Leeds' second choice in goal but Ashdown performed admirably when called upon for the most part. He will, however, be disappointed with his failure to stop Juan Mata's shot after the break which set the tone for the second 45 minutes.
Captain Peltier was rarely troubled by Marko Marin but ought to have got forward more often than he did, particularly in the second half.
The England Under-21s international had been a rock in the heart of defence before Chelsea found their stride after the break. Lees kept Fernando Torres fairly quiet and set the tone with a crunching tackle in the early moments.
Often the spare man at the back, Pearce had to concentrate hard to remain aware of Chelsea runners from midfield. Threw his body on the line when it was needed in a performance that may make Neil Warnock think about starting him more often.
Not a wide midfielder but his inclusion on the right made Leeds a more compact outfit. He did most of his better work helping Sam Bryam but struggled to impact the game going forward.
Quite simply, Brown was outclassed in midfield and needlessly got caught up with Frank Lampard's acting up to the occasion. A fouler all night, he was chasing shadows for the majority of the game.
The youngster has been a steady performer for Leeds so far this season and so it proved tonight up against Victor Moses. Bryam rarely looked out of place and will benefit from the experience.
Showcased his Premier League pedigree when counterattacking for Becchio's goal - flying forward before finding the striker with the outside of his boot. The cross made the goal look much easier than it was to craft.
Tongue had a quiet evening but did the simple things well. He strode on with purpose in the build-up to the opening goal and is capable of mixing it up physically alongside Michael Brown.
As you would expect, Becchio took his goal coolly but it was how he held his run leading up to the finish which was impressive. Was bullied out of proceedings too easily by Branislav Ivanovic, though.
He signed a new contract in the week and, although not everyone's favourite player, Diouf is always a livewire, his movement posing Chelsea problems before being taken off in the second half.

Came on late on.
Had almost nothing to do all evening but was quick to set the visitors off with good distribution.
Good on the ball, apart from a casual moment to gift Leeds the opening goal, but Luiz was suspect defensively. The Brazilian looked to have more mistakes in him but was not pressed enough. To his credit, played a piercing ball for Eden Hazard's goal.
Apart from when Jerome Thomas looked menacing for a few fleeting moments, Azpilicueta didn't have an awful lot to do. He might have got involved going forward a touch more.
Quick to offer Victor Moses support going forward doing the left and has a wicked final ball in his locker. Bertrand was fortunate not to have to do an awful lot of defending, with Paul Green offering little.
Might have done a little better positionally with the Leeds goal in a rare moment he was called upon. The defender made a decent run for his goal, curving towards the near post before heading home.
Deployed in a deeper role than normal, the youngster blossomed. He was up against tough tacklers Michael Brown and Michael Tongue but held his own physically and provided Chelsea with energy in possession.
Continues to impress in a Chelsea shirt and took his goal like a man playing with real confidence, thundering a shot past Jamie Ashdown. Had the presence of mind to know when to slow the game down as well.
Failed to take his chance on his first start for Chelsea. The German allowed himself to be snuffed out by Lee Peltier too easily before being taken off early in the second half.
Looked bang up for the occasion as soon as the first whistle went. Like a sledging cricketer, Lampard had plenty of chat in the middle and drove the visitors on when Leeds tails were up.
He will be pleased to have finally fashioned a true chance late in the game when he added an easy fifth goal. The striker's performance was encouraging, showing for the ball more often than in the recent past and moving well off the ball.
Mata's low drive at the start of the second half kick-started the Chelsea revival after being a goal down at the break and his low sense of gravity and endeavor in and around the box that always causes opposition problems.

Came on for no great impact towards the end of the game.
His inclusion at 1-1 provided an added edge in an attacking sense and he took his goal very well, calming slotting the ball beyond Ashdown.
