Serie A Round 12 Results: Napoli complete injury-time comeback in Genoa, while Palermo claim crucial win

Elsewhere in Italy, Torino came out as victors in a relegation six-pointer with Bologna and a goalless draw does little to help Siena's cause, despite a resilient performance

CATANIA
0 0 CAGLIARI
After their 4-0 thrashing of Lazio last week, Catania were fortunate to even receive a share of the spoils against Cagliari.

The game was a tale of two goalkeepers, as Mariano Andujar pulled off several world-class saves to keep the scoreline level, whilst Michael Agazzi had a game to forget in the opposite net.

Marco Sau rounded Andujar moments before the break and looked for all the world set to put his team ahead, but the recovering Argentine shot-stopper managed to parry Sau's goal-bound effort away to safety.

Nicolas Spolli was almost provided with the opportunity to give the home side the lead, after Agazzi's failed attempt to claim a free kick left the defender with the chance to turn the ball home into an unguarded goal, but the chance went begging.

The point sees Catania move up to seventh, as Cagliari slip out of the top half.
PALERMO 2 0 SAMPDORIA
Palermo managed only their second win of the season against Sampdoria, as the away side continue their dismal run of form.

Franco Brienza provided the assists for both of his side's goals, as young forward Paulo Dybala proved that he could recreate the form of the injured Fabrizio Miccolli.

Dybala received a good ball from Brienza inside the opposition penalty area in the 52nd minute and made no mistake with an emphatic finish into the top corner.

The same man was at it again 20 minutes later, springing the Sampdoria offside trap before placing an effort beyond Sergio Romero and into the far corner.

Palermo rise to 14th, while Samp remain in freefall and are now precariously placed in 17th.
GENOA
2 4 NAPOLI
Napoli completed an impressive injury-time comeback to deprive relegation-threatened Genoa of a valuable point.

The home side took a surprise lead in the 23rd minute, Ciro Immobile finishing instinctively after the ball had dropped for him inside the area.

Giandomenico Destro managed to claw Napoli back into the game in the 54th minute, after powering in a near-post effort. The visitors were only on level terms for two minutes, however, as Andrea Bertolacci tapped Genoa back in front.

Napoli's second equaliser came from a more prolific source, as Edinson Cavani rounded Sebastien Frey and finished in the 79th minute to draw his side level once more.

Two goals in the dying seconds from Marek Hamsik and Lorenzo Insigne then secured the win for Walter Mazzarri's men, who remain third, whilst Genoa slip into the relegation zone.
PARMA
0 0 SIENA
Parma were frustrated by bottom side Siena at the Stadio Ennio Tardini, despite having several opportunities to snatch a win to arrest their faltering form.

Aleandro Rosi should have put the home side in front in the first half, firing an effort over the bar from six yards out following a pinpoint cross from Jonathan Biabiany.

Siena's back five remained resolute, however, and forced Parma into long-range efforts - from which they had no luck.

Gianluca Pegolo almost gifted Gialloblu the winner inside the dying embers of the match by spilling a corner, but the keeper's blushes were spared by a goal-line clearance.

Parma are in eighth due to Catania's superior goal difference, with a point not being enough to lift Siena from the foot of the table.
TORINO 1 0 BOLOGNA
Torino came out on top in a relegation six-pointer with Bologna, thus ending their run of six matches without a win.

Had Torino not prevailed, Rolando Bianchi would have been the man to blame, as the star striker squandered great opportunities for his side - most notably a one-on-one before half-time.

Saphir Taider wasted a great chance for Bologna, as the young Frenchman nodded a Gyorgy Garisc cross narrowly wide of the post.

However, after Gianluca Sansone saw two efforts come to no fruition as the pressure on Bologna rose, Danilo D'Ambrosio nodded Torino into a 66th-minute lead.

Bologna sit in 19th, just above basement side Siena, while Torino move away from the relegation zone and into 12th.
