That's it from me Harry Slavin. We've seen how Arsenal look after their summer, and they look the real deal. They're back in action tomorrow and you can follow the action here. Until then though, goodbye for now!
FULL-TIME: ARSENAL 5-1 BENFICA. A commanding display from Arsene Wenger's men as they sweep aside Benfica in some style.Calum Chambers and Alexis Sanchez will have been pleased with their input, but the new signings were outshone by Joel Campbell, Aaron Ramsey and Yaya Sanogo, who tore Benfica apart in the first half.
90' + 1'
POST!!! Coquelin rattles the post this time, his effort coming back of the inside of the post.
We are into the final minute at the Emirates. Jack Wilshere is walking a little gingerly after a heavy tackle. The last thing they need now Arsenal is an injury.
CROSSBAR!!! So nearly a sixth for Arsenal. Cazorla's corner is met by Miquel and his looping header has Artur beaten all ends up, the ball coming back off the upright.
It was from an almost identical position but this time the former Man Utd man can't hit the target, finding the side-netting instead. We're into the final five minutes now.
Another free kick in a dangerous position for Benfica. Bebe is behind it again, can he get the better of Martinez this time?
Yellow Card Loris Benito
Benito is the second man in the book this afternoon, cautioned for bringing down Akpom in full flight. There was surely a sixth goal on the cards there had he got clear.
Well he never did that for Manchester United!!! Bebe lets fly with a long range free kick with Martinez has to throw himself at to keep out. The forward really caught hold of that and seems a lot more at home in a Benfica shirt.
Sanchez is eager to impress, but perhaps a but too much so on this occasion as he commits a foul as he tracks back. A chance for Benfica but Gaitan's opportunistic backheel is kept out by Martinez.
First sighting of Sanchez down the left and there is an immediate buzz in the crowd as soon as he gets on the ball. He shows lightning footwork with a series of stepovers, before sending in a dangerous cross that has to be headed clear.
Neat play by Arsenal down the left from the hosts gives Santi Cazorla the chance to let fly from outside the box. He doesn't quite catch it though and Artur gets down low to keep the effort out.
Sanogo and Monreal also came off at the same time, with Akpom and Miquel also coming on alongside Arsenal's marquee signing. No sign of Debuchy yet.
SANCHEZ IS ON!!! Here comes the man we've all been waiting for. He'll have just over quarter of an hour to give these Arsenal fans a glimpse of what he's capable of . Campbell comes off for the Chilean. What a noise from the home fans too, cracking reception!
Hold onto your hats folk. Alexis Sanchez looks like he is getting stripped and ready for action! The last thing Benfica's defence wanted to see on this difficult afternoon.
A bad note to end a glorious afternoon for Sanogo. The Frenchman, who has netted five goals this afternoon, weaves his way magically through the defence but pulls up at the end, and looks to be clutching his right thigh.
Ooh, the first hairy moment for Martinez as he spills a deep cross in the Arsenal area. Luckily for the keeper there was no one about to take advantage of the blip. Still 5-1.
Maxi Pereira has another chance to demonstrate his long throw capabilities. This time the Arsenal defence are wise to hit though and Chambers gets his head to the ball to clear the danger.
Benfica have made several changes as well, and they seemed to have breathed new life into the Portuguese champions. They're seeing quite a bit more of the ball now - prompting a Mexican wave from the home fans!
Goal N. Gaitán
GOOOAAALLL!!! BENFICA GRAB ONE BACK!!! A consolation for Benfica as Maxi Pereira's long throw is flicked on and Gaitan steals in to thud the ball past Martinez.
Mikel Amatrian Arteta
Huge cheers inside the Emirates as Alexis Sanchez is sent to warm up. The hosts are making a raft of changes as well, as Arteta, Wilshere and Coquelin join the action. Rosicky. Flamini and Ramsey are off.
Not the most welcome sight for Arsene Wenger as Joel Campbell hobbles off after a collision in the Benfica area. There is a thumbs up from the physio though which should reassure fans.
Finally the subs get on for the Portuguese champions. Two have got on for the moment, including Bebe, who makes a swift return to the UK following his move from Manchester United this summer. Salvio and Sidnei make way.
Still the Benfica players wait to come on. The ball hasn't been out of play since Arsenal netted their fifth. They attack again down the right, Bellerin cutting inside and sending a shot into the arms of Artur.
Benfica are trying to force their way back into this somewhat. They've kept possession since conceding for a solid two minutes now, but can't find anyway to penetrate the Arsenal defence so far.
What a start to the second half, the Gunners starting where they left off. That goal has seen Jorge Jesus turn to his bench. A host of changes for Benfica in a moment.
Goal Yaya Sanogo
GOOOAAALLL!!! SANOGO GETS HIS FOURTH!!! Another fluid move from Arsenal, another goal for Sanogo. A lovely touch from Campbell brings the ball out of the air. He slips the ball through for Ramsey and when his shot is saved, the Frenchman is in the right place to tap home.
We are back underway and already Benfica go on the attack, looking to cut the deficit. They force an early corner but a header flashes wide of Martinez's goal.
Santi Cazorla comes on for Oxlade-Chamberlain. It seems to be the only change at the break. Surprising that. We are about to get back underway at the Emirates.
Substitues are out warming up for both sides at the break. We could see a raft of changes for the second half. Possibly the first sighting of Debuchy in an Arsenal shirt since his move from Newcastle.
HALF-TIME: ARSENAL 4-0 BENFICA. Phew! Well that was manic! Arsenal really found their groove towards the end of the first half and steamrollered their Portuguese opponents. Their young front-line look hungry, with Campbell, Sanogo and Ramsey all looking sharp. You have to feel for Benfica - they may yet have to face Alexis Sanchez!
45' + 1'
Goal Yaya Sanogo
GOOOAALLL!!!! IT'S A ROUT!!! What a sensational end to this first half!! Sanogo clips the ball over Artur in stoppage time and the home side are in a truly unassailable position now. That's his hat-trick too!
Assist J. Campbell
Goal Yaya Sanogo
GGGOOOAAALLL!!! IT IS THREE NOW!!! The Portuguese are struggling to clear their lines and Arsenal are making them pay. They can't clear out quickly enough at a corner and when the ball is sent back in Campbell is onside without a Benfica defender in sight, and he unselfishly squares for Sanogo to finish.
Another chance for Campbell! Arsenal are rampant at the moment and it could be three. Campbell is presented with the ball at his feet just inside the area but he can only send his effort wide.
Goal J. Campbell
GOOOAALLL! CAMPBELL DOUBLES THE LEAD!!! A really well-worked goal from the Gunners which originates down the right. Bellerin plays a one-two with Sanogo before picking out Campbell in the area, who slots the ball home first time. Gunners firmly in the driving seat now.
Arsenal are really growing in confidence throughout this first half. That opening goal has flattened Benfica, who are struggling to get into possession at the moment.
A chance for Oxlade-Chamberlain, as he almost get's on the end of neat work between Rosicky and Ramsey. Artur comes out though to prevent the opportunity.
It isn't the first time these two have met in a friendly before. The pair met at the Stadio du Luz in Lisbon three years ago. Arsenal took the lead on that occasion too, but went on to lose.
The Portuguese are moving the ball around nicely but the final ball is lacking. Ola John brings in Benito on the left hand side and the full-back bursts into the box, but can't get his foot around his cross and sends it out for a goal kick.
Joel Campbell get's the chance to run at Maxi Pereira down the left but he's outfoxed by the Uruguayan, the stepover not enough to fool the defender and he sees the attack out for a goal kick.
Arsenal attack again on the left this time, but Rosicky and Sanogo can't link up on this occasion. Arsenal's youngsters looking good at the moment.
Assist Aaron Ramsey
Goal Yaya Sanogo
GOOAAALL!!! ARSENAL LEAD!!! It has been coming. Ramsey scampers down the right after escaping the attentions of Benito. He bides his time before picking out Sanogo in the centre, who cannot miss from less than six-yards out.
Benfica go close from the free kick as Monreal almost backheels the ball into his own net, but the flag is up in any case to spare the Spaniard's blushes.
First real bit of work for Chambers. The youngster is forced to turn quickly to keep up with Lima as the ball is played over the top. He does just enough to put the striker off, the Brazilian only able to poke the ball into the arms of Martinez.
Yellow Card Monreal
First booking of the game and it's for Arsneal's Nacho Monreal. Gaitan is clear through the middle of the park for Benfica, but he's cynically tripped by the Spaniard.
Not a good sign for Benfica. Eliseu can't continue and will have to come off. It's a straight swap at left-back as Benito takes his place in defence.
CHANCES APLENTY FOR ARSENAL!!! Sanogo unselfishly tries to play in Ramsey, but the pass allows Artur to close the angle. Seconds later their is a much clearer chance for the Frenchman as he gets across his man at the near post, but he can only divert it wide of the target.
Campbell with a great chance A scooped pass from Ramsey falls right into the path of the Costa Rican. He decides to take the shot on first-time but he's stretching and can only poke the ball wide. He had time there to take a touch as well.
Flamini sends a ball over the top and looks for a second as if Welshman Ramsey is clear. Artur is quick off his line though and send the ball into touch. The midfielder has definitely been given license to go and support Sanogo.
Benfica are looking for a bit of joy down the flanks and they get some on the right. Maxi Pereira gets to the bye-line and his cutback finds Gaitan, whose effort clips the crossbar on the way over.
Great work from Sanogo as he turns Gaitan on the halfway line. He bursts into the Benfica half and tries to bring Ramsey into the attack, but overcooks his cross-field pass and the attack fizzles out.
No chances early on. Taking a second look at that Campbell penalty claim and it looks more and more a foul every time you look at it. The winger gets pushed in the chest as he tries to cut inside. He has every right to feel aggrieved.
It's a much more experienced side sent out by Jorge Jesus, the Benfica coach. Ola John looks like he fancies his chances down the left-hand side but his early cross is picked out by Martinez.
Early shouts for a penalty as Joel Campbell bursts into the box. The Costa Rican is back at the Emirates following his loan stint at Olympiakos last term, but the referee waves play on here.
Away we go at the Emirates! It's a really test for Chambers on his debut. He's been thrown straight in the deep-end at centre-back for the Gunners, despite playing predominantly at right-back for Southampton last season.
Arsenal are in position and we are about to get underway here!
Arsene Wenger spoke briefly to tv before the game here. "It's been a good pre-season till now. Good focus. We have a little momentum after consistency of results and FA Cup and now we look forward. It's a big chance for Joel Campbell, who had a great World Cup and Calum Chambers at centre-back. There is an opening at centre-back. Benfica are a good team, a little ahead in terms of fitness. They were League champions and last season finalists of the Europa League, so it's a good test for us."
Arsene Wenger is currently in the tunnel, high-fiving every mascot. His players are no where to be seen though and are keeping their opponents waiting. Benfica are already out in the tunnel and waiting.
So Calum Chambers starts at the heart of defence, with no Thomas Vermaelen invloved for the Gunners. Is off to Manchester? Fans will have to wait to catch their first glimpse of Sanches who is on the bench, as is fellow signing Debuchy.
ARSENAL SUBS: Szczesny, Debuchy, Koscielny, Arteta, Wilshere, Giroud, Sanchez, Cazorla, Coquelin, Akpom, Miquel. BENFICA SUBS: Derley, Paulo Lopes, Jara, Benito, Cancelo, Bebe, Andre Almeida, Luis Felipe, Candeias, Lindelof, Joao Teixeira.
BENFICA XI (4-1-4-1): Artur; Maxi Pereira, Cesar, Eliseu, Sidnei; Talisca; Ola John, Gaitan, Amorim, Salvio; Lima.
ARSENAL XI (4-1-4-1): Martinez; Bellerin, Chambers, Monreal, Gibbs; Flamini; Campbell, Ramsey, Rosicky, Oxlade-Chamberlain; Sanogo.
As well as Sanchez, there are a couple of other new faces in the Arsenal squad as they prepare to play in front of home fans for the first time this season. Calum Chambers and Mathieu Debuchy are both involved today. The teams have already been announced so let's take a look at them now. We'll start with the hosts.
The crowd is beginning to fill up in North London ahead of this afternoon's bout. That is probably in no small part down to the noises being made about a possible debut for Alexis Sanchez. The Chilean made the move from Barcelona to the Emirates this summer and is Arsenal's biggest addition of the transfer window so far.
The first game of the tournament has already finished, with Spanish side Valencia denied victory by a late strike from Monaco's Lucas Ocampos - the game finishing 2-2. A similarly entertaining affair here wouldn't go a miss.
Good afternoon and welcome to live coverage of the Emirates Cup! I'm Harry Slavin and I'll be here to take you through all the action as Arsenal take on Benfica.
