.
A superb display from the midfielder. His work rate was fantastic as he got from box to box to help out his defence and Roque Santa Cruz. He used the ball to good effect and run in behind the Arsenal defence to cause problems.
The Australian provided good cover for Michel Salgado and worked hard to help break up Arsenal's play. He provided some good set pieces for his tall team-mates to attack.
The midfielder recieved a straight red card for a challenge on laurent Koscielny and he can count himself slightly unlucky with the decision. He did arrive late but there have been far worst challenges gone unpunsihed this season. Otherwise the youngster had a decent game in the middle of the park.
The forward caused Arsenal problems on the break. He used his pace to get at the Arsenal defenders and was not afraid to shoot when presented with the opportunity.
R. Santa Cruz
The on-loan striker tried to offer a target for his side on many occasions he was isolated against Sebastien Squillaci and Laurent Koscielny. He was replaced by jason Roberts.

He tried to lift his side after coming on in the second-half but he looked slightly rusty after returning from injury. It wasn't for a lack of effort but he could not get the Gunners going.
Another forward who was thrown on as the Gunners became desperate but he could not provdie the goal to keep their title bid on track.
Thrown on to get the vitsal goal for Arsene Wenger but he did not make an impact on the game.
