    Ivan Kelava

Did not cover himself in glory at all for Porto’s opener in which he palmed the ball straight to the feet of Lucho inside the box. However, kept his side in the match at times with a number of decent saves from distance shots.

  • Josip Simunic
    14
    2
    3.00

    Josip Simunic

Displayed complete aerial dominance throughout the match by heading and sweeping away countless of Porto crosses. Unlucky to be on the losing side.

  • Tonel
    4
    1
    2.50

    Tonel

Showed excellent determination to get back and rob Jackson Martinez of the ball when the Colombian looked destined to score with the goal gaping. However, did not deal with the movement of Varela and Rodriguez when they drifted inside.

  • Josip Pivarić

Josip Pivarić Flop of the Match

Much like his other full-back team-mate, had his hands full with the link up play of the Porto wide players and failed to track the marauding runs of Miguel Lopes on the overlap down the right flank

  • Domagoj Vida
    3
    3
    2.50

    Domagoj Vida

Showed a couple of moments of real class on the ball as he aimed to get forward down the right. However, struggled defensively up against the pacey James Rodriguez and Alex Sandro on the left.

  • Adrián Calello
    2
    4
    2.00

    Adrián Calello

Was tasked with getting in the face of Moutinho throughout the match but did not apply enough pressure to the Porto man in central areas. Resorted to committing needless fouls in dangerous positions.

  • Arijan Ademi
    5
    2
    2.00

    Arijan Ademi

Had a quiet match as he spent most it ball watching due to the dominance of possession by Porto in central areas. Replaced on the hour mark by Beciraj.

  • Sammir
    7
    4
    3.00

    Sammir

Cut a fairly frustrated figure at times during the match as he did not see enough of the ball to allow him to turn and drive at the Porto defence. Showed fleeting signs of his talent but ultimately could not affect the game after seeing so little possession.

  • Marcelo Brozović
    0
    4
    2.50

    Marcelo Brozović

Had a couple of decent breaks from wide areas to take the pressure off his side when they were under the cosh. However, did not track the continuous runs of Alex Sandro on the overlap down the left, which Porto exploited.

  • Ante Rukavina
    1
    4
    2.50

    Ante Rukavina

Spent most of his match in unfamiliar defensive territory which negated his attacking threat significantly. Failed to drift inside and look for more possession. Was substituted with 20 minutes to go.

  • Duje Cop
    1
    5
    2.50

    Duje Cop

Came closest to opening the scoring in the first half for his side when he curled a shot narrowly by the right-hand post from 18 yards. After that cut a pretty isolated figure as the lone striker of the hosts. Did not have a great game but was not awarded with any great service either.

Substitutions

  • Bryan Carrasco

    5
    2.00

    Bryan Carrasco

Wasted a fantastic opportunity to draw level when he misjudged a header at the back post with the goal at his mercy.

  • Mateo Kovačić
    4
    2
    2.50

    Mateo Kovačić

Was introduced in the last ten minutes but could not affect the game for his side in his cameo.

  • Fatos Beciraj

    1
    3.00

    Fatos Beciraj

Came on with 30 minutes to go and gave Dinamo an added impetus in the final third with his intelligent runs and strong hold up play.

  • Helton
    12
    1
    3.50

    Helton

Was a spectator for the majority of the match but when called upon he was excellent. Denied Tonel’s spectacular overhead kick with a point-blank save and showed amazing recovery to scramble away Carrasco’s header.

  • Maicon Pereira Roque
    3
    1
    3.00

    Maicon Pereira Roque

Much like Simunic for Dinamo, was commanding in the air and did not allow any loose balls in the penalty area. Marshalled Duje Cop well and was always right at his back putting him under pressure. Attempted to get in on the act with a couple of long-range shots but both went wayward.

  • Miguel Lopes
    5
    2
    3.50

    Miguel Lopes

Basically deployed as a winger tonight. Due to Porto’s dominance in possession his defensive duties became less important. Was always a willing runner on the overlap and helped Varela to terrorise Dinamo right-back Pivaric.

  • Alex Sandro
    11
    1
    3.00

    Alex Sandro

Displayed a superb understanding with James Rodriguez down the left and was more often than not Porto’s furthest man forward as he continually got to the byline. Crossing could have been slightly better but he did manage to whip in to some really teasing areas.

  • Nicolás Otamendi
    7
    0
    3.00

    Nicolás Otamendi

Always displayed an extremely cool head at the back and continuously looked for a pass into the centre for Moutinho. Was adept at the ugly side too as he made a couple of vital interceptions inside the area the clear danger.

  • Lucho González
    12
    0
    3.50

    Lucho González

Displayed a veteran head throughout the game and cleverly slowed the play down in the middle of the park whenever Dinamo looked to be on the ascendancy. Was in the right place at the right time as he tapped home the opening goal.

  • Joao Moutinho
    22
    2
    4.00

Joao Moutinho Top of the Match

The best player on the park. Carried on his scintillating European Championship form and ran the game from start to finish. Picked out a number of incisive passes down the channels and was the man that launched every meaningful Porto attack.

  • James Rodríguez
    16
    1
    3.50

    James Rodríguez

Was always a danger to the Dinamo defence with his impressive pace and trickery. Whipped in a number of dangerous crosses and was unlucky not to grab a goal when his volley from the edge of the area was well saved by Kelava.

  • Steven Defour
    17
    1
    3.50

    Steven Defour

Neat and tidy in central areas and strolled through the match. Was always in the face of the Dinamo centre midfielders and won the ball back continually. Had a touch of class about him tonight which was typified by his dink over Kelava in the last minute.

  • Jackson Martínez
    8
    6
    2.50

    Jackson Martínez

Despite Porto’s domination of the possession the Colombian failed to establish himself in the match. He was not given particularly good service but he should have been on the scoresheet. Missed an open goal from three yards when he languished in possession.

  • Silvestre Varela
    12
    3
    3.50

    Silvestre Varela

A speed demon down the right flank. Formed a formidable duo with Miguel Lopes and was just as dangerous when dribbling inside. However, crossing could have been better as he hit the first man time and time again.

Substitutions

  • Eliaquim Mangala

    2.50

    Eliaquim Mangala

    Cameo in the dying minutes.

  • Kléber
    3

    2.50

    Kléber

Should have scored after his introduction but horribly sliced wide from 18 yards.

  • Christian Twasam Atsu

    3.00

    Christian Twasam Atsu

Bright after coming on. Had a couple of decent shots and goals and gave Dinamo trouble with his pace.
