Thank you for joining me for Goal.com's LIVE coverage of what was a fabulous, open match. Good night!
FULL-TIME: BENFICA 5-2 REAL MADRID. The home side have won their second Eusebio Cup in a row after comprehensively beating the La Liga champions at the Estadio da Luz this evening. Goals from Garcia, Witsel, Martins and a second-half brace from Perez secured the victory, with Callejon bagging both of Madrid's goals. Benfica will be delighted with the win, as club-legend Eusebio watched on from the sidelines, while the result shows that Jose Mourinho certainly has work to do with his squad ahead of the start of the La Liga season.
90′
The referee blows his final whistle bang on 90 minutes to signal the end of a thrilling game.
88′
As the game edges towards its conclusion both sides make a couple more changes, and this one looks like it is going to finish 5-2.
86′
That's high, wide, and not at all handsome from Karim Benzema!! The France international hits a speculative effort with his left foot from 35 yards that is nowhere near troubling Artur.
85′
Goal Enzo Nicolás Pérez
GOALLL!!! BENFICA LEAD 5-2 NOW!! Forget that misplaced pass a few minutes ago, Perez makes amends for that, and some, with a tidy clipped finish over Adan from the right-hand side of the penalty area after Kardec had slipped the ball through to him. The home side are making Madrid look poor tonight! 5-2 the score!

83′
Benfica have a chance to work their way inside the Madrid penalty area but at the crucial moment Enzo Perez overhits his pass to Saviola as his fellow Argentine looks to race behind Coentrao and get into the box. Perez should have done better there, he had time to pick the pass.
81′
Another shot of Eusebio on the sideline there. He's leaning on a crutch as he watches the match from the Benfica bench. He will have no doubt enjoyed his team's performance this evening, as they have outclassed their more illustrious opponents all over the park.
79′
The Argentine looks in a fair deal of pain out there, and can only hobble from the pitch as he is replaced by Alex.
78′
Worrying moments for Madrid and their coach Jose Mourinho as Gonzalo Higuain crumples to the ground in a heap under a challenge from the Benfica captain Luisao.
76′
The home side are making another change here, as former Madrid man Javier Saviola comes on to replace one of their goalscorers Axel Witsel. The Belgian international has had a fine game int the centre of the park for Benfica, and deserves the applause of the crowd as he makes his way off.
75′
Benfica look happy to see this match out, and to be honest Madrid don't look like troubling them at the moment, despite their attacking changes.
73′
Morata is being tipped for greatness by many within the club, and if his performances for the Spain U19 side are anything to go by, they could be right. Let's see what he can do in the last 20-odd minutes of this match!
72′
After being treated by the physios, Mourinho decides Callejon's contribution is over, and replaces him with a fellow Madrid canterano, the very highly-rated Alvaro Morata.
71′
The man who has bagged both of Madrid's goals tonight, Jose Callejon, is down receiving treatment after clashing with Perez as the two players challenged for the ball in the air.
69′
That should be a penalty for the home side!! Juanfran goes through the back of Kardec in the penalty area, but despite the Benfica player's protests, the referee waves play on!
68′
Bruno Cesar has just made Diarra look silly in midfield by looping the ball over the Frenchman's head and picking it up on the other side. The Madrid man is not happy about it, and exacts his revenge by pulling the Benfica substitute aggressively to the ground.
66′
Benzema has a chance to reduce the deficit as he gets on the end of an enticing Di Maria cross from the left, but the Frenchman's acrobatic effort is caught comfortably by Artur in the Benfica goal.
64′
Benfica's outstanding performer Carlos Martins is granted a standing ovation by the home side's fans, as he is replaced by Bruno. Nice touch, and fully deserved.
63′
Mourinho had some kind words to say about Coentrao after the player signalled his desire to play in this match, despite not being due back in pre-season training until tomorrow: "Fabio is a Benfica fan in his heart. The last day of his holidays was due to be tomorrow, but for him this game is special and it means a lot to him. He won’t play much but he will play and he will be applauded by the fans here in the same way that his is so often in Madrid. He will want to show them his game".
61′
Kaka, who has had little impact on the match, is withdrawn to be replaced by Karim Benzema for Real Madrid, while Fabio Coentrao comes on for Ivan.
60′
We are 15 minutes into the second half here, and Benfica are cruising! Madrid have offered nothing in this second half, while the home side are looking rampant!
59′
Goal Luís Martins
4-2 TO BENFICA!! A FINE FINISH TO A FINE MOVE!! Witsel dances into the area on the right, before pulling the ball back perfectly to Martins, who fires into the roof of the net from 15 yards out. He's deserved that goal, the Benfica midfielder, he's been the star of the show so far.

56′
Madrid have barely touched the ball in this second half as Benfica have dominated. Carlos Martins in particular is being afforded far too much space for the home side, and is really controlling the game from his position in central midfield at the moment.
54′
Fabio Coentrao begins to warm up on the sidelines for Madrid, and is given a raucous round of applause by the Benfica fans. The Portugal international was a fans favourite during his time at the Estadio da Luz, and it appears the Benfica faithful have quite a considerable soft spot for the player, despite his move to Madrid last summer.
53′
Goal Enzo Nicolás Pérez
GOALLL!!! BENFICA HAVE THE LEAD!! 3-2!! Martins works a short corner on the right well to Enzo Perez who then swings a cross-shot towards the back post that flies into the back of the net and gives Adan no chance. Slightly fortunate you might say, but I tell you what Perez is loving it!

51′
Benfica are moving the ball around well, and the substitute Ola John, their new signing from FC Twente, nearly gives them the lead with a swirling effort from 25 yards. He's looked bright since coming on at half-time, and his pace is causing Juanfran all sorts of problems down the left.
49′
Granero goes in heavily on Witsel inside the centre-circle and the referee awards a free-kick for the home side.
47′
MARTINS SHOOTS WIDE FOR BENFICA!!! The ball falls to the veteran midfielder 18 yards from goal but Lassana Diarra dives in front of him and appears to do just enough to put him off as his strike flies wide of Adan's right-hand post.
46′
We are back underway here in Lisbon. Kaka and Higuain move the ball from right to left for Mourinho's side.
And there's the Benfica eagle soaring majestically around the Estadio da Luz. What a sight to behold! I think every club should have some sort of animal as part of their half-time entertainment. Any suggestions? Send them through to me on Twitter at @charliefscott, and I'll copy the best suggestions into this LIVE commentary!
As always, you can send me your thoughts on Twitter on the game as it unfolds. Who do you think has been the stand-out performer so far? And who would you like to see introduced in the second half? Send your answers to @charliefscott.
HALF-TIME: BENFICA 2-2 REAL MADRID. What a treat these two sides have served up in this first half! There's been 45 minutes of attacking football from both teams, and it's provided four goals already! Benfica took the lead early on through Javi Garcia, before a quick brace from Jose Callejon gave Madrid a 2-1 lead. That didn't last for long though, as Benfica exploited their opponent's shaky defence from a set piece to set up Axel Witsel to head home at the back post. 2-2 the score here in Estadio da Luz. DO NOT GO AWAY!
45′
That's the last we'll see in this 45 minutes, as the referee blows his whistle to mark the end of the half.
45′
Unsurprisingly, the man with two assists already, Carlos Martins, fancies whipping this one into the penalty area. The cross is hit firmly, but straight at the Madrid goalkeeper, but he still does well to parry the ball away from goal as it was travelling at a considerable speed!
44′
LOVELY ATTACKING PLAY FROM BENFICA!! Martins, Garcia and Melgarejo work the ball brilliantly down the left and only a cynical foul from Nacho on the latter of the three can stop Benfica from breaking into the Madrid penalty area. Another free-kick in a dangerous area for the home side though...
43′
The Benfica coach Jorge Jesus appears to be enjoying himself out in the technical area on the near side. His counterpart Jose Mourinho, meanwhile, remains rooted to his seat on the Madrid bench. You will not see me say that very often about Mourinho this season!
41′
The Madrid defence stands firm this time, with the young Frenchman Raphael Varane heading the ball to safety under pressure from the delightfully-haired Axel Witsel.
40′
Gaitan does well on the right wing to win a throw deep in Madrid's half, providing Benfica with another opportunity to hurl a high ball into Adan's penalty area.
39′
@MustazarZohaib has been in touch on Twitter to tell me this: "I want to see a hat-trick from Kaka. I don't want to see him in a shirt other than Madrid's." Emotional stuff. As a fan of the Brazilian I've got to say, a hat-trick would be a treat in this match. It's been so open so far I'm not writing anything off!
37′
Callejon is flagged offside, and that is a very tight call from the official on the far-side! Higuain's pass, and Callejon's run, looked like they had been played to perfection. A let-off for Benfica there!
36′
COMFORTABLE SAVE FOR ARTUR! Di Maria finds a pocket of space 30 yards from goal, just left of centre, but his left-foot effort doesn't trouble the Benfica goalkeeper, who steps to his right and catches the Argentine's speculative shot.
34′
Kaka has been in fairly quiet for Madrid tonight, but keep an eye on him folks, as this could well be the last time he lines up in a Madrid shirt, as Milan continue to be linked with a move for their former player. They even left his old number, 22, unassigned when submitting their squad list for the coming season earlier this week. A sign of an impending move for the Brazilian perhaps...
32′
Shout-out to Fabio Coentrao tonight by the way. The former Benfica, and current Madrid player came back early from his holidays to be included in Mourinho's squad for this match, such is his love for the Lisbon-based club, and that man Eusebio. I don't know about all of you but I think that's nice to see, so big-up to Fabio. Top lad.
31′
BIG MISS FROM CARDOZO!! The Paraguayan should have given his side the lead there! Some brilliant wing-play from Nolito created the chance, and Cardozo should have buried the cross from an unmarked position eight yards from Adan's goal.
29′
Javi Garcia certainly fancies it tonight. The Benfica midfielder has just sprinted from the half-way line, past a couple of limp challenges from Madrid's defence, and then attempted to hook an ambitious effort with the outside of his left foot over Adan from 25 yards. Sadly, it went miles over.
28′
Nico Gaitan is not happy about that! He's adjudged to have used his arm to control the ball as he charged into the Madrid penalty area, and if I'm being perfectly honest, I think that's a tad harsh on the attacker. Had play been waved on he would have been one-on-one with Adan there. What an open half an hour we've had so far at the Estadio da Luz. Lovely stuff!
26′
MY WORD!! Adan has caught a cross! That's definitely a first for tonight. He's looked shaky from anything in the air so far in this match, but he's come off his line to comfortably claim Martins' cross on this occasion.
25′
Don't forget guys, you can get in touch with me on Twitter @charliefscott. I'd love to hear your views on the match so far, and you're predictions for how this one will finish.
23′
My fingers are burning after that passage of goals! Three in the space of six minutes! That's what we like to see in pre-season friendlies. Madrid won their match on Tuesday 5-1 against Real Oviedo, so they've been in good goalscoring form. I'm predicting more in this one!
22′
Goal Axel Witsel
BENFICA HAVE EQUALISED!! Another free-kick from the right, and another headed goal for the Portuguese side. Axel Witsel nods the ball past Adan at the back post on this occasion, after the Belgian midfielder connects with an inswinging cross from the right from Carlos Martins. That's two assists for the Benfica midfielder now. 2-2. GAME ON!!

Goal Callejón
ANOTHER GOAL!! MADRID HAVE TAKEN THE LEAD!! There I was saying they had no end product. Forget that! Callejon has just scored twice in the space of two minutes. This time he sprints onto a neat through-ball from Gonzalo Higuain before slotting confidently past Artur. 2-1 to Madrid!

Goal Callejón
GOALL!! MADRID HAVE EQUALISED!! 1-1. Jose Callejon is the goalscorer, but Angel Di Maria is the undoubted architect. The Argentine raced down the right-hand side and into the Benfica box, before prodding a cross with the outside of his left foot to Callejon who is waiting by the penalty spot, and the young Spaniard makes no mistake with his side-footed finish into the bottom corner.

16′
The Real Madrid goalkeeper Antonio Adan makes a hash of that corner. He looks to come off his line to punch but only gets halfway there, and had a Benfica player got on the end of the cross that could easily have been 2-0. Adan was in no-mans-land!
15′
Benfica win a corner on the left after some positive play from the goalscorer Garcia. Can they profit from another set-piece?
14′
Madrid are enjoying the lion's share of possession in this first half, despite going behind in the 5th minute. Their final ball has not quite been up to scratch so far though, and the likes of Gonzalo HIguain and Angel Di Maria are being made to feed on scraps at the moment.
12′
Some nice theatrics from Juanfran in the right-back position there... NOT! The young Spaniard is under pressure from Cardozo, but instead of looking to turn and play the ball away, he opts to throw himself to the turf with his arms outstretched. He wins the free-kick, but no-one likes to see that. No-one.
11′
UNORTHODOX STUFF FROM ARTUR!! The Benfica goalkeeper comes racing from his line to get to a Madrid through-ball ahead of Angel Di Maria, but can only get there first by throwing himself head-first at the ball! Luckily for him he makes clean contact with the ball, and not Di Maria's outstretched foot, and the ball flies out for a throw-in to the away side.
9′
The away side are starting to get a hold of the ball in midfield more after conceding that early goal, with Granero and Lass moving the ball around nicely in the centre of the park.
8′
Madrid will look to turn this match around pronto. Their pre-season training steps into gear tomorrow, but their coach Jose Mourinho has made it clear before this showpiece match that he expects a win, despite it being a friendly.
7′
Well, I'm sure most of you weren't expecting that! Advantage to the home side. The camera panned to Eusebio in the crowd as that goal went in and he looked absolutely delighted!
4′
Goal Javi García
GOALL!!! BENFICA TAKE THE LEAD THROUGH JAVI GARCIA!! The midfielder heads home from 15 yards after managing to edge in front of Esteban Granero to make contact with the free-kick from the right.

4′
Benfica's Paraguayan striker Oscar Cardozo wins the first free-kick of the game after cutting in form the right and driving towards goal. The referee awards the set piece just outside the edge of the Real Madrid penalty area on the right-hand side.
3′
Kaka wins an early corner for Real Madrid after breaking down the right-hand side, and evading the attentions of two Benfica defenders before attempting a cross that crashed behind.
1′
Benfica get us underway in their dashing red and black kit, moving the ball from right to left.
BENFICA (4-2-3-1): Artur; Maxi, Luisao, Garay, Melgarejo; Javi,Carlos Martins, Nolito,Witsel, Gaitán; Cardozo
Here is Real Madrid's starting XI: (4-2-3-1) Adan; Juanfran, Nacho, Varane, Juanfran; Granero, Lass; Kaka,, Callejon, Di María; Higuain
Eusebio is out on the pitch to greet the two teams in the moments before kick-off, and what a sight that is. Both team's looking suitably star-struck!
The great man was recently hospitalised after suffering a stroke whilst watching Portugal during Euro 2012, so the showpiece game has added meaning tonight as all the player's well-wishes are sent to him as he recovers at home. Let's hope they put on a show for him this evening!
The Eusébio Cup is an annual football tournament held at Benfica's stadium in honour of Eusebio, the scorer of 319 goals in 313 appearances for the club during a fifteen-year stint at the club between 1960-1975.
