Elsewhere, Parma extended their unbeaten run to five matches after they drew with northern rivals Chievo, while Genoa suffered again to lose more ground in the fight for survival

PALERMO 2-2 LAZIO
A late Hernanes penalty rescued Lazio a 2-2 draw with Palermo, who appeared to have done enough to keep all three points in Sicily, on Saturday.
The Biancocelesti took the lead inside 10 minutes when Cristian Ledesma's lobbed pass found Sergio Floccari, and the former Atalanta striker ghosted in between two Rosanero defenders before sending a header over Samir Ujkani.
However, Palermo scored two goals in two minutes to turn the match on its head as firstly Andrea Dossena's drilled cross was netted by Egidio Arevalo on 70 minutes, and moments later, Josip Ilicic's ball into the box was flicked on by Fabrizio Miccoli, allowing Paulo Dybala to apply the finish.
But with just six minutes of normal time remaining, Floccari was brought down in the box by Ezequiel Munoz, and Hernanes netted the resulting penalty to keep Lazio third in the standings, but fall five points behind Serie A leaders Juventus.
For Palermo, however, they have won just three games out of a possible 22 this season and stay second from bottom in the standings.
ATALANTA 1-1 CAGLIARI
In Sunday's postponed kick-off which did not get under way until 15:30CET due to adverse weather conditions, Atalanta needed to come back from behind to draw 1-1 with Cagliari at the Azzurri d'Italia.
Inside two minutes, Marco Sau's intelligent movement had already posed problems for the Bergamese side, as Michele Canini stumbled in the box and got the final touch on the striker's attempt at goal.
But just under the hour mark, defender Guglielmo Stendardo headed Atalanta back onto level terms and the match finished a point a piece, despite Luigi Giorgi's late red card for a second bookable offence.
GENOA 0-2 CATANIA
Having gone three games without a loss, Luigi Del Neri will be feeling the pressure again after he saw his Genoa side crash to a 2-0 defeat at home to Catania.
Early goals were the name of the game this weekend, and four minutes in, the host's defence was left ball-watching as Alejandro Gomez's through pass was coolly tucked home by Gonzalo Bergessio for his eighth of the season.
And with five minutes left, Mariano Izco's vision allowed Pablo Barrientos to seal the victory, albeit with a hint of luck, as the Argentine winger profited from a slight deflection, courtesy of Andreas Granqvist.
The Sicilians stay two points shy of AC Milan in seventh, but Genoa remain snowed under in the relegation zone.
CHIEVO 1-1 PARMA
Parma consolidated ninth place at the Bentegodi on Sunday, thus extending their unbeaten run to five matches, but they had to settle for a 1-1 draw with Chievo.
The Gialloblu took the lead on 40 minutes through Ishak Belfodil. The French striker has reportedly garnered the interest of champions Juventus, and his deft movement and crisp finish from Nicola Sansone's pass showed onlookers why he is in demand.
But 11 minutes after the restart, Cyril Thereau's assist found the head of Alberto Paloschi, who put one over his former employers to leave the Flying Donkeys in the mid-table security of 12th place.
SIENA 1-0 SAMPDORIA
Siena ended a run of seven straight defeats thanks to a slender 1-0 win at the expense of Sampdoria.
The victorious goal came on 71 minutes when Alessio Sestu's cross was guided in by veteran Albanian forward Erjon Bogdani.
However, in a bizarre turn of events, Tuscans boss Giuseppe Iachini was sent down the tunnel from his dugout after a spat with Sampdoria defender Daniele Gastaldello.
Siena stay rock bottom of the Serie A table but are now six points adrift of Pescara in 17th place. The Blucerchiati, meanwhile, have won just one of their last seven games and stay 14th.

Pescara had an afternoon to forget on Sunday after they saw two personnel sent off in a 2-0 defeat to Torino in Serie A.
The signs were ominous just four minutes in as Alessio Cerci's cross was blocked by wantaway goalkeeper Mattia Perin, but he could not stop Mario Santana from scoring the rebound.
On the edge of half-time, Cerci linked up well with Riccardo Meggiorini before making no mistake with his goal-bound effort after coming in from the left-hand side.
With under 10 minutes of the match remaining, Vladimir Weiss was controversially shown a second yellow card for taking a dive, which in turn led to Pescara coach Cristiano Bergodi also given his marching orders.
The Delfini stay out of the relegation zone despite their second successive league defeat, but Torino leapfrog Chievo into 11th following their impressive away win.
