  Unfortunate to score an own goal as he diverted Samaras’ header beyond Valdes, but other than that he was rarely troubled by the Celtic attack and Hooper in particular. Although still looked capable of making a mistake at the back.

  Was the solid and dependable member of the home midfield as he looked to stop any sort of chances that Celtic attempted to create. Had a good chance to get a goal with less than nine minutes left.

  Found a brick wall of a Celtic defence in the first half as he rarely could get by the rearguard in order to get a one-on-one sight at Forster’s goal. When he did he found the England stopper in world class form to deny him several times.

  The big Nigerian centre-back was superb for the Hoops as he was constantly the last line of defence between Barcelona and Forster. Was calm under pressure throughout and looks a bargain for Neil Lennon.

  Was continually caught out as the Celtic defence looked to catch their opponents offside, but just like Ambrose he was strong and resolute at the back. Made a great tackle on Messi.

  Delivered some superb free-kicks and corners, especially the one that led to the opener. Wasn’t as effective in open play as he too was forced to deal with the might of the Barcelona midfield. Was replaced by Kayal late in the game.
