Jurgen Klopp has an almost fully fit squad from which to select, with fringe players Chris Lowe and Patrick Owomoyela the only players sidelined with injury, but could rest some players with top spot already guaranteed.
Roberto Mancini will be without any recognised left-backs with Gael Clichy (ankle) and Aleksander Kolarov (groin) both likely to miss the trip to Dortmund. Maicon could fill in at right-back, with Pablo Zabaleta switching to the left - or Gareth Barry could switch to his former position.
James Milner (hamstring) is out after picking up an injury at Wigan last week, while Jack Rodwell (hamstring) and Micah Richards (knee) are still a while away from a first-team return. Mancini confirmed on Monday that Yaya Toure will not be involved, so Javi Garcia is likely to deputise.
The Italian boss will have one eye on Sunday's Manchester derby, so he could rest a few key players with one eye on the Premier League.

The German international is forging a huge reputation for himself on the biggest stage after joining Dortmnd from Borussia Mochengladbach in the summer. Reus' combination of pace and skill has seen him bag three goals in the Champions League already this term. Dortmund rely heavily on the attacking talents of Reus, Gotze and Lewandowski but the trio have come up with the goods more often than not for the German champions.

Roberto Mancini has recently challenged the former Arsenal man to rekindle the type of form he produced at the Emirates Stadium before his move to Manchester City. The Frenchman hasn't been a regular starter this season but expect him to be given a chance in Germany. Dortmund are unlikely to sit back so the Manchester City midfield should have space to operate in what should be an open encounter.
Expect the German champions to overcome Manchester City. In front of their own fans and despite having already qualified, Dortmund will want to prove their worth against a very expensively assembled City team. The visitors may not want to be in the Europa League, so may lack the motivation needed to earn a result against a side of Dortmund's quality.
